I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on 1911 pistols, aimpoint glass that Larry highlighted on his channel. To this day, and thousands of rounds later, guns and glass are fully functional. Buy once, cry once.
I like how you're running the Surefire on top and forward of the front sight post. I'm going to put a few rounds through that set up. Thanks for the idea.
Thank you LAV, that's a good point about the sight placement. I'm always putting the dot as close to my face as possible but I'm gonna have to rethink that. Which means more funtime ;-)
Good advice! Regarding the setting for the intensity of the dot, I always adjust mine so that I can still see it clearly when I trigger my weapon light, because if I have to shoot someone in my house my Streamlight TLR-2G is very likely going to be on when I fire the shot. If the dot is bright enough that I can see it with that light on, it's also bright enough that I can see it outside in the daylight.
That Comp M5 looks like an answer to prayer for me. I love Comp M4 and Micro T1 but the Comp M4 is a little big for my taste and the Micro has too small of a sight picture. That M5 looks like a very good compromise.
Everything Mr. Vickers says is very educated and it comes with lots of experience. Love these videos! Btw I was the First comment and first like.... let’s goo.
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!

Well done man. It's not often you see sponsored videos give good advice that can be used in any situation. I learned a lot. Edit: I noticed the charging handle was moving when he shot. Is this why so many of them have locks on them now?
Good catch ! I left that in as an Easter egg; it’s a prototype charging handle that I had been using that occasionally popped out of battery. I saw it in the edit but decided to leave it in the video to see who would catch it !
Everyone is talking about the charging handle, but what about the "BCM prototype MK2" rifle that Larry is mounting a red dot on? (Not the shooting video) Notice the oversized receiver lugs for the cam pin on the left side of the rifle.
When I was in Israel I noticed the IDF has their MARS and M21 mounted way up front and have a cable secured to the weapon to insure your not loosing a $1500 optic.
Well I think that is stupid, a good mount will not come off and if it should then you have iron backup sights. I prefer losing my sight over getting caught with my cable in stuff if shtf.
it is more for the black out of sight an not really running co witness it is so in a pinch you can pop the fucker off an be gtg that is more likely than the other bs my buddy spent 4 years idf an he uses qd shit on everything to the point he gives me his old shit when the levers snap or get loose i just buy oem parts fix it an throw it on w.e. im shooting at the time even my bb gun has a aimpoint used to have a idf meps or wtf ever the thing is dorky white thing off a tavor lol

Why use a paint marker when the AR,s already have the T markings on the rail? Find the correct placement an reinstall on the identical number...just saying.

Hi, could someone be so courteous as to direct me to a video in which Mr. Vickers addresses high versus low-ready/starting position. And, more specifically, why low-ready is taught amongst the rangers and CAG, while high-ready is maintained and taught in the NSW community. Many thanks.
great stuff Larry, but in the end I see you shooting with one eye closed, and in other shots u shoot with both eyes open..I have always learned to look with both eyes at the target (with reddots)...what's your view?
Is it really necessary to keep the Aimpoint turned on at all times when you have backup irons on? If the Aimpoint is your only method of sighting then sure, but in an emergency you could simply use the irons until you get an opportunity to flick that red dot on.
Some people hust prefer it as they may not know exactly when they need to use their rifle. If someone starts shooting at you in the middle of the night the last thing you want to be doing is fumbling for the on switch.
BCM MK2 Prototype huh? Whats that about? Details please. Edit: A couple people already mentioned this, but I'm going to as well. What's up with that charging handle?

Larry how come you always have your front sights flipped up or on when running an optic?(even one like an aimpoint) Or anyone if they could let me know that would be amazing.

thinkabout how the Gas key passes through the hole at the base of the charging handle inside your upper receiver. There is really no worry about the charging handle hitting you in the face with any force.
nice, i just bought a H2, stills feels a bit weird having both eyes open and how the visual looks while doing it , but im guessing it will come good later.
I have spent thousands of dollars over the years on 1911 pistols, aimpoint glass that Larry highlighted on his channel. To this day, and thousands of rounds later, guns and glass are fully functional. Buy once, cry once.
Got it, what’s up with a charging handle moving like that? Too much gas?
Just because you can't afford it, doesn't mean it's overpriced.
Yeah what the hell
Yo that charging handle Was doing something weird!
Chris Loew, at least in not the only one to have seen that oddity. Still waiting for a response as to WTH is up with that. Hmm.
The charging handle will do that if it’s not locked down all the way or the spring is bad in the latch, that’s also a prototype rifle
I like how you're running the Surefire on top and forward of the front sight post. I'm going to put a few rounds through that set up. Thanks for the idea.

Great video. I learned several improtant things here I did not watching quite a few other videos!! Thank you!

Thanks for the Tips Larry. I use an Aimpoint PRO myself on my AR, love it. Thanks for you efforts and sharing your knowledge.
I may not afford Aimpoint, but these tips are universal and very helpful.👍
Awesome help. Thank You Larry for all your tips
Everything Mr. Vickers says is very educated and it comes with lots of experience. Love these videos! Btw I was the First comment and first like.... let’s goo.
Rus ridge Understandable
Daniel Mendieta haha regrets? (Orders the most expensive drinks)
Excellent video! Thanks Larry
Man these guys are good , I had to re-watch this to see that charging handle action , nice job viewers !
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
WOW! I love the front & rear sight.
No challenge to Mr. Vickers but I was always taught and did teach shoot the optic with both eyes open. Whatever works the best for you I guess
He said in the sling set-up vid that he's left eye dominant and shoots rifles left handed. Thus, right-hand shooting, close left eye.
You make a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Anyone else notice the charging handle bouncing back?
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
I know I'm 4 years too late but I noticed this upon watching and was hoping it was addressed in the comments.

Awesome advice as usual LAV 👍🏾😉
Great pro-tips. I'll be sharing them with my guys
never mind. they are scalar works iron sights
Yup
My AIMPOINT Light intensity is always set high enuf for my white light at night
When I was in Israel I noticed the IDF has their MARS and M21 mounted way up front and have a cable secured to the weapon to insure your not loosing a $1500 optic.
A huge part of idf mentalety about equipment is having every small piace of it secured with either a 550 cord or smaller ones for things like optic.
Well I think that is stupid, a good mount will not come off and if it should then you have iron backup sights. I prefer losing my sight over getting caught with my cable in stuff if shtf.

Larry, is it possible to give me (us) some tips on how to train to shoot the red dot optic with both eyes open?
Larry knows his shit....
Sick Gameplay.
Time to recharge the faith....
The upper says it's a prototype and might be the cause for the carry handle movement.
KowOneOhTwo that was a different upper
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
Great video, thanks Larry🇺🇸
The explorer is the best part of that setup
Sure love your AR15 and how its set up :D Pretty sweet lookin gun.
Mark dice music at the end 4:37
I noticed your charging handle reciprocating some Larry.. Is that on purpose?
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
Good stuff brother..That's half the fun when trying a new idea...Seeing how you can tweak it to get it to do exactly what you want..Take care
Why use a paint marker when the AR,s already have the T markings on the rail? Find the correct placement an reinstall on the identical number...just saying.
SQR Try remembering each rifles number for which optic....Colored markings makes it very simple
Shawn Thompson Yeah it can also be used for that as well, not the only reason though
why is his charging handle moving when he fires the gun? ive never seen that.
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
Based Uncle Larry
Awesome video as always! Anyone know where i can buy a similar cap that Larry is wearing?

I like the MRO but this video gave me some good ideas
Excellent tips
great stuff Larry, but in the end I see you shooting with one eye closed, and in other shots u shoot with both eyes open..I have always learned to look with both eyes at the target (with reddots)...what's your view?

Awesome video ✌️
Nice one Larry !
What about the CZ carbine from last shot show ?
Great video
Curious about those Iron Sights. Are those DD irons, or am I living under a rock? Would love to see more Aimpoint tests.
Iron sights are Scalarworks.
Good stuff LV!
Please do a video on the sam-r please
Larry, can you comment on the recent trend of people running fixed rear sights with red dots again? It's like a throwback to 2001 with the CompM2's.
I’ve always done that - only way I roll
Larry, can you do an overview on the rare Knight's SR-47 prototype and some background into its intended application?
I'm curious about that new rifle?
Sweet BCM Proto MK2
Beautiful rifle
Great video what kind of backup sights are you using.
gixxerjunky is right. They retail for a set at 249.99
SKD Tactical carries them at $219 and when they do one of their XX% off everything sales, the discount applies to them.
Who makes that rear sight ? First time I saw one. Thank you
The front irons too look nice
make a video about the msbs
GOOD STUFF!!! :-) :-)
What is the story on the BCM mk 2 prototype?
Is it really necessary to keep the Aimpoint turned on at all times when you have backup irons on? If the Aimpoint is your only method of sighting then sure, but in an emergency you could simply use the irons until you get an opportunity to flick that red dot on.

What was that beautiful looking prototype upper?
Awesome!!
Se parece ala g28 por el diseño y por el disparo semiautomático
BCM MK2 Prototype huh? Whats that about? Details please.
Edit: A couple people already mentioned this, but I'm going to as well.
What's up with that charging handle?
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
BCM Prototype Mk2 upper receiver? What is going on with that?!
I'd love to know
Justin Miller a year later and we still don’t have any information
I want one. Wish I had the money 😕
Why was the charging handle popping in and out of place
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!

what iron sights are being ran with that comp m5?
Jesse Winkel Daniel defense fixed iron sights
they seem to be skeletonized. I like how the rear sight is mounted as far back as the rail allows
Those seem to be the ones made by Scalarworks
Prototype rifle or charging handle? Also caught the movement but someone beat me to it.
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!

Anyone else notice during the shooting clips he isn’t using the mk2 upper?
Larry how come you always have your front sights flipped up or on when running an optic?(even one like an aimpoint) Or anyone if they could let me know that would be amazing.
My rules are simple ; red dot sight irons up - magnified optic irons down. Easy
Larry -
What is your recommendation on co-witness - absolute or lower 1/3?
I’m a lower 1/3rd guy personally
What rear sight is this?
At 2:45, shouldn't he be keeping both eyes open?
Yes if I was shooting from my dominant side - on the right side I have to close one eye
Ah ok, thanks for the info! Love the vids and look forward to more.
What charging handle is that? So I never buy one lol.
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!

thanks, and greeting from germany (lake of constance)
Why don't you talk about that prototype
Am I the only one focused on the BCM prototype MK2?
Nope. I'm wondering about that myself. Frank Proctor even has one..
bcm prototype??🤔
LAV out!!!!!
That rifle is heavily over gassed!
did anybody else notice the charging handle move back and forth?
Good job !! You guys caught the Easter egg I left in the video !! It was a prototype charging handle that we were tweaking when this was filmed - I saw it in the edited video but decided to leave it in to see if you guys would catch it; well done !!
Vickers Tactical I caught the Mk 2 Prototype Receiver, too.
Charging handle unlocking during operation? No locking lever on the handle? Interesting, Never seen that. Be careful man.

Sounds about right. Still no reason to downvote LAV, in my opinion.
