As you probably now know Georgia Moffat (now Georgia Tennant) who played Jenny is David's wife. She has joked "I can't get away from Doctor Who. My dad was the Doctor (Peter Davison, the 5th doctor) and my best friend growing up had a dad who was the Doctor (Colin Baker, 6th doctor). I thought everyone's dad was the Doctor. Then I appeared on Doctor Who where I met my husband." She and David have 5 children. Their oldest Ty Tennant (David's adopted son) has acted in both House of Dragons & in a scene in Good Omens series 2 with both his dad and grandfather, Peter Davison. Their oldest daughter, Olive was in Belfast. Their next oldest child, Wilfred is named after Bernard Cribbins' character, Wilfred Mott (Donna's grandfather.) Georgia has said that others of their kids are also named after Bernard Cribbins but hasn't given any other specifics. Georgia and David have one child who is nonbinary and both have been LGBT advocates and advocates for trans kids.

Guys, there’s a series you’ll find on RUclips called “Tales of the TARDIS,” which are a number of short episodes re uniting classic Doctor Who companions with their own respective classic Doctors! As you haven’t seen Classic Who, they won’t be so poignant to watch as they are to us oldies, but the latest one they’ve released (a few days ago) shows various clips from each of the four episodes of a 1975 4th Doctor (Tom Baker) story called “Pyramids of Mars.” The villain in this story is Sutekh, who as you know, has just returned to plague the Doctor again in the new season!
“Pyramids of Mars,” is a wonderful gothic masterpiece of classic Doctor Who where Tom Baker is at the top of his game, ably assisted by his then companion, Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) whom you met in the season two episode, “School Reunion.” Please take a look at it to acquaint yourselves with Sutekh the Destoyer before the finale of next weeks season 14, as well as giving you your first taste of Classic Who!

As always: DW lore and canon are fluid with these terms, but just to clarify: "Timelord" is a rank a "Gallifreyan" (the actual name of their race now, in the past they may have called themselves Shobogan) can achieve, but somewhat confusingly its often used interchangeably with the species. (probably because nobody cares about non TL Gallifreyans lol) A Timelord is a "super human" version of their race, genetic alterations and much more happen to become a Timelord. And they are the ruling class - the Doctor is basically a noble who never much liked nobility or status.

So, I think this was a great episode, and I want to mention some things. First, in this episode the Doctor tells Donna he has been a father before (which makes sense since he has a grand-daughter). But in the most recent episode of Doctor Who ("The Legend of Ruby Sunday" with Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor) he says he has a grand-daughter but doesn't have kids yet (suggesting the doctor met his future grand-daughter before having kids). But this doesn't make sense. Also, the actress playing the Doctor's daughter here is Georgia Moffett (who not only went on to be David Tennant's wife in real-life, but she is also the real-life daughter of Peter Davison who played the 5th Doctor in the 80s). Just wanted to mention that fun fact. Lastly, in this episode we find out this war went on for generations but only lasted a week (because soldiers were dying so much and more kept coming out of those machines, so over time they forgot how long the war actually was). But all of them were young and the general was old, and unless they age fast too he must have been their at the beginning and new how long the war actually was. But it didn't seem like he did. That is just something I didn't get.

    • @HuntingViolets
      @HuntingViolets 8 дней назад

Even if he were there at the beginning of the week, it might seem longer to him (since it was his whole life), or he could have come out of the machine looking older to take on the role of general from one who had recently been killed.

i would say in theory since Jenny was just born we could repeat what 10 said in his first episode... he was in the first 24 hours of his regeneration so he was able to regrow his hand so Jenny might have just healed from that instead of needing to regenerate. In terms of Jenny shes not the first female time lord. while shes kind of a clone of the doctor its more like an offspring.... in classic who we had his grand daughter and he also traveled for a while with another female timelord so its not like that was an out there concept.... however i dont think there was a single black timelord in all of classic who so yea....

There is another Doctor Who Omniverse show that no one ever talks about.
It is called 'Class' and while it wasn't as good as all of the other shows, it was interesting.
Don't watch until you are in the era of the 12th Doctor.

I also want to mention, I don't think Jenny (the Doctor's daughter) regenerated. It's possible, but I actually think it was the terra forming gasses (or energy) the Doctor released that brought her back (the energy that came out of her looked the same yellow and green as the terra forming gasses, and not the solid yellow regeneration energy). Plus, she stayed the same and didn't change her face. I will say though, the Master's regeneration energy was not just yellow but an aray of colors, so whoes to sayJenny didn't regenerate based on the colors she produced. And maybe she didn't change her face for the same reason the Doctor grew his hand back. After a Time Lord regenerates they have a certain amount of time with some extra regeneration energy that can be used to heal. So, maybe that also goes for being born (either the natural way or the way she did). But because the energy (or gasses, whatever you want to call it) she produced looked exactly like the terra forming energy, I think that it either healed her or brought her back. I do like to think it did jump-start her regenerations though.

Yes, I think it's basically up to the audience. Even when RTD or one of the writers takes a stand, I pretty much go by Word of God is not canon and only take it on as my headcanon if it appeals to me.

  • @Persewna4

The fact that the Doctor's Daughter was portrayed by the (5th) Doctor's daughter is so on the nose! I don't think she actually regenerated at the end though, I think the chemicals from the Source, terraforming the planet, were able to revive her because she does have Time Lord DNA and was maybe not AS dead as a human would have been (she was only mostly dead, lol). That's why her appearance doesn't change.
I agree that what they gave Martha to do in this episode was lackluster compared to her season and, although I love Martha, I wish they hadn't included her in this episode. It kind of felt like the writers had her get captured just to get her out of the way of the main plot, since Jenny ended up joining Donna and the Doctor. It kind of reminds me of The Girl in the Fireplace, where Mickey just joined the duo only to spend his first adventure in the Tardis basically just wandering an abandoned spaceship. The main difference there is that Rose was paired off with him so we do get to see some character moments between them, with Rose taking charge in the Doctor's absence and showing off for Mickey. Whereas for Martha, she was stucking with fish people who talk in bubbles...
The rest of this season is SO GOOD, I am so excited for it. One of my absolute favorite episodes ever is coming up, I personally think it's even better than Blink so I am eagerly anticipating that one! Personally I feel that this episode, The Doctor's Daughter, is the weakest episode in Season 4, and even then it has some good scenes, particularly with Donna, Jenny, and the Doctor.
Also I never noticed how often they show that hand-in-a-jar until you pointed it out! Interesting...

    (possible spoiler)
There were concerns about the change to a female doctor, which mostly had to do with changing the formula of the Doctor / Companion Dynamics.
True story, the true focus of the show is on the companions of the Doctor, not the Doctor.
The whole idea of the show was space travel through the eyes of the companion, so that audiences could have someone to identify with.
The formula is to have this alien character to take attractive female companions with him.
That completely changes with a female doctor.
Having pushback at the news of a female doctor is one thing.
However the real reason why the show suffered in the ratings was because the writing and the performances were terrible.
It was because Chris Chibnall took over as executive and he never cared about the continuity of the the show. He turned the show into Doctor Who the Hell is This?
The writing suffered so Chibnall tried to bring back characters to get nostalgic points but those characters continuity were scrapped.
He even brought back a character who should not have able to comeback while not even trying to explain how said character overcame a fate that became a fixed point in time.

Yeah i have to say i'm not the biggest fan of Series 4 Martha, apart from the one emotional scene where the Hath saves Martha sacrifices himself and drowns she didn't really do much in this episode i didn't see the point of her being in this episode.
Social media back in 2008 facebook was around but was the new at the time and bebo which no longer exists and someone correct me if i'm wrong i don't think twitter was around then either not until atleast the 2010's.
An idea for a female Doctor back in 2008 wasn't something the producers, writers or the fans considered too seriously the world wasn't yet ready for a female Doctor because it was assumed and insisted the Doctor was a male character though it nearly happened back in the 80's but it was an april fool's joke.
