Good info for beginners from the Aimpoint guys in Sweden. Respect to my friends in Sweden!
Just picked up my first optic and because of you, it's an Aimpoint
That guy looks and sounds like the guy that Bruce Willis fights with in all those Die Hard movies
I also use 5 shot groups because 1 of the 3 could be a pull the other could be breathing so 5 shots gives me a good accurate grouping to start from
Beautiful G36C!
Eric is Sweden's National Glowering-Champion
Welcome to Sweden, Mr. Vickers. Had I known you'd be here I would have tried to get the chance to meet you or at least spot you in the distance. :) Big fan.
Great video! Thanks for posting as I really appreciate it. Good info.
I put the rifle/upper in a rest of whatever type I can rig.
I line the bore up with the center of a target at 50 yards by eyeball.
I crank the optic down to center-ish of the target.
It usually takes one 1 round group to get zeroed. The second shot hits bulls.
Once I had a gunsmith lasersight an optic. It was off by about 37 miles at 100 yards. I'm rounding down. It may have been more than 37 miles off target.
A mile off is pretty dangerous but nearly 3 dozen miles off sound very dangerous. I’d throw that optic away before you kill someone 37 mile away.
Thank you for the video. I love my Aimpoint.
That G36 is used by the Swedish special forces (SOG). I think they use the micro as well.
Very helpful video. Much oblige!
I'm from Sweden!! Gilla om du e svensk...
Something I don't quite understand about aimpoint, is that they use an LED for the emitter. Most LED's have about a 55,000 hour life span. Meaning, leaving it on for 6 years would effectively use up the life span of the emitter.
I don't hear about LED's in aimpoint's going bad, so either the life span of LEDs are generally a LOT longer than 55k hours, or aimpoint gets some seriously high quality LEDs.
I dunno but my micro t1 is almost 9 years old and has gone thru 3x battery changes - works fine
1:09 fires weapon, does not blink. I think he's done this before.
Regarding 3:53. My elevation knob doesn't make the clicking sound like how the windage one does. I still feel the positivity of the detent but with no clicking sound. Is that still ok?
You pay a premium for an Aimpoint sight, something I don't really mind all that much. Keep in mind that you are paying extra for something that is of high precision, lasts a lifetime, is manufactured in a western nation by a company that stands behind their product, doesn't cut corners, and employs workers who are fairly compensated.
i can’t possibly care less about anything you said, Nick Joslin. not a year ago when you said it, and definitely not now. you have to keep in mind your hippie bullplop is the kind of thing that gives me a big floppy half chub.
@@boobam3648 found the guy who buys airsoft optics
@@hm096 nah he buys Chinese optics LoL
I thought this sight was intended to be used with both eyes open.
Not squinting as with a scope.
Indeed, might be best used with the front lens cap closed (as some suggest).
What am I missing here?
I have dominant Left side and shoot from Right side.
Anything thats is from Scandinavia are built tough no questions asked ,
like Nokia, Volvo and A
impoint
pretty good!
Where can we find that target? The ones on Aimpoints website are not like that one.
thompson robert do you have a link?
Is this the same as zeroing for 50 yards at 25 yards with iron sights? POA is approximately 1.3" over the POI. I want to zero my AR with the Aimpoint PRO for a 36 yard zero at 25 yards. Should I follow the same procedure? For a 36 it should be about 3/4" difference POA over POI. Can anyone corroborate? Thank you.
Why can't folks say which way to move the dots and what that does to the poi.? Y'all shot low and right, so which way did you move the dots?
The controls are labeled for the way you move the impact of the bullet. In other words is you want the impact of the round to move left, move the dial in the direction indicated as "left" if you want it to hit higher move it towords the direction indicated for "up". Right or down would be the same principle. The only time this is different is zeroing iron sights, using front sight adjustments.
G36!
So question about the target you guys are using, I see they offer the targets on Aimpoints website. Did he add the white dot to the target? He mentions something about the zeroing that specific rifle and the ballistics and thats why he is using that white dot and that point of aim. I have one of Tom Bostic's new G36C (T36) and plan on zeroing my T1 soon and was looking at getting a target off aim points site and I guess zeroing like you guys are in the video.
So here is what the video is really about, that is totally what the civilian g36 is gonna look like, are you gonna make the announcement Larry?
Do I need to have the rifle laying on something to stabilize it or can I do this standing with it shouldered?
Good info
Has anybody noticed a change of impact when changing the brightness level of the dot from the initial Zeroing ??
Is there a recommended distance for sight relief?
hmmm, i thought u loctite the screws that go into the aimpoint itself...?
Just used my $800 red dot and it won't zero at all.
Is this a movie!? What's with all the music?
Where can I go to download (print ) that exact target ??
www.vigilanceelite.com/blogs/vigilance-elite-blogs/36-yard-zero
Why dont you sight in point of aim point of impact? Im a little unsure why the Aimpoint sighting target it setup that way.
Because the optic is so far above the boreline, at 25 yards your impact is still very low compared to point of aim for a 100 or 200 yard zero.
Andrew Browning I thought the reason you aim high and hit low at 25 yards is because the 5.56 mm bullet stays low until it gets to 37 yards. Then it rises and hits 2"-3" high at 100 yards. The Swedish guy was right that you should check your point of impact at the longer rages to know where your bullet is hitting at that range.
Good info. 👍😊🇺🇸✝️
If you have a carbine ready for CBC environment, but you may have to engage far targets as well, what will be the best zeroing option? Still 25, or 50, 100?
100 yds
Tnx!
Don't like this tiny sight on this size weapon. Might as well just use an RMR. A Comp or a Pro would be a more appropriately sized sight.
Good stuff! Got a feeling Aimpoint stock is going to go up.
So when I'm zeroing I shouldn't be on target at 25 yards? I should be hitting two inches below where I'm aiming?
yes sir
Yes, close distance the bullet drop abit lower than aim. At mid distance its around the highest point, before it drops down again.
Better to shot abit low on shorter distances (but still hit the guy where it drops him) than shooting high on 100-300 metres. Better to "hit where you aim" on those distances too
aimpoint good
Turn the bongo drums all the way up!
The music?
Why is that target not availeable on aimpoint webpage??
Will this hold o on 12 ga pump shooting slugs trying to find something that works and want break the bank. Poor Boy
Was this shot pre T2?
I'm using a rather inexpensive "TruGlo" on my 9mm carbine. Super hard to DOPE. Using a weapon of such limited power with a red dot, how many meters (yes, I'm American, I just took the time to complete the 8th grade) would you suggest that I start sighting in my red dot, and from how far away should I "call it good"?
Point of Aim is Point of Impact @ 50 yards = DONE
Good man.....Did it in the standard 9 rounds.
why music?
Someone don't know, how to use a Reddot. Why is he closing his eye while using a 1x Reddot?
Larry Vickers is former special forces. He knows what he's doing.
Wonderful- The instructor has an accent and your blaring music in the background. Rank amateurs.
Music is too loud
Aim point is considered among the best combat proven optics out there but the HK G36 is considered by their own soldier as a piece of junk. The barrel is too thin and over heats within 3 full magazines in a firefight and the barrel shroud does too good of a job keeping hand from burning that it takes forever to cool down and the charging handle flexes too much and feels like it will break. Also magazine release is considered slow to drop magazine unlike the AK tapping spent magazine technique.
wrong in all points
+KieferDragoner Please explain your points as being wrong with these points. I am only pointing out the direct input from the soldiers who are actually using it in combat and not some private owner who leaves their civilian version in a safe and fires their rifle lightly. I assume HK will eventually clear up the designed flaws but at the time it is not battle worthy.
+Joe Blow +Joe Blow No german soldier ever reported one of the issues you listed above, there was acutally a report not so short ago which asked 200 german combat vets about their experience with the G36 in Afghanistan and the feedback was only positiv or neutral (descriped as extremly reliable, easy to manipulate and they did not noticed any accuracy issues).
However the german ministry of defense made a test with fatal results for the G36.
HK tried to get the test, but the ministry of defense doenst want to make it public and just releases the negativ result.
Experts belive the defense minister needed a distraction from other far worse scandals and the G36 was about to be replaced anyways because its getting too old.
There is also a theorie why only the german military had problems: after reunification of east and west germany the government could not spend much money on a new rifle, so they stopped supporting HKs development of the (extremely expensive) G11 and requested a new assault rilfe. HK made it as cheap but at the same time as good as possible and used a different mixture for the polymer to reduce costs even more. Those guns were given to the Bundeswehr, later made models have the correct polymer (like the prototypes), that why no one else is having problems.
Less cool filming, more teaching.
''Even'' here in Europe?
We're American. We sorta don't have respect for european laws.
Does the rds go off
Music is annoying and totally unnecessary.
Turn the music Off
Great I can't understand this guy.
Please kill the background drama music.
"Even here in Europe" ... you know where Aimpoint comes from, dont you?
He's just giving info chill bro
I didnt meant to sound aggresive. If this was the case i am sorry.
Not allot of gun ownership in Europe is what I figured...
parler français svp
Thats G36 i have that gun but mine said G39 coz its airsoft hhaha well i got the real one
A Swede trying to tell me how to zero a sight 😂
that is NOT how you zero in a sight. Constant shooting position changin, no breathing control, probably poor trigger control either, no wonder you r group was bad.
Why the shooter close one eye?????
Should NOT!!!!!!!!!!!
***** What is your take on us swedes except for our fine ladies? :)
Terrible video. Doesn't tell me about how to set thing up on a rifle.
What do you mean? You just put it on the rail and it's good to go.
David Darby this was a confusing video. Too much background noise from the music and both gentlemen in the video giving instructions just adds to more noise and confusion.
Recommendation....Have someone who speaks English. I need an interpreter to understand anything he says
Im pretty sure Larry mentioned he was in Sweden dude
+Kleinster99 If you listen to him you can understand. Even I can understand though I'm not a native English speaker.
cry babay
Yea and what do you do if the only fucking ranges around you only go up to 100yds....
