All got sorted in the end. Got home at 3pm next day but all was good. Was more upset for my wife than me. I'm not really bothered, I can sleep another day out but because my wife had plans around my work it made me upset. It's all good now 😁
What a nightmare Floz 😢 bet the Mrs weren't happy!! Happened to me few times especially on a Friday when everything going well and then boom, traffic or issues with customer like what happened here, Nice 1 Floz chin up let's hope it's a good week 😜💪💯
Thanks Mark 😀 To be honest she was upset but I was more upset than her. She sorted the things at home as I got back next day at 3pm. She was alright but I was still upset 😂 It's very common for plans to be ruined when you drive trucks, isn't it?
Hi floz,felt your pain In this one,I know people are gonna say that your a lorry driver so you can't always be where you need to be but when it comes to family you have to do what you have to do and hope you managed to get loaded the next morning and got to your missus in time to be there for her,when they had problems with the forklift was there no other business next door that could have helped with a forklift🤷♂️hope your enjoying your last day at home and have had some quality time with your daughters and wife🙂👍
Thanks Mark 😀 I did ask them to get a forklift from next door but apparently he was only insured on that one that was faulty 🤷♂️ I got loaded next day by the next shift after 6am... got home at around 3pm. Wife was not impressed but got over it 😁 she made me a list of jobs that needed doing. Kept me busy all week 😂😂
Alright drive! Soz floz but I'm guilty of that name calling and skin, that's wiv being a fork lift driver, so I apologise!! And that's why we ALL should really appreciate lorry drivers, because most people won't do the job because of the day you had there, where your family has to be let down again cuz of the job, but if it wasn't for you guys/girls we wudnt get our stuff we need. So my ❤ goes out to you drivers for the sacrifices you put up with. Hope you can make things up with the holidays you got coming. All best floz/family, take care.
😂😂😂 Thanks Matt 😀 Don't need to apologise mate. It's just that I can't stand when I'm being called "Drive" 😂😂 Appreciate the nice words mate. Our jobs are much easier with people like you. Especially when the forklift is working 😂😂Holidays are over now. Tomorrow, I will be back to work
Including constant stress, not getting home for important family occasions, despite it being promised by former boss (Useless!) and finally being weekended in Germany twice in a row (unpaid!) due to poor planning is what prompted me to hand in my keys around 1994 and never go back to trucking. Never regretted it :)

Bloody hell Floz. Don’t want to many days like that. Had to be a delivery where there was only one fork lift. As an ex lorry driver I felt for you. Thanks Glen 😀 I kind of predicted it from the beginning. I knew deep inside that I'm not going to be home in time. Not bothered about me, I can sleep out, but my wife had some things to do, which obviously didn't happen. All good now, holidays over. Tomorrow back to work 😁

A frustrating day for you Floz, especially as it affected your next day wanting to be with your Wife.(Hope all went well ❤). What I tried to do when fed up, was remember the time with no work and that was worse. As Robert Burns said " The best laid plans of Mice and Men Gang aft agley, An leave us nought but grief and pain, for promised joy! Ilustrates how you cannot plan anything when you drive trucks for a living. We all know that feeling and that dreaded call to the wife. That behaviour of pulling out then sitting next to you at 56mph is getting very common, sh*thouse behaviour.
I know mate it was like never-ending. I felt sorry for the cars behind me. I couldn't reduce speed to let him pass since I was already well ahead of him and that would have caused even more problems. Couldn't go back on first lane either. I was stuck in a very, very slow overtake. Just poor driving standard from him 🤷♂️

The way to have a wonderful family life, essential for any work life/career, is to be home every day even after a 15hr day! No boss, DVSA, VOSA, nor any organisation whatsoever gives a fuck about any driver's sacrifices to get any job done. A child not knowing their trucker parent, is unforgiveable. But hey, ultra-low paid fools abandoning their part of family life remain, two a penny! Think on as tramping is not the life of anyone who cares for someone else?
