Great video, how can anyone dislike this super clear video. Just a tip if others have this issue my contacts weren't great even after a new battery I had issues, using some WD40/CRC I cleaned the inner and outer contacts and inside the fob where the + & - terminals make contact, now it's like new.
@@alexludlam2313 It's dead simple, you look at the existing batteries and get two replacement ones. If you are really smart you can check the description of the video, which states CR2025 batteries ;-)
You have saved my day with this. Dropped keys in a puddle -soaked. Had to walk home thinking the worse, key key fob etc. Found your vid, took key fob apart now slowly drying out. Will give it some new batteries as well. I just hope my attempt at getting the fob to work by pressing the buttons whilst it was wet hasn't damaged the circuit board. Many thanks again 👋👍

Thank you for this very informative and clear photography of this MB key fob I'd opened mine years ago and forgotten about the push 'bit' inside to release the battery holder CR 2025 in mine for those coming after me: 20 (20mm) is the diameter 25 (2.5mm) is the thickness the numbers are important, thinner batteries don't make a connection and thicker batteries won't go in the holder.
Great instructions. Was able to follow through with no issues. The only problems: 1) I don't have an LED telling me if the batteries are fine or not; 2) after the battery change, my key fob still is not working. Time to call Mercedes again...
And all this time I was thinking I'd have to find a replacement for my key fob. Thanks so much for this!! Going to pick up two CR2025s right now!! Keep up the great work!!

The reason I changed the batteries was because I couldn't get my car to unlock unless I pointed the front of the remote directly at the IR receiver on the door handle at a distance of not more than an inch or two. Naveed Khan Were the new batteries good quality ones? Sometimes if you buy cheap ones they are not so good. I'd try a new pair of batteries and if it's still not working you might need to take it to a Mercedes specialist to find out if it's the key fob or the receiver that is faulty.
Thanks very much for this. I have been leaving the doors unlocked for six years. Even at concerts and busy downtown areas. No one has even tried to open the door once in all that time. I know because the passenger door unlocks when the driver door is opened. Now I can use the fob again. yay!

Good work. The manufacturers try and make it more complex than it needs to be. The emergency key is simple enough. But to remove the battery there is a small catch inside!! WTF. I'd never have thought. And there I was going to use a thin blade to try and seperate the key fob!!. Thank you for the video.

My year 2005 W220 S 500 has the same shape key but it only has one CR 2032 battery. Thanks for the video!
