Just met your husband Rob at Alton. I was telling him that I had just completed the Portuguese Central Camino solo, and he told me about your adventure. This is something that’s next on my bucket list so I’m looking forward to hearing about your hike 😊
Lovely to know your home, Nikki. Im sure will catch up one day soon. I can only imagine how you must be feeling after such a huge daily life change being home. And i bet Robs happy your home! ❤well done!
Still getting through your TA vids, which I’m loving! Interested in your Europe bike packing trip if you are going to record that adventure. I joined the bike packing Australia fb group yesterday. I’d love to get into something different and figured I’ve already got all the gear apart from a suitable bike & accessories. I’m a bit wobbly on a bike & my butt gets sore so quickly so not sure how I’d go but I guess like walking, your body would get used to it.
Great informative video, thanks you. Would love to see another on your recovery, both physical and mental, post hike blues, tips and difficulties. Loved that you showed the reality of the adventure, highs, lows and the everyday. approach
Hello Nikki and Judy! We have watched several video series chronicling the TA and we just wanted to say that your videos have been our absolute favorites. Both of you are an inspiration and we'll continue to follow your adventures. Your positive attitudes and enthusiasm for the trail was something special to witness. Thank you for sharing this adventure with the world. I was curious about how you approached the video editing process. What software did you use? Did you have a template that you dropped everything into, and did you finesse the edit at all or just drop and done? Would also love to know if you'd have done anything differently with regard to the trail, fitness, food, gear, etc. How are you both feeling post trail? And, of course, we'd love to know how Judy's ankle is doing. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your adventure. It's been so enlightening to watch your experience. You are our heroes!
Hi thank you for your comments and support. We will be doing an update on how we both are soon and will talk about some of the things we have been asked, tips etc. with the filming I just used iMovie on my phone and what I filmed I just put it all together, no editing apart from snipping the end or beginning if fingers got in the way!!! 😃
I so enjoyed every part of your adventure. Thank you so much for taking the time to document it. I'm looking forward to your next sequel! See you soon. Much love, you are awesome! ❤❤❤❤❤
Wonderful gear account. Great map souvenirs. Ear buds?? Would you think of doing a health status review? The ailments that you experienced? The remedies. Etc ... Thank you for sharing. Helpful. Informative. And sometimes - (without you possibly realising), very funny. For example, even as you were going through your gear just now, and the way you shoved them off the table - drop! Made me think - did she have a neat tent space, and/or Hut space? 😀👌
That’s funny and I was actually very neat and tidy, everything put back in the same spot every time!! I’m going to do a photos and stats for the SI and when I catch up with Judy we may do a bit of an update, review of ailments and tips and tricks 😃
I have enjoyed watching your videos as part of my preparation for TA. What was your base weight at end of tramp. Am I correct in thinking you purchased the following on the trail. New rain coat, new blow up sleeping mat, 2 kompel tramping poles and a pack liner. Also how many pair of shoes did you wear out
Great video and well done from a NZ older woman tramper. Where is your food bag from? I’m keen to get one for the Larapinta which we are doing in July.
Hi Nikki, Sorry if I missed you saying this somewhere on your videos, but what hiking pants/trousers did you wear and were they any good? Thanks, Aileen

Thanks!!! Do you know how much weight you both lost in the South Island? I loved that stat at the end of your North Island adventure.
I’ll be doing a photos and stats video for the SI in the coming weeks 👍

Hi, there are 2 companies in Australia, Orb Ultralight and Ultralight Hiker. The food bag is the one with a zip 👍
Hi Nikki, Which sleeping bag did you use? I can't seem to find it online...
