Great turnaround on the bmw, not a big fan of Carly as the subscription is not worth it and are too basic for the price. But glad they sponsored you as I love the channel.
Great video rob! Anyone know if Carly can reset dpf values? I recently fitted a new dpf and vaporiser to my mk3 focus 2.0 tdci and need to reset the values so the car recognises the new dpf. If so I will purchase one!
Good days money for a quick flip leave enough in it for the next trader what lovely kind words guys . You always come across so genuine to me no wonder why your Chanel is doing so well . Credit to you both keep the quality content coming please
Hi Rob really enjoy your videos I’m Mechanic 46 years in the trade and counting you and Chris are grafters always look forward to your videos you’re a natural in front of the camera and Chris is a quite man but such an handy lad.
That's what I like about your videos you show us before and after. You get stuck in. Your very informative and explain things. I know you say what a good mechanic Chris is but never underestimate how good you are too. Great content as usual
I think a lot of the value you put back into these cars is the proper cleaning and general tidying up you and Chris do, you two are not afraid to get stuck in! Hopefully more sponsors more content! Keep the vids coming we can't get enough!
I agree. I understand the guys need the income, but it is sad to see another great channel fall to the sponsors and start having these long in-video ‘infomercials’.
I totally agree, the merchandise plugs are becoming too long & too frequent. The reason I became a fan was because it was 2 guys fixing cars but it’s slowly becoming another car show
Great little result. Only comment on the interior cleaning if it hasn't already been mentioned, shiny leather looks worn out and like vinyl, just a simple clean would look better and maybe a quick treatment of leather feed
I don't know if anyone else has commented but I bought a grit guard bucket for car washing and although expensive for a bucket with a plastic grit guard in the bottom... (in my humble opinion) it really does prevents scratching of your paint whilst washing and it has wheels!!.This was after the time my brother washed his dark green metalic peugeot 205 d (student!) without a grit guard and bucket... All i can say is it took bloody ages to polish the car back to something like shiny before selling ....!!!
All you need is a cheap bucket and cut a square piece of chicken wire, fold the corners to fit inside the bucket and VOILA! You have a grit guard bucket!
I love the fact, you are enjoying yourselves doing the projects and letting us all see you doing it! Great wheel refurb, better than a bog standard silver flick over.
The X5 came up very nice, it's just ashame the previous owner didn't care enough about it to get the hoover on it I would be embarrassed to drive it looking as it did. Keep up the good work.
Good day's work. Refurb on the wheels and a good clean inside and out made a lot of difference. If it had been polished/detailed as well I think it would have looked even better but realise it was trade sale and it will be for the buyer to decide if he wants to bring it up to retail standard.
It certainly looks a million times better, but please dump those cans of silicone spray in the bin, get some leather cleaner or weak apc mix and clean the seats with that instead. Silicione just makes everything shiny, greasy, slippery and attracts dust and dirt.
Definately wouldn’t use that silicone spray on leather. It would make it so shiny and slippery when leather wants to be matte and hold you in the seats. Like you said, good leather cleaner will do the job. Only place I use silicone spray is on the floor and steps in my work van.
Very nice your not frightened of a bit of graft it's go's a long way and it shows 3 ton each nice one looking forward to the next one as always till next time happy easter guys
Watching this vid with my 8 month old boy, was kicking off but this instantly calmed him down. So thank you for the video, outstanding work as always and a nice little profit.
You can’t beat Autosmart for your products mate, try some Red7 next time for a paintwork decontamination this product will remove bonded on contamination over and above tar and glue remover. I’m glad you’ve ditched the devils sponge and got a hand mit, top work again
I often wondered why you sold under book and I understand now. Not being greedy stands you well. Just as long as theres a profit in for you. Well done £300 each for a days work thank you very much. Great content as always !
Smarts done you proud on those wheels, proper job and transformed the car. Nothing better than cleaning a dirty vehicle, you can see where you've been.
I really liked watching this and I think you did a first class restoration job on this tired looking BMW. Also, Rob, I admire your “leave room for someone else” comment. You are a gent, sir. Keep it up.
Good motto, to many people get greedy, everyone has overheads and need to earn a wage. Like the flipping a car in a day videos, go well with the longer projects. Great video as ever👍
Well done boys, that is how to polish up a profit. I have just cleaned both my cars and I am knackered! It is hard work and nobody can knock anyone who is willing to do a bit of graft to earn a bob or two. Keep the videos coming.
ROB CHRIS, Another top job,, quick to turn around,, wheels came up a treat,, I'm just pricing not so much a refurb,, a colour change, on my F30 m sport wheels,,, some want daft money,, I used to do powder coating for a living,, so I know what it entails,,, I know yours were, Diamond cut,,, but back to the bimmer,, came up nice,, glad you got a wage out of it, keep um coming,, stay safe all, 👍
Nice one guys... personally I don't mind the sponsorship, as long as it helps you grow then we all win. She sure came up well after abit of work.. Thanks for another great video. :)
Best way to be ( not greedy) that way you’ll allways make enough ... and have happy customers , and trade deals... I do the same as a electrician , never overprice jobs . Which is why I have customers that I have had for over 20 years .. be fair and you’ll allways be ok ...
Love your work pal, I’d love to see you use a snow foam attachment on your washer, tfr then a cpl snow foam hits and you will remove more contaminates and do far less damage to the paint work. I have noticed less scratching on my car since using this method. Two buckets and two sponges (clean/rinse) after two or three hits with foam cannon.. Keep up your honest straight approach to your work as you do and folk will que to buy from you. I’d buy from you over the phone unseen. That’s how good your reputation is 🏆
Total transformation interior & engine bay looks good boys this would be ideal for our dogs would have to be automatic though would also like rear camera awesome job you two chaps
Nice little earner 👍 Appreciate you like Autosmart products, but would highly recommend you give Bilt Hamber a go ... try their Autofoam (Snowfoam) Surfex HD (Multipurpose cleaner that can be heavily diluted) and Auto Wheels (Wheel cleaner/iron fallout remover) you won’t be disappointed and will make life easier when cleaning 👍
Great result from a bit of graft. You two lads are proving that hard work can be financially rewarding. Well deserved. Can't wait for next adventure. .
Rob for a one off clean you can use weak G101 to spray the carpet and agitate with a drill brush. A bissel spot clean pro is great for sucking up the mess but just use water in it
I had a BMW X5 2005 and I miss it everyday. Shouldn’t have sold it but I was only doing town driving so 18mpg was costing me £70 a week. Best car I have ever owned though. Great Video brought back some lovely memories
Top tip on cheap ebay wheel centres. Give them a few coats of lacquer before fitting as they will corrode in months otherwise. It should extend their life to a couple of years instead of 6 months. Oh, and ensure the metal tabs are tight as they usually aren't resulting in the metal cover falling off. And use a bit of heat to soften the plastic tabs and push them out a bit to stop the centres falling out of the wheels as they're usually very loose. Also petrol on a rag takes tar off in seconds. It just wipes it away.
Hi Rob,what a nice car to quick flip, especially in the colour.with the wheels refurbed it makes a difference straight away.i own one of those wash mitts you bought when auto smart was there, they are alot better to wash with, you and Chris cleaned the car well.
Lots of BMW X5’s used as school run hacks, get into a real state. This one cleaned up nicely, and in a popular colour combo. Like your ethos of leaving a tickle for the next man 👍😎
Bringing back some memories of my time as a Valetor with names like G101 and Tardis. I still think Autosmart tyre dandy aerosol is the best tyre shine I’ve used. Regarding the sponsorship, looks like a great product but, in my opinion, it dragged on a bit. I understand that you need to make us aware of the product but how would it work if you linked to the product website or another RUclips video that would explain everything about it ? Just a thought Rob and I know you wanted feedback from your subscribers. Keep up the good work and honest flips 👍
Great flip there mate. It doesn't happen very often though lol. I agree, I never pressure wash an engine, all you need is an EML light to come on afterwards and it can cause a heap of problems.
Rob one thing can be said mate. You and Chris never ask over the odds for the vehicles on the channel. Very fair prices charged, probably why they move on so quickly. Nice one as usual. 👍👍👍🏴
I'd never jetwash an engine compartment at all. Degreaser, brush and a very low-pressure dribble of water from a hose to make sure you aren't forcing water into anywhere it shouldn't go. Then get the whole area warm by running the engine to dry.
You’re spot on. Sell them at a decent price and your stock will move quickly AND people will come back to you. If you get greedy you end up with a yard full of motors and no customers 👍
Hi guys 😁. It never ceases to amaze me how people spend so much money on a nice car and then cannot be bothered to even clean them, a bucket of water and a cloth, and a vacuum just isn’t hard work.. some people obviously have to much money 💰.. well at least you earned money out of it because he was to lazy to do it👍.
Yes, but when you’re self employed you get Zero pay on days you take holiday, go doctors, go dentist, do accounts, edit the videos, basically “down time” dealing with admin or family commitments!
Used a carly in the past on an old BMW was spot on tbh, the old school life time sub one was better but understand why they made it monthly sub. Well worth money it will scan way more than a normal OBD and do far more.

Hey bud. Any chance you can save my merc e300 sport amg its leaking oil instantly
1 Thing on your interior cleaning, dont put gloss / silicon spray etc on the leather, Leather is supposed to be matt when properly clean not shiny
Silicon sprays are a big no no, and you're 100% right 👍
Definitely agree. Car washes seem to put the silicone on everything inside the car, drives me nuts!
I was jhst about to write same things
Good days money for a quick flip leave enough in it for the next trader what lovely kind words guys . You always come across so genuine to me no wonder why your Chanel is doing so well . Credit to you both keep the quality content coming please
Personally I don’t mind the sponsorship if it helps the dynamic duo continue!!!
It helps a lot Bud
Yes we just don't want the format to change aka wheeler dealers scenario
@@nrud2121 Bring back Edd!
"Leave a bit for the next guy". That's exactly right. That's why you guys are held in such high regard by everyone in the trade.
I see you've been practicing your ventriloquism, worked really well in the last few mins of the video, haha!
Hi Rob really enjoy your videos I’m Mechanic 46 years in the trade and counting you and Chris are grafters always look forward to your videos you’re a natural in front of the camera and Chris is a quite man but such an handy lad.

Rob, please keep the promotional stuff quick and simple.
Any long promotional selling puts me right off. 😀👍🏻
I agree. I understand the guys need the income, but it is sad to see another great channel fall to the sponsors and start having these long in-video ‘infomercials’.
The good thing about YT is that you can easily skip advertising
Agreed! 3 and a half minutes was a bit much. Easily skipped though.
Sometimes the ads do get a bit much 😉
I totally agree, the merchandise plugs are becoming too long & too frequent. The reason I became a fan was because it was 2 guys fixing cars but it’s slowly becoming another car show
Another great flip 🙃 way to go "leave enough in it for the next man" grest motto.
Great little result. Only comment on the interior cleaning if it hasn't already been mentioned, shiny leather looks worn out and like vinyl, just a simple clean would look better and maybe a quick treatment of leather feed
We just used a wet cloth they went mat once dry 👍
You have such a good variety of videos that I never get tired watching your channel, thanks to yourself and Chris..
Great job guys, and nice that you're mixing up flips and longer-term projects !
Keep 'em comin' !

Not a criticism, just advice - a lot of the detailers scrub the foot pedals clean which helps lift the drivers footwell.

I had a BMW X5 2005 and I miss it everyday. Shouldn’t have sold it but I was only doing town driving so 18mpg was costing me £70 a week. Best car I have ever owned though. Great Video brought back some lovely memories
Nice job, those wheels turned out stunning, going to make a note of that company, great video as usual 👍👍👍👍

Great video Rob, I didn't mind the ad, it helps these great videos coming, keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Love how the X5 Turned up!
Great video Rob :D
Wow what a transformation a bit of elbow grease can give, those refurbed wheels made a massive difference too. Great viewing
Wow that scrubbed up well chaps and love your values more of those needed by many people.

Nice car quick flip well done gents 👍🏻
Enjoyed that lovely motor and nice easy fund's.
Pretty good for a nine-year-old car, you certainly improved it no end, happy days!
