lol just replaced mine. there was only 1 battery inside but it was working fine for over a year now (i bought it like that).
suddenly it started to not work. i opened the key and was surprised by only seeing one battery
thx for video
Thanks so much. I've got a great 2002 C-class, but things change. Batteries run down. Yours were the only RUclips instructions I found aimed at opening older (98-02) key fobs. Bless you -- and RUclips -- for helping an 82-year-old man get back on the road.
Glad it helped! Take care

Question: does these batteries only help for getting into car? Do the batteries actually help start the car itself? Because I can get into car with keyless entry by hitting unlock but when I put key into ignition it doesn't turn. This is my old key as backup. My new key works fine.
what must i do if after changing the batteries and it does not crank
@@ruleanhogue311 does the key turn at all?
It only unlock the door and lock the door you don't need battery to start
Literally worked immediately. Thank you💯🦾
Glad it helped

Hello, we changed batteries - and now we cannot lock / unlock our car using remote. Do you know how to sync remote back with the car after battery change ? Thx !
You likely replaced it with a bad battery. I'd try a different package of battery and see if that helps
Hey thanks, can I use CR2032 ?
Probably not. The 2032 is 3.2mm thick and the 2025 are 2.5mm thick. Maybe in a pinch but go ahead and order up two 2025 batteries - amzn.to/38o5BKu
@@KeyFobRob ok thanks for your reply didn't expect it on an old video lol!
eh, I have a couple hundred fob videos and people ask questions on them everyday so I try my best to answer ones I can
I dropped my key in water and key won’t turn. Would this method work???
You're probably going to need to open it up and dry everything out. Try putting it in rice if you haven't already
Thanks
