    The key to a bone straight silk press is the blow drying process. I have that blow dryer and I’ve learned they don’t give what our hair needs to be straight. It’ll leave it puffy. Regular blow dryer, chasing with a denman brush does the trick!

    • @tiahnarodriguez3809
      @tiahnarodriguez3809 Год назад +3

      I agree. I use a ion blow dryer and ceramic round brush. Both get my hair fairly straight when I blow dry, and my ceramic flat iron gets it smoother. Another benefit is you don’t have to use high heat on your iron because the blow dryer and brush did most of the work.

    • @weirdmyst7963
      @weirdmyst7963 Год назад

      I got a straightener but it's a brush. It doesn't straighten the hair but it's great for a blowdry looks. I'll just take through the hair with that and then go flatiron it.

    Girl your hair still looks gorgeous! It definitely was the fact that you blow dry and pressed it quite far in between. I would say no more than a day. Typically it’s best to do it the same day or the next day and then when you wrap it sit underneath a hairdryer if you have it. You’re definitely gonna get it. Try it again girl. You have absolute gorgeous hair!

    Just a little helpful tip(s). It is so much easier to section when doing your hair or anyone else’s for that matter. Like 4 at least. Also if you are worried about too many passes with the flat iron you can get an actual round brush and a regular blow dryer. Not like the one you have. It will cut down your flat iron time and the amount of passes you do. The round brush will allow you to get closer to your scalp and also straighten the ends as well. Also going in a slant will help too. Just a Paul Mitchell graduate tip. I would have loved to have you in my chair ❤️

    If you want to keep the curls, it would be best to use sponge rollers at night instead of wrapping your hair. Wrapping and sleeping on it all night flattens your curls. With the length you have, your hair will fall beautifully with the juiciest curls. 😊

    I have super coily hair. And the best way to get silky hair is
    (1) straightening it on CLEAN hair (freshly washed) because butters, oils, sebum, etc weighs it down
    (2) get the blow dry as straight and flowy as possible.
    (3) give yourself a silk wrap after straightening &curling it; shower cap or Saran Wrap your hair, sit under dryer for 10-20 mins
    I also love the CHI silk infusion.

    Girl my first time turned out like this too but even worse. Mine was stiff. I learned a lot though which is great because each time you do it, you get better and learn from your mistakes. I learned to not take too long to straighten the hair between washing and blow drying. Also trimming makes a difference. That should happen in the same day. The deep conditioner must also be good as it makes a hugeee difference. When blow-drying make sure to not use too much heat protectant and too much leave in because it will weigh the hair down. The most important factor is blowdrying the hair as straight as possible. Then as soon as your done, start straightening the hair! No breaks between all these steps! That worked for me the 2nd time I straightened my hair and learned from my mistakes. Then my hair was flowing and falling with gravity. Either way girl you look gorgeous and I love your natural hair and how it’s all one length 😍

I know what your saying about it being to fluffy, what I learned that works best for my hair was using a brush in the chase method. My hair does the exact same thing. I also have course and thick hair. I have cut so much of my ends off thinking that was the problem. But I think it may be because we don't use a lot of heat on our hair and it's not heat trained, and until it is, we can't achieve that bone straight look. But that's ok, put in some curls and still enjoy hair that is flowy and full of body. Your hair looks lovely 😊

    • @debra1077
      @debra1077 Год назад +10

      Yes,ma'am...what you said about the hair not being heat train is so right.
      Just like switching products some people don't give their hair time to absorb the products before they switch to another.
      Think in terms of medications...you have to take them for a certain amount of time before they are compatible with your system. Same with hair and body. I'm glad you made that point. 👏

    • @RiRi-eq8dr
      @RiRi-eq8dr Год назад +7

      @@LifewithBreanna_ yes unfortunately heat training is a mild form of heat damage 😭 that's why it's so hard to strike that balance. Some people can and it works for them, but it does mean your hair structure is compromised, which is why it so easily falls out of its natural texture and into being straight.

    • @Brandiisbeloved
      @Brandiisbeloved Год назад +7

      No heat training is heat damaging. Our hair Won’t ever be bone straight because we have a lot of density and it’s coarse. Nothing wrong it. It’s beautiful

  • @Xriis339
    @Xriis339 Год назад +2

    It looks good. But I definitely would say try to get a straighter blow dry. Use the heat protectant but add a serum like super skinny or a blowout butter on top so your blowout will last. You could also lead with a comb as you’re flat ironing.

    Sis it was the blow dry. That blow dryer does not provide enough tension at the roots or ends to get the hair straight. I think paddle brush and concentrator attachment on the blow dryer gives the smoothest silk press results! I love a good blown out look too though, it looks cute!

    It still looks cute! I think if you straighten it right after you blow dry on wash day you'll get better results. I've found that a boar bristle brush gives straighter results than a comb so maybe you can try that next time? My hair is currently silk pressed right now (just a week old) but it looks like I got a relaxer, that's how straight it got with a brush. At the end of the day, it's really just a matter of finding a technique that works for you. Anyway, great video!

      @@wanazoe heat protectant is false security. A lot of people don't know but once you do one pass, you've burned the heat protectant off. She will be fine though, course hair is usually very resistant to heat damage if you'd not silk it out often.

      @@Mskyraelise heat Protectants actually work for me 🤔 so I wouldn’t call them false security
      However I do think that it depends on your heat protectant ,hair type and the technique that you use when straightening your hair, which is why most people only do one pass
      But for me 2 or 3 passes are okay to heat damage but I still try to stick to one pass
