If you guys want some help with a project this coming summer, I know a bunch of handy hands with tools that would be happy to converge on Bogota next summer just for the fun of it. People from all over the country - as far as southern California to me up in southern Maine. I'd probably ride my Softail down and dedicate one saddlebag for tools.

I wish my son and daughter would spend time with me but that is another story. They are in their 20's chasing the corporate ladder. Be blessed and I am glad that I found your channel!!

Watching you guys take me back to my teens. I am 77 yrs. young, and loved building hot rods between 14 & 21 yrs, of age. I had a 38 ford 3 window coupe, with an olds engine in it. Went into the Navy at 18, that was the end of my hor rodding days. Enjoy watching your projects, Merry Christmas to you all,(Wish I had that 38 Ford today"

My name is Herman Grantadams . Really enjoy the video on the 1952 GMC . My dad had one with the chrome grill and passed it over to me in the 1973 . I drove it to school and enjoyed the vehicle . 1989 I sold the truck to a friend that wanted one to restore . the trucks original miles 22000 miles . I miss the old truck and wish I never sold the truck

just droppin' a line to say thank you for your videos. My dad had a 79 Z/28 that he special ordered brand new (cost like 9K back in that day!) and it ended up sitting in our carport for the longest. I know we were going to rebuild it back to new but he died on the job when I was 15. I am 37 now and you guys give me an insight on what it would have been like. My mother sold it to my uncle a long time back and I wish she would have never done so. I've been trying to get it back, but with no luck. Looking forward to the next video!

You guys are not only great but you bring back many fond memories of me and my dad working together.
It was in the late 60's and I was probably 9-10 years old when he bought a 61 Chevy truck with a bad motor. We replaced it with a 59 Pontiac V8. There were tons of problems. I don't remember them all but I think we swapped the 59 Pontiac for another Pontiac, then again for something else and again when the crankshaft broke, and I mean broke in two pieces. I was with him going down the highway when it grenaded without warning.
By that time we knew every inch of that truck and when he gave the word to pull the trans or motor I would grab the exact tools needed and dive in or under. No running to and from the tool box. We had the routine down. I remember he drove it home one evening and we started pulling the motor right away. We had it on the ground so fast we had to let it cool before we could tear it down. I don't remember all the reasons but I know we went through several used motors, transmissions, and overhauled one or two. He used the truck in the oil field and he used it hard. We didn't have a lot of money and there was a little shade tree machining along the way that probably caused some of those problems I didn't like to see my dad struggle so I did everything I could to be the best helper and junior mechanic possible, and working along side my dad back then taught me more than I could have ever imagined. I sure miss him and those days working together.

Glad to see the engine swap . Not something anyone loves doing, but it's worth it. You guys do a lot for sure. I see your old VW Bus done in comic graphics it looks like. Great stuff. The VW with the old style wheels. When I first saw this truck I saw what may have been the intent just to do it in pure white and black enamel. Be very classy looking as you said. I feel like I'm doing the work as you do exactly the right things, and I get to watch. My oldest project was a 1953 Austin Healey . I'm a fan, thanks again.

Sorry I missed the live stream. I remember swapping out engines once. Took out a 302 and a beefy 289 down in its spot. It was so beefed up that it took 2 batteries to start it up. That's a real nice Chevy. It will definitely burning some rubber of it. Thanks for sharing guys.

You may want to just shave your intake manifold and then fiberglass bond and paint it for a clean look, coils covers, or coil harness extender are other ways of doing handing the coils. I did this swap into my 1966 Chevy truck 10 years ago, I did a rewire using a pin out diagram myself using the stock harness, I had more time than money. I appreciate the way a father and son do get along while build these projects. From An Old School has been great job.

Always enjoy watching n re-watching y’alls videos. No fussing n cussing no drama. I especially like the fact that it’s a father/son endeavor. Usually the father son duos revolve around daddy trying to make up for not being there when the son was growing up due to booze/drugs/prison or all three, but u two show what living a life that revolves around Christ driven beliefs and principles that are truly lived daily not just talked about Sunday morning then put away once u leave the church house. I’m curious but what denomination are you fellas? Myself I’m southern baptistwith a streak of Pentecostal!!!
