So excited for the friends to lover video! It’s my absolute favorite trope. Here are my recommendations -people we meet on vacation -love light farms -love and other words -every summer after These are pretty popular though so I’m excited to see some of the indie recs other people have 😊
My favourite fake dating stories is when the partner whose pov we don't get secretly likes the main character. On the flip, I don't like fake dating that is to try to win back exes
the one true chloe liese book is the second one in the bergman brothers series, i can never remember the title (the titles in that series are so generic i hate them) BUT omg it's SO GOOD. i struggled through book one but book two was AMAZING.
for me fake dating is one of the best things but i despise marriage on convenience. i can't explain it, but thet give me very different things and vibes and marriage of convenience pisses me off and gives me anxiety. i feel like the character is just so stuck in this situation. like you either make it work or you're fucked basically. cause you can't just leave. you'll have to divorce. and chance are you can't divorce cause there is probably a reason you got married in the first place and that reason doesn't just go away cause you can't make this relationship work. idk, it really bugs me X﹏X
Marriage is something that is a big, legal, and semi-permanent decision. Like if one of the people wanted to be mean at the divorce you could lose your house, pay spousal support etc instead of a clean break. Plus fake dating can be fun and silly, like being put into awkward positions cause your friends think you're actually together

Fake dating is definitely one of my favorite tropes! And now I want to check out The Front Runner and First Down. That Kind of Guy was also my favorite of the Ravenswood series. The first two definitely leaned more into the small town aspect, but I think I read those too close to the Brown Sisters so I kept comparing them, which is why this was the standout for me.
In defense of two wrongs make a right the reason for why they wanted revenge. I get why some may find that unrealistic but I have had people in my life yes with the best of intentions quite frankly ignore my feelings and not respect me to know what’s best for me. Even knowing I’m ACESPEC they were condescending and just overall showed they don’t really care about what I want but what they think I should want. So yeah reading a book that says this behavior this disrespect this condescension and complete disregard for your feelings is wrong and my feelings of hurt and anger are valid was nice. I’m not a revenge person and wouldn’t do what they did but hearing characters say it is wrong was nice and cathartic

The second book in Grace Reilly's series is really good ( I think it's called Break Away), but again not super original storyline. I read it after reading 4 or 5 hockey romances close together, so it didn't do it for me. Still recommend trying it though if you're in a hockey romance mood.
I too hated Two Wrong Make a Right. I finished reading this two weeks ago and I still think about it and get mad lmao. When she wasn't tripping or falling or spilling things on people, she was crying. the last 10% and the reason for the breakup? give me a break. I usually eat up the longing glances and the sparks they mention but they were added on at random times and I hated it lmao

I just finished a great friends to lovers romance that I've never heard anyone mention. It's called 'A really bad idea' by Jeannine Colette. Another one that is very popular right now is 'Next of Kin' by Hannah Bonam Young. Can't wait for the next one, because I looove friends to lovers 🥰
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Boston Love series by Julie Johnson, I never hear anyone talk about them and I love them so much. For tropes, with those books the only one I can really think of is Brothers best friend in the second book called Cross the Line.
One thing I noticed about mariana zapata is she likes her ML's to be vocal when it comes to being guarded and things they disklike but when it comes to when they fall in love they stumble awkwardly at the start but they show their love through small daily actions that compound LOL. Ex Kulti He would ask Sal for a ride constantly (they ended up making a routine of it) because it was one way he could be alone with her and he really liked spendeing time with her that even those car rides were not enough and then he wanted to join her at the games she played outside or meeting her family etc. I know similar things happened in TWOWAM but I have not read it in so long.
Just finished Two Wrongs Make a Right and it was a big meh for me. The way the ending played out pushed my rating down at least a star too, it was the like characters had to both get in one big immature thing in.

I actually love Chloe liese so much, she was an auto buy author for me for a while. But I hated two wrongs make a right so much. I started with the second Bergman brothers book which is FANTASTIC and I can’t recommend enough. I actually started with the second, then read the rest, then eventually went back and read the first one in that series, which was very disappointing. So honestly I would say if you don’t like two wrongs makes right or the first book in that series pls pls still try the second Bergman brothers book, it’s so much better than those two I promise But ya I feel you so hard on two wrongs make a right, it was so disappointing and I just a didn’t like any of the characters, even though I appreciated the representation and stuff
