    I'm still learning how to use my first drone. The cinematic possibilities are endless. I'm still trying to make sense of it all to incorporate this very important new development into my high school curriculum. I've watched and subscribed to a few drone channels but I really like your approach and insight. Kudos!

    Stew-aht...lovely man! I'm a self taught underwater videographer, but I use my Mavic Pro for establishing shots in my videos and I just wanted to see what I could pick-up from you to make my work a tad more dynamic...I've been toying with the cinematic 'letterbox' idea...it didn't dawn on me that it'd add framing flexibility...you've just convinced me. Thank you

    Brilliant. You have a knack of crystallizing a thought or a concept that I was thinking about or wrestling with already.I find your content is ideally timed, and straightforwardly delivered.
    I think more editing tips would be helpful. Something about how to edit down 10 minutes of drone footage to a few 5- to 10-second clips held together by some background music.

    Yo, your biggest fan in Africa here... Well done! If you see it fit I, would like to know more about considerations into fps and how to slo-mo and/or ramp up speed. I have seen some sporadic mentions of shooting in slow movement of the drone in combination with more and/or less frame rates, but I would really like to hear your take on this from a practical perspective. Thanks in advance...

    • @DroneFilmGuide
      @DroneFilmGuide  7 лет назад +1

      Sure thing! I can tell you now though that the shots I think you are referring to are simply speeded up 25fps footage with no ramping or change in frame rate so there's nothing clever going on there!

    Quick question. I do like the look of the letterbox effect. But when I am watching stuff on my widescreen TV it's sometimes annoys me that I'm not seeing the whole of the screen. How much do you think this would impact people's appreciation of your drone footage??

  • @jupjupz

    Im not a fan of dropping letterbox overlay... why not just create a custom 2.35:1 sequence then put your 4k footage on that... and zoom or move the footage vertically so it doesnt show blades or crop your footage so it hides something you dont wanna show.. i find cinematic shots in 2.35:1 come out nicer without having black bars which you have to encode into the footage.. plus if you watch on wider screen than 16:9 you wont get black bars on the left on right as it boxes in.. just my 2 cents..
