You COMPLETELY forgot the major factor of the effect of cool temperatures and relatively low humidity and their effects on battery life while stored in my mom's basement.
Nelson LeDoux
👏👏👏👏👏
All sights are effected by cold weather
which one will stand up to moms meatloaf being spilled on it, while I shout at her for barging in while my little man is stuck in the sweeper?
Lee Mast how can anyone support this company when they knownglgy sold the military defective sights? They put lives at risk. dont give them an ounce of your money-ever! F No

I use both Eotech’s and Micro T2s. Love them both, and use both for different purposes. Every Christmas I put new batteries in every single optic I own. I think of it as “I’m giving my platforms presents”. That way, regardless of how much use the optics get every year, they always start the new year with a fresh battery. Treat em right, and they’ll take care of ya.
dude thats kinda stretching it
@@Donnydarco100 how they have 3-5 year battery lifespan’s
@@Donnydarco100 The lifespan of the battery is up for question after some time, especially if you put in a battery that you might not be 100% on the date of manufacture with.
i like to put my eotech behind my aimpoint so i look extra cool
Paolo Deep - if you mount them facing each other, and you look through one... you can see briefly into the future.
Nelson LeDoux
Only briefly, though. EoTech battery life is about as long as a gnat's dick.
Paolo Deep I think the correct answer is eotech on the top rail and aim point on a 45° offset for those fast transitions
Brilliant! May mount a TRO at 45 also....
Paolo Deep i saw a swat guy mount an acog behind an EOtech.
Can't wait for EOPoint vs AimTech
In another universe this exists
That intro was the best so far
Still think same?
eotech, aimpoint, trijicon.... who cares as long as you look good.
In my opinion, nothing looks better than a carry handle.
Man,I said the same thing, and then I by chance came across an eotech. I will never use any other optic of any kind ever again. Every other optic is for sale now all to be replaced in time.
Hope your joking...
@@michaelsparks8108 *you're
I’ve noticed the eotech brightness issue when playing battlefield as well. Great point GT.
But which one will help me rescue my waifu pillow or raid my mom's fridge for chicken tendies?
Chinese optics to save chinese cartoons.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj Anime is Japaneses
@@phalanx3803 No! Anime is chinese. (China numbah wan!) I should know because I read the mangos and know all the chinese cartoon characters. My favorite mango is Naruto, where Gintama becomes the goblin slayer magical girl idol with the help of the allspark in order to slay the Titans in a cooking competition on ice.
Gaayyy! You jackasses is why the commie dems think gun owners are stupid.
@@michaelsparks8108 shut the fuck up nerd
This was a solid review. You kept it concise and to the point. Good to see the point of view of an action guy expressed professionally and filmed in this quality. One thing I would say in favor of the Eotech is the 7m meter index it provides at the bottom of the circle which allows the ability for surgical shots at closer ranges without needing mechanical offset. I know eyeball over shoulder moments aren't extremely common, but that is a feature I wish Aimpoint and Trijicon would figure out how to add to their units.
I have an astigmatism and the holographic is so much clearer than a red dot. If I look through my rear peep while looking at the eotech, I can still see the holo is clearer than without the peep sight. Even though the eotech doesn't completely solve my tism, it's so much sharper than the red dot. I hope anyone with glasses reads this if they're between the two
The Eotech does look cool af
miletello1 just bought on like 15 seconds ago The zombie stopper with biohazard retical lol 😎 for my sks shotgun or ar what ever best purchase ever love my eotechs used them for ever and will now continue to use them more

The eotech looks cooler, why didn't you say that first dang that's all i needed to know
So glad you did this video! been waiting!
My gosh, seeing these older vids, it’s so trippy
I started out with a EOTech 512 and it was a good optic, but the battery life was a deal breaker for me. I was in the middle of stage at a 2 Gun match the batteries died on me! Not a good thing to have happen when you need it most. So, I went with the Trijicon AccuPower 1-4 and I've been much happier. I plan on getting the Aimpoint Micro T-2 because I tried a buddy's and I loved it. It's simple yet effective and has an outstanding battery life.
I just love that wide open sight on the holgraphics. The red dot sights are awesome but I find myself battling with that tiny toilet paper tube they have. The eotech and holosun holographic sights are just so much easier to use I think.
Yup 100%
Great intro (I'm prior Air Force and they do an excellent job flattening the neighborhood). Thanks for doing the comparison, very informative.
love the giant window on and the eotech setup having a 65moa cirlce and 1 moa dot making it much faster for your eye to pick up and put on a target in cqb. you don't have to search for it like you might have to do with a red dot. plus cost... Wish Aimpoint would drop the price on their optics.
just in case anyone is interested. the CR2032 batteries that most of the red dots use are the same thing that computers use for the CMOS settings, so most electronic stores will have them. We sell them for $3.99, and for a 3-5yr battery life not bad :)
I love my EOTech. Works like a friggin charm and always puts a bullet right where I need it (very quickly, might I add)
And the lack of paralax with the new ones is amazing.
Love my BCM Recce 16 with MRO. made repeatable hits with it on fig 11 tgt out to 500m. the large objective lens really help to keep a bright picture.
Given the battery life and ease of use, Aimpoint for a defensive weapon. Always ready to go. The better picture window and field of view, not to mention the fact the EOTech has a less than 1 MOA dot, that even under magnification is no bigger than 1 MOA and doesn't cover the target, makes it the better offensive and range weapon. I personally see them as two different tools for two different situations. If something went bump in the night I want an AimPoint. If I'm going out hunting or to the range or in a combat situation I want an EOtech to get on target quick, both close quarters and distance and have a better field of view for situational awareness. The newer eotechs after revision F, have solved most of the problems that plagued them. They're both very reliable now. They both have their strengths and weaknesses pick the right tool for the right job. That's why I own both. My home defense gun is an Aim point pro. My hunting and range gun is an EOTech. They both excel at what they do, but they excel in different areas.
For a SHTF combat gun id want a aimpoint as the EOtech battery life is horribel it would suck having to scavenge for batterys instead of the aimpoint lasting 8 years
@@tilvalhalla9343I know this comment is a year old, but in a shtf scenario I’d rather be looking for AAs than watch batteries
@@liltuck737I know this comment is 2 months old, but finding one watch battery every 8 years isn't that big of a deal. Keep an extra battery duct taped to your rail and you're good for another 8 years. Meanwhile, Eotech batteries maybe last a month if you kept it on and ready to go all the time.
@@heythere4970 good things batteries stay charged for years now I guess huh

what's a waifu?
If you don't know, you aren't going to want to.
Yazoo yeah my fiance just wont stop talking about trap waifus, senpais, and something called cuckolding. i think that last one is like knitting, since she described it as an activity she wants to try
TJ Bach Yes it’s literally just knitting and nothing else but sometimes men will join her with knitting. This is nothing to be concerned about.
From personal experiences, I can attest most EOTECH EXPS series don't typically last more than 100 hours if you primarily shoot in day light. Twice I had to change batteries before a match, but I still prefer them over Aimpoints for 3 Gun.
What brightness setting? The default brightness should last 600 hours unless you're cranking it up because you have trouble seeing it when it's dimmer.
@@samuelbrice3699 yeah xps2 same battery since 2016 most likely 250 hrs on it no battery change.
@@patriotsfan1236 Those use CR123 right? I’ve semi recently gotten the EXPS3-0 and have been loving it. The G33 magnifier is also very nice
Aimpoint vs Eotech: Arm and a leg vs arm and a leg
Not when it comes to parallax. Eotech is the best on the market by far.
Not really. If you buy new, exps2-0 can be had for $489(sale) - 590(retail). M4s is still 700ish and m5/m5s is 800+. Pro and aco aimpoint models are pretty good but big in general... can be had for 300.
Frankie Lopez that’s still more than my whole rifle. you underestimate my poverty
Eotech = arm and a leg
Aimpoint = 2 arms and 2 legs
Holosun lol thats all i can afford
both are incredible, cant go wrong either way
I never really grew attached to my EOTech Holographic sight but the Aimpoint Comp M4s I got is really awesome.
"The most important is to look cool". Now that's an advice you can take for life.
Thanks for the info ! Very helpful to me.
The correct answer is Trijicon.
WickedSensation The correct answer, actually is irons because they always work! ;-)
92naz32 true but irons aren't optics 😜
I do love Trijicon
Garand Thumb ever tried C-More?
Tremulousnut I had a C-more on my issued CAR-15 wayyyyy back in the day. The old school tubular one mounted on the carry handle. No idea how they are now, just thought I'd share a story 😜
Good tactical information and advice, as always
Ha! I had to back up and listen to the moab mushroom cloud part again! 😂
Same reason for both is reason I went Trijicon overseas, held up great took the beating no battery case or anything to fry out and never needed to worry about batteries one less thing to worry about, granted i had the old style yellow triangle
"We got a year before these things expires so we're going to drop all of them." Agreed 😂
I really love my aimpoint comp m4! So slim and light. (Sarcasm)
i love my Holosun 515C, outer shell looks like Aimpoint T1 but has an EOtech reticle (2 MOA dot + 65 MOA circle)! Has a CR2032 battery and a solar panel (that helps with battery life and acts as an brightness auto adjust, but you can change brightness manually if needed) came complete with killflash plus front&rear flip-up/down covers, an AR-riser and QD-mount for about EUR 300,-
and i plan to combine it with a Falke b5x, thats a 5x magnifier ;-)
I have gone with the trigicon RMO and have been very happy
By far my favorite channel I am subscribed to. I comment and like the video before I even watch it.
I love this guy's sense of humor and timing
A Video on your opinion of what weapon light to mount from size weight and lumens would be helpful and maybe mounting solutions like pressure switches and locations
subscribed and watched numerous vids, you have a great channel
you should do a video on where you buy, and how you choose your flannel shirts.
Would definitely look forward to Aimpoint vs Trijicon.
I would enjoy hearing your take on the "Meprolight Red Dot 1.8 MOA"
Fair unbiased analysis.
I think you should have also mentioned that the bdc on the eo tech is only calibrated for a certain ammunition type with a certain barrel length.
It's awesome how you come up with your knowledge quotes lol
Thanks GT. Happy Thanksgiving.
MOAB of knowledge, love it. And the flannel, of course.
You're.a Boss! Intelligent review. I love the mount I bought from you for my rifle. 2 thumbs up!
I have both and I like both. My Aimpoint has a slight edge because of its battery life and ruggedness.
on my Sig romeo 4T I can toggle between both of those reticles
Great discussion - thanks for posting . Have you tried the vortex holographic amp uh-1 sight ?
Consistanly high quality videos and content. Thumbs up.
One problem with eotech is I've found eotech is okay with a certain amount of dust under the glass. I thought it was just mine but I checked out a few at the shop, they all had a small amount of dust under the glass.
I like them aimtechs and EOpoints!
I chatted with guys from your dad's company regarding Aimpoint vs Trijicon. I like their points but definately look foward to your's as well.
I love the motion on/off feature on the Sig Romeo5. Wish Aimpoint followed suite.
I love it so much I refuse to buy an optic without it lol.
Romeo5 is such a great budget red dot. I think Aimpoint and Eotech don't use them because it's another thing that *could* go wrong. But still extremely nice.
Can you drop an MOAD of knowledge on knives you would recommend for survival / operations? That would make a dope mushroom cloud
Sig Romeo 4m : size of the aimpoint, Eotech reticle.
I've baught thoses 3 last month, sold the XPS + Micro, keepted the Sig.

Edit: If you wanna shoot faster, all you have to do is x2 the speed.
Great information here. Has anything changed in the past 2 years with either brand?
RUclips keeps un-subbing me from your channel for some reason, keep on making killer vids man!
Thanks for the video. If you had an EOTech would you take up L3 on their offer to refund the purchase price? I have the Aimpoint Pro on my main gun and the EOTech on my backup gun but have been on the fence whether or not to return it.
Adding a comment for support and appreciation
Neither one fits on this old moist nugget. I just use the bayonet when I get within 100 yards.
i got the aimpoint t2 looked at alot of reviews but no one pointed out if you have an astigmatism it looks like a star instead as a dot i own both now ,the aimpoint t2 and eotech xps2.and love them both.
Need the MOAB of the Aimpoint (or EOtech) vs the LCO
My Eotech 512 served me well on two tours and my XPS-2-2 now for my retired life ......
Before you do a review on MRO vs Aimpoint, could you also include a 3rd option in that review? I'm been giving some serious thought to the Sig Sauer ROMEO4C. And now, they have a newer model coming out, the ROMEO4T, which is suppose to be even more rugged and durable, with 4 different reticle options. All this, and considering it will be cheaper than the aimpoint, I'm not sure how it isn't better?! But this is all hypothetical because I don't own either, soooo yea... Look forward for the review!
Flan-Man.... the hero Gotham deserves
Max Hernandez thank you sir
But Gotham already has the Batman...that finally kills criminals
Holosun makes the HS503CU which as an Eotech style reticle while maintaining the the aimpoint footprint.
So I just watched a video on EOTech Redemption I too have an AimPoint T2 and an EOTech exps3 and I always like that optic more than my red dots cuz yes it does look badass but I was wondering I also have the magnifier do you keep yours on all the time or do you take it off periodically thanks thanks a lot cool ass reviews. Clint
How about a fixed power optic with a reflex companion or something like the elcan?
i tend to use a cutout of G thumbs eye it uses chapstick and flannel and the life time on it depends on how cool you look
YES - Please do an Aimpoint T1/T2 vs. Trijicon MRO/MRO-HD assessment !!!
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Acog.
I prefer the protection the Eotech provides. The whole hardhat feature of the case surrounding the optic makes me feel a lot safer when I have to move my weapon around corners and walls. I like knowing it will always work and I don't care about the damn recall I am taking my Eotech to hell and back any day!
Apparently they can have a bullet go through the glass and it will still protect a holo where the glass remains. Awesome.
Personally I like a aim point style with a eotech style reticle
That 65 moa circle is just so good
HE515gm baby 👌
Always wanted to know whats the best for putting plastic BBs on target!
i came here for gear, i stayed for the opening jokes. 10/10 m8.
Yes definitely do micro vs MRO
A video about EOTech vs. Aimpoint and I get a Vortex ad lol
I have a lower budget red dot. But a point in the favor of the plain red dot for older shooters with a stigma, the red dot is easier to see.
Do you care much about the thickness of the shell on the sight and how that affects your view?
maybe thoughts on variable optics, if you run them. since they're becoming the new craze. i've got an old Aimpoint M2 on my Ar... but the new stuff is fun to look at.
U were so serious back then 😂😂
I have a couple of the Primary Arms AMD and they are pretty great. You mentioned PA at the beginning of the video. Is the Primary Arms AMD something you would trust with your life? I have a Trijicon MRO on my go to AR.
hey garand can you do a vid on variable optics? which ever youve used. i see you have a steiner can you do a vid on products like that
Have you considered doing a video about the ACOG?
Could u do a review or talk video about the laser system on your mk18. And which manufacture u'd go with Eotech vs Steiner, for said laser system, if u can.
Great flannel. Good video. Decision made. Aimpoint. Carry on.
can you do a video on fixed vs adjustable and silkies vs UDT shorts?
