The ambiguity in the Nigerian judiciary is an artificial creation of the system to protect the most powerful people in the country. Mr Ajayi's submission is a proof to the claims by Dele Farotimi that the security agencies protect the powerful and the Nigerian courts gives justice to the rich. It’s unfortunate to see so much bias and lack of understanding in these comments. The points made by the two speakers were straightforward and enlightening. Why do some people choose to focus on causing discontent instead of engaging constructively? For context, Mr. Dele Farotimi made remarks about Chief Afe Babalola, who subsequently reported the matter to the police. The police acted on the report, and now some are complaining. Let’s be clear: Mr. Farotimi has the right to freedom of speech, but that does not mean his rights supersede someone else’s right to seek redress if they feel wronged. He further said that he lives in the US and he is not ready to come back and live in Nigeria.
Mr. Dele Farotimi made a mistake by failing to get legal advice before publishing the book. Though he might have, he might have also anticipated that the hit would not come so swiftly. There is a law in Nigeria if someone pursues it properly and has a defence. Mr Dele Farotimi and Aare Afe Babalola both have the right to defend themselves. There should be no emotion when it comes to a court case. Evidence should be presented, and it should be the most important aspect of any case. It took the dude 11 years to write the book. Obviously, he’s got his plot. He also understands that the law in Nigeria is controlled by the people he’s fighting against. There’ll almost be a no way out.
@ there should be no settlement out of court. They should have an open and unbiased investigation/judgement. Which of course he will not get. There is a law in Nigeria if someone pursues it properly and has a defence. Mr Dele Farotimi and Aare Afe Babalola both have the right to defend themselves.
There should be no emotion when it comes to a court case. Evidence should be presented, and it should be the most important aspect of any case.
Mr Dele Farotimi is a lawyer, and he will undoubtedly defend himself if he has all of the proof to back up his claim; otherwise, he will face the penalties, or they may settle out of court.
It took the dude 11 years to write the book. Obviously, he’s got his plot.
He also understands that the law in Nigeria is controlled by the people he’s fighting against. There’ll almost be a no way out.
They will not allow him to settle out of court all this social media lawyers and supporters
@ there should be no settlement out of court. They should have an open and unbiased investigation/judgement. Which of course he will not get.
If Afe Babalola trained most of the lawyers in Nigeria, you can see the results by the judges/justice systems in Nigeria today.
Even without a trial, Dele Farotimi is right. The babalola approach shows that he’s part of the problem, but he was trying to go with unmerited respect. Dele has done well
@@DennisJack-we9sq Let him proof the aligation against Are Afe
@@enisanajigbade5722 don’t intimidate him by keeping him in shackles before he proves himself. Will Afe be kept in shackles if Dele sues him?
Let dem forward this case to another state on a neutral ground for proper case
This woman- why so biased, I’m tired of people being too emotional Nigerians need to learn how to reason from first principles, be independent thinkers, stop crowing sourcing
Imagine saying Nnamdi Kalu was ‘arrested’ in Kenya.
Where was he arrested?
Sure the Western hand is on it because Kenya government and Nigeria government play there role well
One of the reasons why we younger ones should leave this country is so that our elderly ones should reap the fruits of the seed of corruption sown by them. I don't expect any better from an old man from Ekiti. Of course he will support his own.
This ex Ekiti AG is misinterpreting the law to suit his boss. This are some of the problems we are facing
The law is the law. It's not obidient sentiments.Yes, there's free speech, free publishing, human rights yen yen yen...BUT there is also accountability for your actions, "free" talk or publication. DF should know better than making the reckless statements he makes all the time
Biased lawyer
Why is Channel News avoiding The report on Wikileaks ?
Nigeria laws are complex for complex wild minds to comprehend. This is wild in Nigeria cause of wild corruption in the country. Nigerians. are capitally corrupted.
No, you took Dele Farotimi to prison rather court for redress.
If he did corrupted the judiciary. He should be arrested and charged too
