Hi!
After I added the HUB to my router, can I use the doorbell (and the HUB) without ethernet cable? As you show in the video?
So if I disconnect the ethernet from the hub, does it work perfectly? Can communicate the doorbell with the hub and with my phone?
Thanks!
Dear @91bozso14.
Thanks for checking out the channel! The doorbell is working wirelessly (without the ethernet cable). It is viewable using the Tapo app.

thanks for this video. Does this able to connect to Google Home? So when someone ring the doorbell it can appear in my hub?
I am looking for the same answer, have you found out friend?
Don’t bother with google doorbell. It’s so laggy and feeds don’t appear on my hub.
Did you find the answer? Does it show on the hub? Because I could replace my current google nest doorbell
Hi! Do you know if the doorbell is able to be connected without the battery? directly to a kind of plug or not?
Dear @manuelsegarra3484,
Thanks for checking out the channel! The doorbell works on battery only.

Not possible. Even the usb connector to charge battery is on the battery itself and battery has to be outside to charge.
hi, any idea on how to D230s1 connection to pc software (eg ispy) for remote viewing ?
Hello, after setting up will you be able to use without wifi connection? Example, if I accidentally turn off wifi will it still works? Thanks
Dear @domo9k,
Thanks for checking out the channel! If the WiFi is turned off, the Doorbell camera will be offline; so it can't be viewed and recording will be stopped.

does it auto show video feed on alexa echo device when someone ring? does ai detection works on home storage or only by subscribing to their cloud?
Dear @LebDusty,
Thanks for checking out the channel! Video feed is on the Tapo App and notifications will appear on the phone.
No subscriptions needed as we used our own Micro-SD card and not Tapo services for the recordings.

Hi! I set up my doorbell already but may I know why I am unable to view any video images at my doorbell please?
Dear @shiontan8057,
Thanks for checking out the channel! Try moving the hub closer to the doorbell. The live video should be able to be viewed via the Tapo app, unless the signal is very weak.
We were also to view the doorbell using the Mobile data on the phone outside.

Hi, thanks for the video! How do I know when the battery needs to be charged? Do I get a sign on my phone? Do I always know the battery level?
I'd also like to know a tip, (besides the alarm that beeps when someone will try to remove the bell, but I guess it will be eventually removed...) to protect it from theft. Thanks again, greatings from Athens, Greece
Dear @pkatsab,
Thanks for checking out the channel! The app shows the battery level all the time and will also notify if the battery is low.
If theft occurs, there is nothing we can do about it, so it's important to have a micro-SD in the hub so that all events are recorded. (the hub is in the house and not on the doorbell).
Moreover, we can set notifications "On", so whenever motion or a person is detected and if determined to be a theft in progress, we can broadcast messages that the police has been notified! (this feature is built in the Tapo app)

Hi, thanks creating this great video which was very well made. The TP link staff at the local e-commerce platform gave half baked & wrong replies. Hence I have some questions and hope to hear from you.
(1) During setup, the hub is connected to the electrical plug for power source and at the same time the ethernet cable is connected from router to the hub. Hence, after the setup is done, you removed the ethernet cable.
Does the ethernet cable from router need to be connected to the hub when the doorbell is in use 24/7? Can It be disconnected permanently since Tapo is connected to the wifi?
(2) May I use the bedroom electrical switch to connect to the hub even though the door bell at the living room?
(3) is it possible that i don’t have to use the hub and there is a sd card slot on the doorbell (eg Tapo indoor cam c210 has a card slot underneath)?
(4) i intend to paste it on the wood door, do i need to put the wedge piece after pasting the adhesive plate?
Is it heavy?
(I am not sure if i can take it off easily to recharge the battery if i do not drill the doorbell to the door.)
Apologies for the queries as I am considering it for parents’ older hdb which has very limited numbers of electrical switches but prefer sd card storage. Thank you!
Dear @cfmerli,
Thanks for checking out the channel! The answers to the questions are embedded:
1. Does the ethernet cable from router need to be connected to the hub when the doorbell is in use 24/7? Can It be disconnected permanently since Tapo is connected to the wifi?
Once it's setup properly, the ethernat can be removed since the Hub is already wirelessly connected to the network.
2. May I use the bedroom electrical switch to connect to the hub even though the door bell at the living room?
Yes, provided the wireless signal is strong enough between the router, hub and doorbell.
3. is it possible that i don’t have to use the hub and there is a sd card slot on the doorbell (eg Tapo indoor cam c210 has a card slot underneath)?
The doorbell does not have any SD card slot. Having the SD card on the hub has the advantage of keeping the recording should anyone removes the doorbell - the hub is in the house!
4. i intend to paste it on the wood door, do i need to put the wedge piece after pasting the adhesive plate?
Is it heavy?
Would recommend using the screws rather than using double sided tape. We removed the original (HDB) doorbell switch and was able to use the exisiting bracket to screw on the doorbell (just 1 screw)
The wedge is needed if the doorbell needs to be tilted to get a better view of the corridor. The doorbell is easily removed by the Pin (as shown in the video). Recommend getting a spare battery so there is no downtime of using the doorbell.

Hi does this have 24/7 recording? & Do we need any subscriptions?
Dear @premprem9634,
Thanks for checking out the channel! This only records when they detect movement. The Doorbell uses battery so it's not practical to record 24/7.
No subscriptions needed as we used our own Micro-SD card and not Tapo services for the recordings.

`Since the ""update", the tapo app only shows cameras and vacuums and automation. No way to attach this device.
Dear @Diamondphobe,
Thanks for checking out the channel! Ensure that the Hub is setup first before adding the doorbell. Without the hub setup, Doorbell cannot be selected for setup.

Why i can't connect hub 200 to my phone tapo app? Can you help me ?
Thanks. Do i need a sd card. Can i use wothout sd .
Also does the hub ring too or is it steiaght to phone only
Dear @user..Aa..Bb..,
Thanks for checking out the channel! The micro-SD card is on the H200 hub, if not sd card is used, then the doorbell can be viewed but no recording is done.
Only the Hub rings when doorbell is pressed. However, can set notifications via the Tapo app so the phone will get the alerts when motion is detected.

Can I use a 512GB micro SD Card?
According the Tapo app I have to insert a 258 GB SD card Class 10 or higher.
I saw this on the internet:
Recommended MicroSD Card:
Type SDHC / SDXC
Speed Class Class 10 or higher V10 or higher UHS 1 or higher
Format FAT32
Capacity For Kasa Cams: 8GB - 256GB
For Tapo Cams/Hubs: 8GB - 512GB
Use Case Smart Video Surveillance High/Max Endurance
According this information the Capacity can be from 8GB to 512 GB for Tapo Cams/Hubs. Is this true or do I need max. 258 GB for the Hub H200?
Dear @jackrutten1172,
Thanks for checking out the channel! The official spec states maximum supported micro-SD card capacity to be 256GB. We are using 256GB card.
Can always try using 512GB but not sure if it will work properly, so use at own risk.

update: managed to skip the firmware update, by selecting 'Add another Device' after setting up the Hub. Instead of going back to dashboard and select the doorbell manually.
