I LOVED her on ER. I was so thrilled when she entered Who. When I saw she was going to be in a 2 parter I literally "SQUEEEEE!!!" Spoilers with her voice is ICONIC for me.
Yes, that's the thing with Steven Moffat episodes - ordinary things like statues and shadows will never seem the same again! Also, I'm glad you like the name Vashta Nerada - it's always been my favourite, somehow. Gives you chills.
The actress who played Ms. Evangelists recently got married to actor Thomas Brodie-Sangeter. Brodie-Sangater played Johen Reed in Game of Thrones. He also played Tim Latimer in the Doctor Who two parter “Human Nature” and “Family of Blood”

The Prince in Hellboy 2 was Nuada, named after an Irish god. The name Vashta Nerada may sound similar but no direct connection. I love your reactions by the way and the deep analysis that always follows. You guys really get into the flesh and bones of what makes the show great (and Moffat always puts plenty of meat on the bones)
I remember the first time I watched it I had to immediately rewatch it. The joy I'm getting watching these guys discover it for the first time is immeasurable.
The David Tennant era was the best stretch of Dr. Who in that franchise's history. Classic! Can you review the TV series, From, starring Harold Perrineau? It's like the Walking Dead meets Lost.

Welcome to the best two parter of the season. Silence in the Library and Forrest of the Dead are two of my top favorite episodes. I can’t wait for you to unravel more of River Songs story. I think that she’s probably one of the most brilliantly written characters the show has ever introduced. I can’t wait for Forrest of the Dead. 😃
Between the next few episodes and specials…you’re in for some of Tennant’s best, prime Doctor Who. Next season is the start of Moffat’s run as showrunner and he really is setting up his run from here.
I adore watching you guys chew over this episode. I can’t wait to see your reaction to next episode. This is A+ Who and the roller coaster is just heading up the first hill.
Two visual echoes from the late 60s here and I often have wondered, every time I see this, if the Grand Moff saw these also and stored in that great brain of his. One, DC Comics "The Bride Cast Two Shadows": The Flash must exorcise from a young woman's body the spirit of a bride dead for a hundred years, who was engaged to a double for Barry Allen. The Flash #194 is an issue of the series The Flash (Volume 1) with a cover date of February, 1970. It was published on December 4, 1969. which I bought from a little newsagents in Suffolk in about March 1970. The woman cast two shadows, her own and the bride. And Two: An episode of Scooby Doo: Where Are You? called "Spooky Space Kook" Scooby, Shaggy and the gang find themselves on an abandoned military base where they see a UFO and then a glowing alien. The alien is actually a walking, cackling space suit with a glowing skull. Ring some bells I wonder, Moffat ol' lad?
For the record a million million is the old english numerical system which is about the equivalent of billion in old english give or take. In some cases its a trillion, usaully in in the USA and financial or politics Its not used anymore and the UK adopted the US numerical system as it was simpler. But in the Doctor who universe its still used.
In early Maths a million million is a billion, but in financial / political / USA terms a billion is only a thousand million and a million million would be a trillion
River Song. The absolute best of the best. Love Alex Kingston. This and the next episode is good to come back to once you know all the info about River

This isn’t really a spoiler, though nothing in this two-parter contradicts the idea, but Moffat revealed in a 2020 Doctor Who Magazine article that according to internal correspondence during production of series 4, Doctor Moon was intended to be a future version of the Doctor, specifically the 45th, (I don’t know whether they’ve already recorded their reaction to Forest of the Dead so I hesitate to explain exactly how that works, and so I’ve chosen to leave it unexplained until that video gets uploaded,) moreover in this same article Moffat posits that the idea that Moon is the Doctor could still work in canon.

River Song. She becomes the best character EVER. Now I don't know if it is just me, but I don't remember the term "spoilers" being used before this episode. Now it has become part of the lexicon. Alex Kingston's contribution to world culture. That and "Hello Sweetie."
I highly enjoy seeing new viewers speculate on this two parter. It’s so interesting to see how creative everyone is, what they observe, what they think may or may not be important, etc. I highly appreciate you and Rekkai doing the whole “tin foil hat” breakdown, trying to see what could be! 😂

Now we are in it, these next episodes are some of the best ones yet! I honestly find the Vashta Nerada to be the scariest monsters yet, I think because they pkay directly on that fear of the dark, the fear of what you can't see - and they have no weakness. The Weeping Angels are interesting and almost tragic in their solitude, that they can never be observed by each other, and while they do transport you to the past, you can continue to live a life, if not the one you would have had without them. These shadows, though, you're dead in an instant. A morbid thought, but I wonder if they eat their prey so quickly, at what moment do they go from being alive-and-eaten to dead-and-devoured? 😵💫 It happens so fast that their brain wave echoes can't even comprehend their death... It's funny, but up until this episode it felt like "Spoilers!" was itself a bit of a spoiler, so if nothing else it'll be good to reference that freely! I cannot wait to see your reactions to the next one, to see what you got right, what you got wrong, and what you never saw coming! Let's just say there was one prediction here that really surprised me!
I watched Hellboy but I don't remember the fairies. I didn't know that The Vashta Narada were in that. Moffat is kind of like Neil Gaiman and Steven King.I need to rewatch Hellboy.
Right or wrong, I like the way u guys are beginning to think and it doesnt seem like it now but the way u boys are letting bits of story branch out to new avenues of thinkng is exactly the right thing to do because of Steven Moffat and what he brings to the table in the coming future
