Forgot to add that I think it would be fun to see that early morning shave video. All you would need to do is list the items you are using. Looking forward to seeing it. 😀
Today i tried an aggressive Razor/Blade combo, that i've never tried before... My shave of the day was: Muhle R41 GS, Feather (2nd use) DE Blade, KenSurfs shaving brush, PAA Preshave Cube, Dovo Berlin Barber shave soap, 2 passes, few pick-ups, Using the Alum block after, only gave a few tingles around my Adams apple, Thayers Unscented witch hazel, Reuzel Aftershave, Nivea Sensitive Aftershave Balm. Knowing the aggressiveness of the Combo, i went extra light on the touch, and all went very well 🙂
I've used the R41 plenty of times before with milder blades, and i've also used the Feathers plenty of times before in milder razors, so i know both of them very well. I think it's because i've gotten the balance of the R41, and the extra light touch in my hand, that it went well. @@Heiko-shaves
Nice shave Heiko. I have the Cremo shave cream and use it as a pre electric shave if I don't have enough time for a complete wet shave. Also, Cremo is not meant to lather up like other soaps or creams. I have Sterlings Orange Chill and like you I love mentholated shave soap and after shaves. Interesting razor. Have a great weekend. 👍
Congrats on 100th video. Orange Chill sounds like an interesting combination. I agree with you, Stirling is really great quality for a great price, and bonus, it is nice to support a local mom and pop shop right here in the good old USA. I hope Artur is well and we get to hear from him soon.
Excellent razor for the price. I picked up one last summer. You can get the colored tips from PAA, I got one in Gillette red and it gave the razor a 50's Gillette red tip look. The handle also works well with other razors. The Stirling stuff always feels great on the skin. Great shave Heiko!
So you continued with that discussion of mild razor and something about blades. I tried a Feather blade for first time, about three years ago. Upon a first pass I felt not any blade feel; but all the hair with the strokes were being very closely cut.
Mild and efficient is the name of the game. I think mild razors are the perfect use case for Feather blades. Those really sharp blades make a mild razor very effective.
Great video Heiko. Glad to see a decent review of this razor. I got this but with the timeless plaid clone handle almost 2 weeks ago. After using it I'm now waiting on 2 more to arrive hopefully by next week. So I'll have one for travel, one for home, and one spare. This thing is just as smooth as my razorock mamba .70 but just a hair more aggressive and a tad more efficient which i expected with it having the .86 gap. The razorock mamba 70 is 70 dollars and this yintal is 25-35 depending on whatever the price is that day and for the combination handle model you choose. My awaiting order is for the exact same one you have and another with the plaid handle. I have to order a couple more to give away as presents.
100th video, WOW Times flies when having fun because from my side it looks like 50 max .... tjeeeez amazing achievement, well done ! Because you like the Wikinson blades so much, my suggestion is to try the Gillette/Wilkinson Saloon Pack blade ( Kensurfs uses them often and is in my top 3 bladelist ) I hope you get them / try them because I am anxious to know if you like them as much / better then the regular black Wilkinson blades.
When you talked about the first pass and the rough feeling - I have a different impression about that. A sharper blade can eliminate that rough feeling. I am sure of this, at least based on my experience. That rough feeling almost for certain means that you could have used instead a sharper blade and achieve better and more comfortable results for the first-pass.
I don't know razor designs. But the design looks lime it is mimicking a vintage red tail. As the 4th piece seems to replicate a turning butterfly or adjusting knob. Even even though it doesn't function as one. Like fake turbo intakes on a car. For looks only.
I guess it indicates the look of the Gillette super speed but that is really where the similarities end. The handle is much thicker and the head is completely different.

I think it's because i've gotten the balance of the R41, and the extra light touch in my hand, that it went well. @@Heiko-shaves

Stirlings Oro Valley is my favorite so far.
Nice shave 👌
Oro Valley, what is that like? Musky , fruity, powdery?
Congratulations on 100, very informative and enjoyable videos.
Thank you very much!

So, PAA is compatible. I was wondering about that. I might mod my Yintal. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to seeing you try a Feather in a shave soon...
I will. Promise. This razor would have been a perfect match. Mild razor with a sharp blade is the ticket.
I would love to see the silent video!
Coming up soon.

I hope so too.
Do the exposition of the blade is negative, given the numerous pass?
Or is it neutral?
It has a negative blade exposure. Cheers

I am sure of this, at least based on my experience. That rough feeling almost for certain means that you could have used instead a sharper blade and achieve better and more comfortable results for the first-pass.
I agree. The rough feeling is usually a sign of dull blade or not sharp enough.

Hi is it more aggressive than Yaqi zephyr capsul?
I think it is roughly at the same level of aggression but I do like the Yintal 316L stainless razor much more than the zephyr. Cheers, Heiko

The Yintal is a different design, not similar to the R89. The R89 and the EJ are pretty cheap in quality but still good razors.
