Missed you gals! Glad to see you back 👏 Nice little overnighter 😊
Just like the TA days, great to see you both
@@chrisyoung4384 it was fun doing the video and we are hoping to do a 7 day walk in Australia towards the end of the year 😃
Woop Woop. The mean machine team are back on the trail.! Enjoyable following you guys, as always!
@@grahameharris5557 thank you and yes we both intend to keep on going as long as we can. Watch this space as we are planning a multi day walk in Australia later this year 🤪
Yay great to see you on a trail again.
@@mckoy59 thanks Kerry, bit rusty but that will only improve and we’ll be on an Australian trail later this year 🥾😃
Good to see the both of ya together back on the trails!
@@danielcobb8886 thank you and we are happy to be out there and more trails are up our sleeves! 😃
Great to see you both walking, laughing, enjoying nature and having an adventure again.
@@adelevickers2120 hi yes we still enjoy it all and later this year we hope to do the Cape to Cape in WA 😃👍
Woohoo 🥳 You’re back. ❤
@@JanisTilyard hello there to you too! And fingers crossed Judy and I will be doing a multi day walk in Australia later this year and I’ll be doing the Grampians with James in April 😃
Sitting here in Tekapo watching you guys x just like the old days.... That bush reminds me of our bush here. Great to see you both again.
@@kathrynmillardart thank you 🙏 and watch this space, plans are underway for us doing a trail in Australia later this year! Happy you enjoyed a bit of Australian bush 😃
@gnarlyadventures looking forward to that for sure 😊
Some great views and scenery on that walk. I think my favourite bit was the walk along the creek on the way back to Ubajee.
Judy's a legend, walked both the bike parts. I walked it as well but in a day, would not suggest that to anyone. 2nd time watching your journey
Lovely adventure but I was more impressed over the amount of alcohol you two can consume, I’d be falling off my bike after the first couple of days 😂😂😂😂
Loving your journey and am inspired to do the same. What time of year did you do the trip?
@@ConrailBishopstownSub1986 we did it in the month of September, not too hot and not too much rain, it rained heavily when we finished at the end of September 👍
Thanks folks, that makes sense, especially with schools being back in Europe.
Loved following you and Judy on the TA Trail and this tour has definitely been added to my bucket list. Good on you Nicki and Rob.
@@greggodde281 thank you 🙏 it’s good to mix it up a bit and Rob much prefers riding to hiking 😂
Understand the frustration getting into and out of cities as a friend and I have just completed a cycle tour in the UK.
@@greggodde281 slows down the pace but I guess that’s part of it and difficult to avoid
Good job ladies! Nice to see some ”older” ladies doing it - wow, an 11 hr day is epic! I'm 52 and am planning on walking the Alpine Route later this summer and your video was reassuring to me. Nice to see you going slow and steady, which is my style too. The 23 year olds who smash it out are frankly out of my league!
Sounds like Rob's BB bearings are still creaking. Great effort to do 105km!
Good laugh when Rob nearly mis-poured the wine.
That's a tough day with those headwinds. I rather bike over hills instead!
Special moment...
Incredible scenery.. Thank you
Just met your husband Rob at Alton. I was telling him that I had just completed the Portuguese Central Camino solo, and he told me about your adventure. This is something that’s next on my bucket list so I’m looking forward to hearing about your hike 😊
Well done Ladies...
Hi Ladies, can you advise what trail map app you used please? Thank You
@@DavidStevenson-pn4mf hi we used Farout and the TA trail app 👍
Hi Rob and Nicki. Finally got around to watching your RUclips videos of your cycling adventures, after meeting you both on the flight to the UK. Our cycle trip to France was awesome too. Very good effort. Thanks for sharing.
@@GrahamHill-r6o hi thanks and I’m happy to hear your trip in France was a success. Maybe for us next time! 👍
@@gnarlyadventures we are in Brisbane this weekend if you fancy meeting for a biking catch up and coffee on Sunday.
Nice one guys! You've been together for a long time. Do you have a throwback photo you can stick in a video? Cheers!
@@maljohnston3758 hi, will look for one and put up in our next bike tour 👍
Watching this has made my partner want to do a cycle tour. She will never be able to do TA due to bad knees, but she can ride a bike still. Thanks for sharing your journey yet again. And congrats
@@pj3635 that’s so good to hear. Rob too has not so good knees but has always been able to cycle which is why we did this trip to see how we like it. And we do but next trip the daily distances will be reduced to allow more time to enjoy each place we stay and also camp more. I wish you all the best for your trip with your wife 😀
Another wonderful episode Thankyou!
I agree with you both when you talked about how it’s more likely you’ll fall on great/easy trail. I do the same. It’s extremely rare for me to do it on hard trail but easy as you on nicely graded trail. The brain just switches off
❤
Loved your footage of the entire South Island in particular. Phenomenal effort. Well done to you both
This was the best TA Series! So fabulous to see women of my age group going after it. Have watched it 3 times now. Yes, every single Ep 3 time. Fantastic series. Well done to you both👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@50shikingaustraliajennywoo92 thank you. I miss walking the TA but intend to return and do sections of it again. Are you planning on doing it or have you done it already? 😀
Hi Nicki. Another great journey for you. Captivating viewing like the TA. Well done. Another trail crossed off the outdoors pursuits list. Go You. Take a rest now. 👍👍
@@grahameharris5557 thank you and happy you enjoyed watching. Certainly resting now before returning to Australia 😀
The road rules for cars giving away to bikes on the open road wouldn’t go down well in Brisbane, Nicky
Man you guys are hilarious!!! Loving following your journey. So beautiful ❤.
😂🎉
Great! Have a nice/save trip both off you.
@@geertjevandenbergh7972 thank you 🙏 we are having fun and lots of eating and drinking! 😂
Good on you Judy for thuggin out that ankle injury 🫡
Whose idea was this trip Nicky 😂
@@johnjordan4647 Rob is the cyclist 🚴♂️ I’m a novice! 😂
🙌🙌🙌 Go you guys.
@@JanisTilyard it’s so much harder for me but I’m giving it my best!!! 2 more days and we should get to the hook of holland 🤪
😂
Hey Nicky swap the bike for a kayak . A la the Whanganui River on the Ta Araroa. 😂Nice current on the Rhine = easy paddling 👍
@@johnjordan4647 current on the Rhine I think is deceptively evil. Have not seen anyone kayaking it!!! I’ll stick to the bike path 😂
Hahaha you guys crack me up. Robert with his bed hair and the odd wee slip of the tongue, makes you come across as perfectly normal 😂😂 And I love the way you humour him Nikki. Anyway I am loving following your journey. As I loved following you on the TA here in NZ.
Thank you for the smile on my face 😁.
Hey Nicky When you stop at they various hotels do they have somewhere that you can safely store your bikes
@@johnjordan4647 hi, we purchased a Eurovelo 15 booklet on line and it includes information on biker friendly accommodation where your bikes are locked into a room or garage but even places we’ve found on our own are very good at finding a safe spot for the bikes 👍
You were obviously meant to stay in basil 😂
Hey Nicky that ferry across the river looked very familiar to the one that you and Judy took across at Opua when you did the Te Araroa
@@johnjordan4647 another short ferry trip and unlike the TA we won’t be walking (pushing bikes) through water 😂
Enjoying your vids🎉
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 You two are hilarious. Loving the trip, scenery, logistics and exhaustion hilarity.
Love that youre both still giggling! What do you do with your bikes at night?
@@anort8160 the bikes are either close to our tent or stored in garages if we stay in accommodation. We don’t leave the bikes unattended when they are fully packed with all our stuff 👍
Stunning visuals! The landscapes are so beautifully shot. Can’t wait to see more! 👍25
