This was an amazing tie-in to the original legendary 1984 Secret Wars comic book series! Loved this book! Was amazed at how much story and action that they got into this book! It should have been a double issue because it was that good! Plus, you got to see how really dangerous and strong Thor really is! Without the Avengers, the Mighty Thor was slugging it out with several of the Avengers' most dangerous enemies all by himself and was kicking that Marvel villain ass all over the place!
That's a good point. You really do see what a "warrior born" Thor truly is in that battle. You don't often see him cut loose like he did here. Certainly made for an exciting issue. Thanks for you comment (all of them, that is).
One of the reasons that Thor holds back a lot is because the Avengers, by and large, are a superhero peace keeping force that's NOT trying to kill their villains, unless they absolutely have to. It's in their Avengers' charter since day one. So, Thor pulls his shots against a lot of the Avengers' villains. Oh, he's still trying to knock you out and physically hurt you, if you're an Avengers villain, but NOT in a lethal way.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this story! My favorite Thor story of all time! Absolutely cool! What a great untold Secret Wars story!
One of my favorite Thor comic books of all time! This was insanely great! When I finish reading it, I was SO upset that here wasn't even more! Didn't want this to end!
LOVED Ron Frenz's amazing John Buscema inspired and themed artwork! And Dallius The Daring should have his own comic book series! Too great a character to just be forgotten and left in stone. Great writing here as well.
This Thor comic book issue should have been included in the later trade paperbacks of the original Secret Wars saga. I'd buy it yesterday if it was.
Just wished that the super villain battle was longer and that this was a double issue! Very cool!
LOVE your video on this book. Insanely well done and entertaining. Thank you for your time and energy.
My pleasure.
One of the reasons that the Enchantress might've been super angry with her sister here was that she just found out that her sister got with the real love of her life, Thor. Oh, that'd make any regular woman super-insane. I'm surprised the Enchantress didn't run her baby sister into a frog for saying that. LOL.
Geez. I forgot Ultron has a nuclear-powered battery. He could've exploded and ended them all. LOL.
Wait a minute. Did Lorelei just say that she slept with Thor and Loki? Wow. I missed that point in all the times that I read this book. So, she's had kings and princes and brothers. Wow. That's crazy. And I didn't remember the Enchantress hooking up with Heimdall! What issue did that take place in?
A great issue! Ties into Secret Wars. Also Frenz has strong influence from John Buscema. Thanks for the recap! When comics were great!
Yeah, as I said in the video, I was surprised they took an "untold" tale from the past, to showcase the new creative team, but it really worked and was a perfect fit into the timeline of Secret Wars. And yeah, Frenz style is a nice blend of "Big John" and Kirby. Breeding is his best inker, too. Thanks for your comments, as always.
Hey! I have a friend who drew for Marvel UK named Jeff Aclin. He's another with a strong John influence. He did a classic Captain Mar-vell cover and some Marvel Team Up here. Great artist.
