  • Wendy’s will soon test a plan to fluctuate menu prices based on the time of day and location similar to the surge pricing that ride-sharing companies like Uber use.

    • @Quietu
      @Quietu 7 месяцев назад

That is their job. But this CEO is an idiot. All it is going to take is the next highest competitor with a similar product (chicken focused with burgers) to do a strong national marketing campaign to say “we will never trick you with our pricing. We pledge that it will always be the lowest we can afford to offer our guests.” And they are going to knock Wendy’s from that #2 seat, even if they don’t take it themselves.
Wendy’s is leaving themselves wide open for a mass exodus of brand loyalty.

As Someone who worked for Wendys from May 2006 to February 2009, I can name 5 Reasons:
      1. Parent Company ConAgra. They've been the WRONG Parent Company for Wendys since July 2010. Ever since they took over, Wendys has lost 30% in overall Revenue.
      2. Underpay. ConAgra/Quality is Our Recipe is an Understatement. ConAgra doesn't care about Quality, NOR do they care about fair Pay. When Proctor and Gamble/Oldemark,LLC ran Wendys, they always made sure Franchisees treated and paid employees. I made $6.55 HR in 2006 when the National Wage was Stagnated at $5.15. Its Criminal how much Wendys Employees make now.
      3. Food Quantity over Quality. When I worked at Wendys in 2006-2009, Quality,Freshness and MORALE were the core elements of what made working for them so Great. It was Always important that even if we ran out of supplies at our then HUGE Revenue driving West Houston Restuarant Store, to ALWAYS made everything taste Fresh and Great.
      4. Price Gouging. They Pulled this Nonsense in 2009 as well. The Chair was convinced that hiking prices because of the Recession was the way to go. Thomas herself was ok with this, but Argued that .50 hike was FAR much more feasible than a $2 hike. Wendy kept arguing that Raising Prices by $2 was a disastrous idea, she insisted going easy on the price hike because Whataburger and In N Out Founders were able to do it with No problem, but the Chairboard told her THEY know what's best and Quote "You're Father's Old Recipe is getting Passe and its time to overhaul it" at the time Wendys spiked the prices up on its Old Menu in '09, it was out of Greed. This time, its out of Desperation.
      5. Their Menu Sucks. Let's Face it, Since 2010, Wendys Menu is a complete Shadow of its former self. Dave Thomas was at Wendys from the beginning in 1969 until the end of his life in January 2002. And The Reason why The Thomas Family Stayed put throughout the entire '00s is because P&G realized one simple thing "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it". Wendy, her Sisters, Brother-in-Laws(Wendy's Husband Carl died tragically at 39 in 1999) and even Dave's 17 year old Grandson Orville ALL had an Emotional and Tearful Investors QA with Oldemark and P&G in February of 2002. Wendy emotionally put out the argument while it was important to leave Dave Thomas' Menu as is and that Everything has worked all the way to now with her Father and his Menu, it was the right thing getting rid of the Salad Bar(Because it was pretty much the ONLY thing not turning a profit). P&G and Oldemark agreed and vowed "NEVER to Change it". But in July of 2010, 8 years later, Wendys Chairboard told Wendy Thomas "We Call ourselfs Old Fashioned and its time to Stop being Old Fashioned. The Old Menu is history. If you can't agree to that, then Get out.".
In 2024, Wendys isn't just a Former Shell of itself, its COMPLETELY out of Touch.

Last time i eat at Wendy’s. It’s already overpriced garbage, and now they want even more?! And the drive thru wait times and customer service haven’t improved with these ridiculous prices…

SO WHAT THEY'RE TRYING TO DO IS LIKE VEGAS...
POPULAR EVENT IN TOWN ALL HOTELS RAISE THEIR PRICES... AVERAGE TIME OF THE MONTH REGULAR PRICING
WHEN THERE'S INCREASED DEMAND THEY RAISE THEIR PRICES
    SO LUNCHTIME EVERYTHING COSTS MORE
    OPPORTUNISM
YOU WON'T KNOW THE PRICES UNTIL YOU GET THERE, YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE TO EAT LUNCH FOR EXAMPLE
JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY NOT TO EAT AT WENDY'S

I mean sit down restaurants do this and call it happy hour or dinner menu, but at least they are obvious about it and most customers know if they go at dinner menu time, its more money. If Wendy's just randomly changes the prices and there's no knowing what location has higher prices or not, I'll go to McD's, Burger King, Jack-in-the-box, Sonic, etc.

Lol what a joke prices should decrease at busy times. This will not be an issue at our Wendys since it is the worst fast food restaurant in our town. Boycott Wendys hey corporate emailed you and called a few times got no responds. Tell your staff to stop vaping in the kitchen. Total joke go ahead increase your prices put yourself out of business. Competitors keep your eyes open on " How to ruin your business in a few easy steps"

They are out of their minds . They are going to go bank rupt . You want to stay in business and keep the customers you have you better vote for trump or you can eat it yourself .and we want you to bring prices back to prior Biden prices.
