Very good lesson on how to use freezer paper in quilting. I bought some paper months ago but wasn't sure how to use is. You've explained it so well. Thank you
thanks for the tutorial... stumbled across this while looking for how to use freezer paper to make a stencil to personalise a doormat. btw... for fellow kiwis...Spotlight sells freezer paper by the metre , approx $3 per metre
Can you leave the freezer paper attached to the fabric? I like the idea of the freezer paper helping you get crisp edges when you iron the seam allowances, but it seems like it would be difficult to take the paper out at that point without ruining the crispness. But it also seems like you'd want to take the freezer paper out rather than leave it in because of what would happen to the paper when the quilt goes through the wash.

I have left the freezer paper on the fabric. My mother has made large appliqued quilts leaving the freezer paper in.
Fabulous tutorial.
I use freezer paper to do FPP....
