  • This Zippy Loom really is zippy! It took me about 20 minutes to get a 6 foot long scarf using 1 skein of Red Heart Grande yarn which I would definitely classify as "zippy!"
    Product Links**:
    Zippy Loom: amzn.to/3xSyvyN
    Yarn-- Red Heart Grande is discontinued, but these are similar:
    Red Heart Irresistible: amzn.to/3ITKHWc
    Lion Brand Wool Ease Wow: amzn.to/3ZqFMBP
    Another yarn option is the "ruffle yarn" used to make ruffle scarves or chain scarves like I show here: • Easy Chain Infinity Sc...
    That yarn was Red Heart Boutique Sashay. It's discontinued, but I found some on Amazon: amzn.to/3SwWtZZ

    This exactly the same type of weaving we did as kids on our fingers. Four fingers instead of pegs, weaving yarn around them in exactly the same pattern. Someone decided to create a plastic "palm" to make money as well as capitalize on the whole loom weaving craze.

    THANK YOU! I've been looking at looms for MONTHS and after watching this video TWICE, decided I could do this. Thanks for taking us from BEGINNING TO END, keeping it SIMPLE and staying ON TOPIC. Thumbs up!

    I am so glad I found this tutorial! I am brand new to any kind of yarn art and I could NOT figure out how to use the Zippy Loom. The printed instructions were weird. Other you tube videos went too fast and assumed I knew way more than I did. Your video was perfect for teaching me every thing! I love using the zippy loom. It's quick and easy and calming. My little boy loves it too. We have been obsessively looking at yarn and knitting for days! I still refer to this at the end of every project because I can't quite remember what to do for that. Thank you so much!

    This tutorial is absolutely wonderful! I'm terrible at learning by just looking at paper and trying to puzzle things out, so this has helped me so, so much. I'm having a lot of fun with my zippy and I super appreciate this video being made :) Now I can just relax and loom knit and have fun!

    Thank you for posting this! It has been years since I used a loom like this and wanted to do it with my granddaughter and couldn’t for the life of me remember how to wind it! The instructions on the package are not clear how to do the second wind. Thanks to you I look forward to fun with my little darling!

    This was perfect! I have NEVER used any loom or knitted before and I tried a few videos for this loom (my very first one and first time) with no success. The step by step and view was so very helpful. Especially with actually hearing someone talk thru it. Thank you

    This is the best tutorial on RUclips for the Zippy!! Thank you for making this. Going to check out your channel to see if you have more tutorials for this particular loom (and with the additional ones that can connect to it). I am wondering if it’s ok to tie a square knot and cut it off rather than weaving the last bit into the scarf? Thanks again!!

    Thank you for yet another amazing tutorial!! I watched your video before purchasing this loom for a little girl who is in the hospital and I think it will be perfect! I have bought a #7 yarn but I have a question: do you think pompon yarn would work on this loom?
    Thank you for all the time you put in to these videos! I learned to crochet from you and have never looked back!

    I am glad you did the scarf on this zippy loom i love the fact the peg's are solid love that , I get so mad at round loom's the peg's come out when you least expect them too which is madding ,:( I must buy a bunch of these one day soon:) But for now i will super glue my peg's in the round loom's sadly :( Love your review of this love it so easy super great for bulky yarn's or 5 or 6 strand's of yarn too , :) Have a great week :) Hug's toni g. :)

    Dumb question maybe - when starting a new row I feel like it is possible to do it two ways. You can loop it counter clockwise or clockwise. Has anybody noticed a difference? I feel like the scarf I started knitting has a "weak profile" on the ends. Like if starting on left peg I feel counter clockwise has a stronger loop.

    Can you do a baby blanket on the zippy loom

    • @luvdaizy183
      @luvdaizy183 7 лет назад

      You sure can you would just have to hook together as many zippy looms as you would need to make it as wide as you would like. I saw one person link together enough looms to make an adult size afghan.

  • @karenbcz22
    @karenbcz22 8 лет назад +4

    TMI .. would be easier for beginners if you just stick with the steps - "side, back, around..".
    I've had to rewind and put this on slow numerous times. ALL the continuous "talking" is distracting ... "stock & knit stitich"? - beginners don't care. We're just trying to get the stitich. FOr those of you who get distracted by the "chatting", the steps are: side, back, around, loop, then repeat. Despite that, I'll still give you a thumbs up because at least I just made a scarf! LOL! Thanks.

      Pinky Green there is a way to fast forward. I LOVE that she took the time to tell begginers EVERYTHING. Some people need good parenting all over again. when you have a problem (with everything I'm guessing ) ask yourself 1. is it necessary? 2. is it hurting you or a loved one personally? 3. Am I having a bad day? Then take a deep breath and MOVE ON!

      Yes--it's stockinette. Mastering the vocabulary of a new discipline is challenging, but necessary. "The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name." --Confucius.
