- In this video, I show you how to make a simple scarf on a round loom. If you have a rectangular loom instead of the round one, check out my tutorial for that here: • Easy Loom Knitted Scarf
Products Used**:
- Loom -- I bought my round looms in a 4 pack set. They are the Knifty Knitter brand, but that brand is not readily available anymore. This set is super similar and also comes with pom-pom makers! amzn.to/3IRFmyO
- Yarn -- I recommend doing these with either bulky weight yarn or two strands of worsted weight. I used Red Heart Super Saver held double: amzn.to/3IxuPaB
- Honorable Mention shown - Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn (if you want to use one strand): amzn.to/3Y0Vd2m

Carolina Carvalho I'm so happy to hear your daughter has taken off on loom knitting. It sounds like something she is really into it!
That's so cool!
I'm interested but how to order the loom, those materials
Thanks for sharing this video....you are the first person on youtube I have seen that shows if you make a mistake or it comes off the loom accidentally that you can fix it....instead of giving up. thanks for that.
I'm pregnant and have been on bed rest since the end of October so I decided to learn loom knitting. Your videos and teaching style is so easy to follow. Thank you and I continue to look forward to future videos.
Sha Johnson I'm sorry that you had to go on bed rest, but I am glad that you found something to pass the time! Thank you so much for watching!

I bought yarn approximately priced for a beginner’s first attempt and THANK YOU for the idea of stacking the less dense yarn! Thank you thank you thank you!
So helpful! I'm a beginner and I have only used knitting needles and so far I have made a couple scarves now. I love how you show how to fix a mistake! I know how to correct them now:) Thank you for taking your time and thoroughly showing each step. I'm going to make a hat for my boyfriend on Valentines Day and I have you to thank for that:) I can't wait to get started!

Thank you! I started making an infinity scarf and realized I didn't know how to do the binding at the end. Your tutorial saved my project! Thanks so much :)
cass williams I'm glad I could help!
😱😱😱 this was SOOO easy!!!! Im a beginer and this video was soooooooo helpful. Thanks
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I am a beginner at this and you made this very easy for me with the instructions you gave. Look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you.
ann taylor I'm glad I could make it easier for you! :)
You could also use extra yarn to close each end. I love this idea cuz it eliminates the tiring purl stitches that are usually used to prevent curling. This is also a great “double knit” hack!
Really helpful. You seem to have figured the easiest ways to use the loom. Casting off was much simpler than other videos and techniques. Thank you!
I just love your tutorials. Your very precise and you make it easy to follow
Gonna make my girlfriend a scarf thanks to this video! Thank you so much!

Good on you. Hope she likes it.
I just started loom knitting and the hat video was so simply explained! I’ve made the scarf but am wondering how to close the ends? Can you do a tutorial on that please?!
thanks lovely. used this to do my first scarf on my room loom. super easy and i found your explanation of the bind off super easy to follow. very pleased with my first attempt
Thank you so much for your talent , I purchased a looming kit, I couldn't understand the instruction sheet that came with the kit . I decided to go on youtube and their I found your instructions , great work , I'm on a roll now.
Thanks,
Vanessa
Vanessa Johnson Once you start, it's hard to stop...well, until the scarf is finished and then you're going to want to start another one! :)
CraftingWithClaudie Thanks great video.
I don't know which video got me started with my scarf, but I used this one to help me finish it. I think the video that got me started was actually for a beanie hat which turned out to be my first little project and I gave it to a friend who just had a newborn granddaughter. Then I already knew how to get the scarf started but I just didn't know how to finish it off without Gathering it at the end. I finally have my scarf finished, and I'm looking forward to walking out the door with it in the morning! I want to use the largest of the four round Looms to make a little blanket for a dog I'm hoping to take in, in the near future. 😊
THANK YOU for being clear and teaching slowly enough that I could follow along! This is the best tutorial video I’ve found so far! You’re a lifesaver!
This was very helpful for the simple loomers like myself. Thank you for this scarf tutorial. Claudie.
This is a wonderful video. I have a round loom and the only thing I can make are hats. This is very interesting to do a scarf on a round loom. Thank you so much for this video.

I wondered if you have ever made any round loom knit fingerless easy gloves ? If not would you make video of them thanksyou are so great and clear on instructions : )
@@MYSTICFROG43 I think there’s a vid on them…
Thank you for sharing you’re so patient I love the way you bind it you make it look so easy . I just purchased a round loom I just can’t wait to get it. . I love it . Once again thank you ..
My 6 year old daughter watch your video with me and she can loom knit . Thanks
Love this easy and beautiful pattern. Do you think it would work out to sew the ends together, and, maybe sew a couple or three places along the scarf, so it'd be a flat scarf when you pick it up? Also, this would make a nice hand - warmer pattern. Just make it a bit shorter and wear it on both your hands. Looks so cozy and comfy to me. Can't wait to knit one. Thank you for sharing your pattern.
Thank you so much your videos are great i am a beginner and thank you for showing what to do when i make a mistake.. your a great teacher..
Wow it is so hard to stop, thank you for this video it really helped me.

This tutorial was super helpful for me as a beginner! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much I am 10 years old and I do crochet and I just learned how to end it because of your video
I like the scarf colors
I can't wait to make a scarf with my new round knitting loom! Thanks for the video!
I kept having a peg where my cast off was missed so THANK YOU again for showing me how to save it !😅
Thank you for your demonstration it really helped me to understand how it works 😊
This is a really good video! I just have one question, at the end you left the scarf with two holes and you didn't close them. Obviously i want to close them otherwise it will look like a really long sock and not a scarf haha but how do i do that? Do i just stitch them up the usual way with a yarn needle or is it possible to stitch the holes closed on the loom itself?
I love this and thank you ..But how do you add fringes on the ends of it ?
+goldmouth100 That's not the easiest thing to explain with words, but I'll try! :) Cut strands of yarn at least twice the length you want the fringe to be. Insert a crochet hook from one side of the fabric to the other (or through both strands if you have them pressed together), grab the middle of some of the strands depending on how thick you want your fringe to be, pull the strands back through the fabric with the crochet hook. Then you want to take the ends of the strands and pull them up through the loop you just created and pull tight. That should make a knot of sorts. You could also pull through just one end of the fringe and then tie the ends together with a box knot, but I usually use the crochet hook. Once you have all of them done, you might need to trim the fringe to make it even. I hope that helps!!! I should probably do a video on it. :)
Yes I understood you completely. .Thanks so much for explaining that...I am going to make a scarf for my next project..
what do you do with the extra string after u finish with the last looming??? i am tryiing and trying but i can not make one cuz i do not know what to do with the xtra string
Just did my first scarf... looks amazing. Thank you for taking time to make this video.. Ive made the hat too. :)
Wish you had shown how to do tassels. This is all so new to me. Becoming a RUclips Junkie watching videos on loom knitting
Great instruction on the cast off.
I'm enjoying loom knitting very much
Great tutorial!, I love how you finish it off.
Trying a rectangular one first then this one. Will probably close in the ends though.
I really enjoyed with the scarf you did I appreciate it pretty scarf you made
Luv watching you work. Would like to see a tutorial on the boot toppers, don't know what they are called. Will be watching you doing the ends , when I finish my shawl!Happy Looming.☺☺
Thank you so much for your reply. You just gave me the options that I needed.
Love this pattern! Do you see the other end together too?
Love it! Your video is easy to understand.
Mil gracias abrazos de Guatemala centro del mundo . Centro america
so every two rounds we knit ? love the color combination !
Thank you. This was really easy to follow.
Gracias por su labor de trabajo Estamo A prendiendo
Thank you for an excellent video. I learned alot
if you knit the last peg wrapped, it will lock the stitch and no need to hold onto the yarn.
Omg this works!! Thank you so much!!!

Hi Claudie! Will you show us how to do socks on the sock loom?
Sara Dally I'll add it to my list and see what I can do! :)
Thanks for replaying! Favorite youtuber! ; )
thank you. you have the best "how to" videos. 😊
I love this I looked at your other viseos there awesome
oli Krasz - it videos
If you do this on a 41 bands round knitting loom than you can make a infinity scarf. And that also looks great.
Marise van der Meer I've made a cowl on the largest one that I have and it worked well. You can even make an infinity scarf out of the one in this video if you just sew the ends together. Lots of possibilities! :)
Excellent teaching
Thank you I love knitting simple way
Can I not just use one skein of yarn for the length of an adult scarf? My yarn is the thicker bulky one.
Yes. If ur yarn is very thick you don't need to double double stranded the only time if you want to. Thick scarf in the yarn is very thin. Then you can add another strand of yarn, but I found out if I use heavier bulk yarn I don't need to double up on it. The very thin yarn. Yes you got to double it if you want the thickness
Thanks for making this video:) I'm working on my first scarf now! I'm just wondering how long did this take you?
dancerLivy101 The scarves on the round looms take me a little longer than the ones on the rectangular looms for some reason, but it's still fairly quick. It took me around 3 hours or so while watching TV.
Hi,now Iknow how to make scarf .Thank you so much
How do you manage to use both strings without it getting twisted when you wrap it around the pegs?? I'm struggling but I don't want to use one strand.
They do tend to get twisted unfortunately! Normally, I will untwist it by moving the skeins themselves. However, I have been known to just bring the twisted part to top and wrap it onto the peg, though I would only recommend doing that if you had just a couple of twists, maybe 3 because it can get a little wonky otherwise. Hope that helps!

My name is Rhonda Roeper and I am watching your video oh by the way I’m sorry hi Claudia I was just wondering if maybe you can go into more detail description on how to make the scarves on around loom because I am blind and I can’t go very fast I need to go step-by-step so if you could just describe it more detail I could I would really appreciate it thanks again for your video
This may be a dumb question but it is possible to do patterns on a loom - I just bought a round loom set as you show?
Do you do all of the pegs to make a scarf on the round loom?
This has helped me so much thank you
thank you so much you are helping me so much
Thank you, you helped me a lot with your video :)
I have a question, if i have only one strand of yarn could i e-stitch around twice to have it look lik i used 2 strands?
What kind of yarn do you use for that? How many yards also? I'm just starting .
Please make a video of how can we add another wool when the first wool finish during the process.
zoz I will add it to my list! :)
Does the Nifty Knitter kit have a 45 peg loom?
Hi! What brand yarn did you use? I can't seem to catch the name!
buttacupp2000 That yarn was just Red Heart Super Saver. :) Any worsted weight yarn should work out about the same though.
How would I close the scarf at the end after the bind off? Is it better to use tassels instead?
I have some question. What are you do at being side to the same end side?
how would you close the ends of the scraf instead of leaving it open. thank you
Love this video thank you for this video .
How come when I did the same wrap on a long loom it curled and one side looked different from the other?
Thank you ,I've been waiting for this!
Lilian Marie Hernandez No problem! I'm happy I could help!
How can you make this scarf into an infinity scarf? Do you have a video?
Kim Melikian I don't have a video showing how to yet, but I do have it on my to-do list. Basically, you'd just need to sew together. There is more than one way to do that, but that's the general idea.
How did I end up with both ends tethered to the loom so I was knitting in a loop. Had two ends to finish. It were faster. But I've no idea how.
What size loom do I use to make a 6 inch scarf?
Ok so I've looked through the comments and can't seem to find the issue I'm having. For some reason my pull over stitch is getting to big I guess. It's reached the other side of the loom in length. This happened on a previous scarf as well. I pulled that one off and started this one. It seems to happen at the length im at each time which is approx 3 feet. Any suggestion on how to fix that?
Is there a way to just be flat and not hollow in the middle how is that done?!
Can u use a bulky and a thin on the same scarf?
hi when you r video taping the tutorial , is there a certain type of camera that you use so you could be so close to the loom or do you have a regular camera and just set it on top of something? im just starting out!:)
The TQ12 In order to do close up shots without them getting blurry, you'll need one that has a macro setting. I set mine to auto focus when I'm filming so it will focus on what's on the table most of the time, but if I need to bring it closer to the camera to show detail, it will change focus (sometimes that takes a few seconds). I also use a tripod so that way my hands are free. Good luck!
What if you run out of yarn before you get the length you want can you add more on if so how?
hi thats a neat scarf
could you do this on a smaller loom
Yep, you sure can!
How long do you usually make the scarf
Is it ok if I put fringes on the scarf? Or can you make a video on how to put fringes on a round loom knitted scarf?
Steven ILikeMarines Sure, that's okay! Fringe is great on these since it keeps the ends from curling. Making a video showing how to add them is a great idea. I'll add it to my list. Thanks!
Hi i was wondering how much yarn u need to make this
I am a beginner. When I was looping the loops over the other loop my yarn busted what should i do
What colors are you using? Love the look!
Rose Stolarz I just used white and grey. I think those where the colorway names too. :)
Thank you!
When done how wide is the scarf???
this scarf is so amazing me and my friend made it is so simple and easy i will make for my uncle also by suha
how many rows would you make for a 6ft scarf? how do you know when you have reached 6 ft.?
Shatrice H Honestly, I don't count the number of rows for this type of scarf. I just measure it with measuring tape to see how long it is. If you like your scarves to be a different length, you can sort of wrap it around your neck with the loom on (just be careful not to pull the loops off) and see if it's at a length you feel comfortable with.
How do you close the ends?
I don't get this video. If you could just maybe sort it out more clearly, that would be great.
