I love watching your crochet videos! You make your videos slow enough that I can keep up and not have to pause all the time! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your talent with the world!
My goodness, THANK YOU FOR THE EXPLANATION with the stitches! When you said hills and valleys it all fell into place! I'd spent a 1/2 hr pausing, rewinding, pausing, rewinding another site...it was grueling. You could hear the 'click' in my head when you said "hills and valleys"!!! Merci beaucoup 🤗
I like making the V, and the Hilltop, and the Inverted V (decrease stitch), and skipping the Inverted V on the next row to create a valley. I enjoyed and appreciate this tutorial. This is going to be my next crochet project! THANK YOU!
Your tutorials are the best - you film close up and tell us exactly where to make each stitch. And you repeat plenty so we all can crochet along with you to get started. This is a great pattern if you don't want a complicated pattern. Relax and enjoy this one!
I've been looking for this pattern and have seen several from other channels. Why didn't I look to my go to guy first? DUH-I should have known FS would have this! The best part-you make it make sense! Thanks so much-you never fail!😀
I just came across your page. I was looking to learn this stitch. I could listen to you for hours. Great instruction and easy to follow! You are my new favorite. Thanks so much 😊
I’ve been all over the web looking and learning to crochet. You’re an excellent teacher and your work is beautiful. I love this blanket here. Thank you!
This is very nice, Craig!! I’ve been looking for a ripple stitch pattern for an Afghan. I’m glad you offer this. Following you on a video is so calming and reassuring to me. Thank you for being you!
You're a GODSEND to crocheters .....learnt so much from u... I can't crochet each fast enough then u got another one going. I crocheting my fingers away for our church bazaar ...love your work also the detailed tutorials. ... Thanks
I’ve been looking for an afghan pattern but nothing was right until I found this. It is perfect for what I wanted and your instructions are, as usual, flawless. Thank you so much. xoxo
Thank you, Cat! If you use a variegated yarn, just be sure to use one with a colorway that isn't too short and choppy, otherwise the detail of the stitch will get lost and the colors will look muddled. 😉🕸☕🕷
Thanks for making this so easy. Making my son a afghan and you have made it so simple to follow. I have struggled with chevron or ripple stitch for ever.
Love this. I have a ripple stitch wrap that I started but haven't been happy with, and this is exactly what I was looking for. Now I get to frog and restart with this instead 😀
I will try this one but right now I am still making the virus blanket. This one takes along time to make . Thanks for the two parts They surly helped me I like one of a kind blankets. I still wished I could have got the Catherine wheel video but when you stopped so did I This one has a one row repeat so maybe this one will be next Thank you for your time showing us all the different patterns thumbs up 👍
Oo Iv been waiting to do a ripple blanket 👏 this is the one , thank you spider can't wait to do it 😊Amanda , and I will be able to catch up on watching you on your brilliant gaming channel while I crochet , yeah win win ❤️xx
Hi there. I'm almost going to complete a blanket with this pattern. I was wondering if there's a tutorial on how I can do a border on all 4 sides. Thank you
Thanks for this! Your pacing is great & your hills/valleys helps a lot. May I suggest you mention that sc is for V's only? I kept having to rewind to double check. I'm one of those folks that is easily confused with patterns ending row/next row steps is a bit troublesome...d'oh!
Nicely explained, but I wanna ask a question. Can I use this pattern to design a skirt or dress, if so please can you tell me how to work the starting chain before going into the pattern?
Hi 👋 I have been asked by my grandson to make a Batman cape and 🎩 ....you are my go to person for shawls and blankets and was wondering if you had any ideas on the cape /shawl I could use... thank you 🙏 x
I absolutely LOVE this stitch!! I made a shawl using this stitch, and it looks great!! My only concern is the starting chain on the finished product. it looks messy...not as tight as I'd like. Is there any way to kind of "clean up" the starting edge?
I do have a couple that may fit the bill for you - The night moves shawl/scarf ruclips.net/video/4mK_pvsoqz8/видео.html The vagabond shawl revisited ruclips.net/video/aA0Q8dhCpmI/видео.html And the Wild Wheat shawl ruclips.net/p/PLocV9YYcJy2RBLF_GgoN0A3B7qEK1Nf29
Fiber Spider It's a gorgeous one , I did it as soon as your released it. I've done 4 Seaside shawls. One in hand dyed by myself 4ply, 1 in malabrigo 4ply. 1 in Mandala and 1 in the sirdar cake. Amongst some of the other shawls of yours 😊 Thankyou for all that you do for us ladies, and gentlemen of course. 😊💕 It's surprising how different plys can change the look of one pattern. 💕Amanda xx
Which hooks do you recommend? I get so frustrated because the “hook” part of the hooks just don’t seem deep enough to grab the yarn. I always use the hook size recommended. Looove your videos.
It can be trial and error with hooks. I highly recommend getting an ergonomic hook for help in longer crochet time without having body issues. A easily found brand in Boye hooks found at your local hobby stores and even at Walmart. The Cadillac of hooks is the Clover Amour brand. It seems to just glide in the crochet process without having yarn splitting issues. I recommend getting one of each brand to start in readily used sizes such as [H, I & J].
I personally started with the Boye hooks brand as they were easily available at my local grocery store where I shopped weekly. I have since tried and prefer the "Cadillac" brand of Clover Amour hooks. These I find in the familiar craft stores where some have better coupons over others which help in the purchase costs. The Clover Amour's are well worth the extra money and worth the expense.
I decided to just leave my blanket without a border but I started a second blanket and I crocheted the first row into the back bump of the chain and it seems to be neater and less flimsy a little more sturdier.
Muy bonito 😊Gracias y un placer un hombre interesado en este Arte 👍
I love watching your crochet videos! You make your videos slow enough that I can keep up and not have to pause all the time! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your talent with the world!

Love your tutorials.
Absolutely stunning!! I see a variegated afghan as a future project. You have so many great projects- I have a hard time deciding which to do next!

Working on the feather and fan, but I laid it aside to follow you on the V stitch. Love it, and love you.

A lovely stitch ,and tutorial. l love the shape of the head of your hook. Can you let us know which hooks you use. 😊Thankyou, Amanda xx 😊💕
Thank you! Most of the hooks I use are Boye brand. I like the rounded hook instead of the more abrupt/sharp edged ones.
Thanks for this! Your pacing is great & your hills/valleys helps a lot. May I suggest you mention that sc is for V's only? I kept having to rewind to double check. I'm one of those folks that is easily confused with patterns ending row/next row steps is a bit troublesome...d'oh!

Which hooks do you recommend? I get so frustrated because the “hook” part of the hooks just don’t seem deep enough to grab the yarn. I always use the hook size recommended. Looove your videos.
Sometimes it helps to move up a size or so in hook size or down depending on the size of the yarn.

Base chain: 14+5 chains
Do you do an edging for this blanket?
great jog tyvm
Is this written because I already made this but I cannot follow the first row
14 plus 5
I decided to just leave my blanket without a border but I started a second blanket and I crocheted the first row into the back bump of the chain and it seems to be neater and less flimsy a little more sturdier.
