this album is just better than any vapor wave album ever. every single vapor wave album is just slowed down oldies with reverb and delay, but this was cut, re organized, re arranged, and added elements so beautifully, the choice of samples and parts of samples to use and where theyre used is so genius and unique, this album is the most known for a reason even tho most people just say its overhyped, its a masterpiece

I know we all talk about vaporwave making us feel nostalgic for a time of our lives that we never really lived or experienced but now when I listen to this album, I get genuinely nostalgic for 2015, the year that I was obsessed with vaporwave and listened to this album on my old little ipod nano almost every day. I was still in high school and was living some of the best and most fondly remembered moments of my life and didn't even know it :') so much more innocence and wonder for the world. When I listen to this, it nurtures my 'child self' and comforts me so much. Although I now realise how unsettling the music really is in nature. At the time I was just edgy and thought this was the shit. It still slaps, but it gives me an oddly unsettling feeling in this day and age, where an end and collapse in our conceivable civilisation feels even more possible and in fact inevitable than it did in 2015.... Maybe I just didn't see it, but I have a feeling even the nostalgic cynicism of the vaporwave pioneers could never really conceive of the world we live in today, and how relevant and perfect a soundtrack these albums would become to the crumbling comforts of the 'old world' in this year of 2021.
'There's nobody here' feels more like a ghost whisper of humanity into a post-mass extinction event than anybody's gleefully naive minds would have imagined in 2009.

I think what sets this apart form other vaporwave is not only how unique and meticulously arranged and chopped it is, but the entire thing is *coherent*. It flows. It never stops feeling good to nod your head to and never becomes difficult to understand or stick with. Years of vaporwave and it's progression have seen this album continue to shine as arguably the best vaporwave project of all time.

Most vaporwave historians put the beginning of vaporwave at "Eccojams, vol. 1". You can also argue it had its roots in the Chillwave and Chopped & Screwed genres as well, which has been a thing since the 90's. Either way, Macintosh Plus is the beginning of vaporwave becoming known in wider culture, and at the same time, the death of vaporwave.

Hell yea bro back when I was 15 ( im 20 now) me and my buddies played modded minecraft with over 200+ custom mods and one of them was custom music discs, so we had 420 Macintosh plus and some other shit IN MINECRAFT AS DISCS. Shit was cool but everybody is pretty distant now. Sad sad sad

I had NO idea there was an hour-long version of this album. How many versions of this album are there?
Probably dozens of different versions now. It's a landmark album that was pretty mysterious at the time, so it makes sense that alternate versions with extra tracks would circulate.

@@tiaflies If you like this, I recommend you check out some other early vaporwave artists such as Internet Club. I'm not sure how well-versed you are in the genre, but Vektroid (who created this album) and Internet Club are still making music almost 10 years later! Pretty incredible.

Can someone clear up the confusion over 外ギン AVIATION and 待機 for me? I've seen multiple comments saying how the titles are wrong on physical releases because of a misprint, but I can't find any evidence of this misprint online and the Bandcamp release says 外ギン AVIATION should be the other way around. I'm trying to label my personal vinyl rip of this song and it's very difficult.

Cool video! I don't really know how songs like sky nouveau, hidden pathway, and lady count in the tracklist though, just cuz they're on texture maps or vektroid's RUclips channel, could someone give me an explanation?
Because floral shoppe was realeasead like one hundred times and this is the version with all the songs
@@floralroll But the re-releases never contained these tracks. Sky Noveau was on Initiation Tape: Part One and was posted to vektroid's RUclips channel, hidden pathway was also posted to her channel (and on texture maps), and lady was only on texture maps. I guess you could argue that hidden pathway and sky noveau count because they were on Acid Fuxx's fanmade floral shoppe 2 (which actually was officially licensed by Vektroid) and contained these unreleased tracks, but that means tracks like 飛行機AVIATION, WELCOME大きな家HOME, 弱点HEEL, ライブラリLIBRARY, and アメリカCONTINENTAL should be on this release. It's pretty confusing on what tracks should and shouldn't be considered floral shoppe. (Also, Lady sounds like something from ClearSkies idk).
