Another easy way to tell if it’s fake is look through the optics glass and see if there’s a hood hanging down kinda like a windshield visor. If it has it then it’s real. If it doesn’t have it then it’s a fake.
A coworker of mine heard that I’m in the market for an Eotech and he told me he could sell me some of his dad’s old ones. As soon as he told me that the reticle and color could be modified I remembered this video 😂. I told him switchable reticles are fake.
I have both the genuine and clone of the 552 model, I paid $485 for the genuine and $35 for the clone, one thing I found out is that if you're vision is not perfect the reticle on both models will appear a little distorted or appear as double.
Just received a fake EXPS2 from Amazon for $600. What’s also peculiar is that the Amazon store appears to be an official EOTech store somehow. Regardless, mine had several of these tell-tale counterfeit clues: red and green selector, visible LED projector, “for law enforcement uses” inscription. Also, brightness was not adjustable (up and down buttons did nothing) and there was an “NV” button that’s only supposed to appear on the EXPS3 (night vision model). That button toggled the color between red and green. Also, the reticle was not what it was supposed to be. Luckily, Amazon has a great return policy. I just went ahead and bought another one from Primary Arms.
God damit, I purchased one in Ukraine for 700$ I saw something is off as soon as I putted the battery in and no QR code. Because I used the real deal in the French Foreign Legion so I only trust Eoteck and are reliable so went for it in the UA War but now it’s all down the drain, guess lesson learned; tank you for the video I will definitely spread awareness of this from now on.!
I just bought a green EXPS2 from Eurooptic. The only suspicious thing I found is the LED glow around the edge of the glass. Is it likely I’ve just purchased a fake?
what do u think about the skw optic clone and the holy warrior clone that got released this september? both work like a real holo and are half as expensive as eotech
Regarding the sight picture, do the reticles on EOTECHS tend to be blurry on the real ones, even at low power settings? Or is that just a side effect of someone with astigmatism?
While Eotech aren’t as crystal Clear as some videos show They are still a very crisp reticle and some with astigmatism (like me) it will be a little blurry but not as bad as some. So yes A astigmatism will make it blurry somewhat
I too have astigmatism, and mine is 100% genuine Eotech, and yes without my prescription glasses on the reticle is a mess. With them tho its like he described. Looks like it's formed by thousands of small dots. Im guessing that's the laser being shaped into the image you see. No glasses, it's the general shape, but it's a fuzzy mess. And my eyes test 20/30, so not awful. The astigmatism turns it into what you describe.
I got a used xps off a vet and so far it’s looking real. Only thing is that it’s really really dim. I have to use max setting to see it in the day time. Any thoughts? Is it a old model?
I bought two recently, one in fde. They seem genuine but the fde model has buttons towards user, not on the side like the black one i bought.... Is that legit? Glass looks matte, reticle is holographic and not visible from the front. Cr123 batteries.
Just went to Shanghai China where they had a LOT of these clones out. I’m not familiar with the rear thing, but looking down the sigh of the clone, I could tell, you’d just be wasting your money.
BUT! What if you knowingly bought a fake Eotech for your awesome awesome 0.22 pellet gun...does that make me a bad baddy (what if there are no ,logos?)
Question regarding lense reflection: so a flashlight shouldn’t reflect the front glass? I notice there’s a “slight” light reflection coming from my iPhone. Can you please confirm?
Its a glass, of course there a reflection. They just use a coating that *decrease* reflection of part of the light spectrum, not all of it, and not 100%.
You really can't. They are indistinguishable and another great product by the Chinese. The new ones are flawless and come with a great sight too. The set is $100 and even if the sight gave up (unlikely) you still got a magnifier for less than a real one. It's a great buy.
I cannot believe this 1:56! I just bought a 512 from Amazon and I can absolutely see a red light if I look down at around 45 degrees from the rear. It looks totally real in every other respect. The reticle looks pixelated and everything. So this is fake?
You’re right about all the you probably won’t get the same quality, but I end of the day. I have seen a few replica eotechs That do have holographic sites and aren’t just red dots reflecting so be careful
Chinese got those actual holographic clones now, not powered by leds but lasers like the real one, and the price range is quite similar too. But at the end of the day, these clones are made for airsoft, just open your eyes while purchasing.
@@eotechincbe careful to not get scammed by paying for a real one. We know the Chinese are stepping up their game and the word is spreading fast. Maybe with enough hope you can convince enough people to not try them. That's the only way I can see you be valid by the end of 2024.
So i have an eotech that has the "for law enforcement/military use" on it. I bought it at the gunshop. But its clear, reticle is pixilated, has qr code and dates under it and the buttons are on the face rather then the side. I think its an exps2? Is it real?
Most likely real. The guy wasn’t saying any EOTECHs that say military/law enforcement use are fake. He said it’s been many years since (2015 or 2016 I don’t remember which) EOTECH has put that on their optics.
What about Ur competitor Vortex Strikefire II ? It's a not over $200 I love mine. I'm ave Joe who can't own EV Tesla but every day Joe who has old to🪀🪀 Matrix. That's why they are doing these videos. They know the fakes are almost as good and they are going everything they can to stop you from spending $100 and spend $800 with them instead because they know when you do, you'll never buy another real one again.
I doubt the people intentionally buying knock-offs would actually buy the real deal instead, they'd probably just buy another 50 dollar sight instead, these ones just have the look they want. There's real benefits to actual holographic sights, and I imagine when China figures those out, things are gonna get crazy.@@realtyrocks1969
I was just looking at sights marked as EOTech at a show. Priced at $99.00 each with magnifier. Marked as "for law enforcement/military use" No Made in China markings but not marked as made in USA. Sure look like EOTech. Seller didn't claim real EOTech, but no one would sell real EOTech sights for $99.00 .
Burned out on the insane cost of anything to do with this market, I bought a clone. It's trash. I'll be sending it back. I also won't be buying an eotech. When attachments cost more than all but top tier brand guns, it's hard to justify. One thing about this optic I will say though, it does require more tech than a $250 adjustable stock(lol). Prices in this market are stupid. What do I know though, 3d print a couple of prototype stocks with a unique feature, give it to influencers, mass print in China, assemble in America, and sell your own $25 piece of plastic for $250+ a few 1000's of times and profit!
You keep saying they won't hold zero...but I have several clones that do. No they don't have non-reflective glass but I'm never going to be in a situation where that's important. Yes my 552 is a better sight, but not +$600 better. Instead of saying "they won't work" I feel like you guys would make more headway, and more supporters, if you'd just compete with them. Make a $100~200 sight suitable for bench shooters and it'd sell great.
The fakes are damn near as good for 1/10 the price. I'd rather spend the difference on ammo and let the CEO skip his bonus. This yahoo is cracking out videos trying to discourage you from buying the clones. Fact is I've tested the recent one and they are WORRIED because it's great. Yes, it's not a holographic, it's a red dot but the new ones work great, are tough, hold zero and are accurate. I bought 4 sets of these with the magnifier and paid $100 shipped. It's obvious they are worried about the Secret getting out. I own a few real ones and never again will I buy the real one. These also have 2 colors which these turds still can't do. These guys are probably shaking in their boots. If the Chinese keep going at this rate the next one will be better than the real one.
Hi. I got an eotech online from a retailer here in europe, the retailer is optics-world. The product looks legit but I see a strange thing: when I look throught the eotech (from the side I aim) if I look at it in an angle from the top I can see in the bottom of the eotech something that looks like a red glass ( I hope I could upload a picture).
Would be great if you guys decided to lower your price... I cant see spending more for my sight than I did my rifle... sorry dude but palmetto state armory makes rifles IN AMERICA and can keep the price down so we know you can do the same... just seems once a company gets a military contract they think it's ok to bump the price 10x
Though…. Some of those features may be a good idea to integrate into the EOTECH product line . Additionally, there’s other ways to ensure clones are harder to make . Have you looked into aerated aluminum ( aluminum foam ). Cost isn’t that much more. Machining is just as smooth- but, it is lighter- and more resistant to impact than aluminum. Prettier sure you could even have castings made to lower Cnc time .
but eotech is mostly plastic already? there is little machining time involved. only the outer shroud and mount are aluminum which can be made with extrusion that is a relatively cheap process.
@@TheAceTroubleshooter you're so wrong. Aluminum is surprisingly cheap and the plastic parts are made same way. The new eotechs clones use a red dot system, not a holographic but the shell is 100% indistinguishable from the real. I've extensively tested the new one that comes with a magnifier and it's flawless. I have several thousand rounds through one that I used to attend 2 different shooting classes. Kept zero after running and shooting from prone etc. Even survived one drop. If course I didn't torture test it but I wouldn't do that to a real one either. What I do know is they hold zero and are accurate, bright, and have 2 colors which the real ones only have 1 color. I would trust my life to the new versions, absolutely. There is a reason EOTECH has put out about 10 videos recently talking about clones. They know the Chinese have stepped up their game and they are extremely worried. They know that if you try the new clones you won't turn back to a real one and the word is spreading fast.
Okay.... but ledlight signature, CAN be seen on the real thing when its on the highest setting!!!!! Basically, it tells me one thing..... its a rip off to purchase the real thing for 800, when you can have it for a 100. The clone, has few things that the real thing should implement as well. Just saying
So if you don't make a CEO rich, it's gotta suck. Buy America dut dur. Really the new ones are awesome and the only way theyll stay relevant is if they can manage to convince enough people to spend ten times as much with them. They know the new ones are kicking their ass.

And there is chinese Holly Warrior that makes the best eotech replicas, i wonder how does this compare to them :)
Have there been older Eotech models (Like before 2010) that did use other batteries than AA or CR123?
Neg
Yes. In the early days, they had N battery models. Noticably shorter than a 5X series that takes AA.
I take my eo techs like I take my milk . Straight from the source .
I take mine straight from China and I shoot the difference in ammo. They've worked great so far. That late 2023 version is flawless.

Which are your guys reliable distributors?
AliExpress is probably the top distributor.
I got a used xps off a vet and so far it’s looking real. Only thing is that it’s really really dim. I have to use max setting to see it in the day time. Any thoughts? Is it a old model?
Try new batteries
The lens on mine delaminated, they do not honor warranty from the Philippines. The reticle is a blurry mess, it is now a very expensive paper weight
Sounds more like an ad for what clones can do and eotech can’t
lol you know your company is one of the best when the company it self has to make a video on how to spot a fake because there are so many fakes
Problem is when buying online and not having “hands on” it might be hard to spot a fake.
They just use a coating that *decrease* reflection of part of the light spectrum, not all of it, and not 100%.
ok so how do we spot a fake magnifier? im going to have to buy another brand because i have no way to verify the magnifier is real.
You really can't. They are indistinguishable and another great product by the Chinese. The new ones are flawless and come with a great sight too. The set is $100 and even if the sight gave up (unlikely) you still got a magnifier for less than a real one. It's a great buy.
I don’t see any light “reflecting” but I can see a light bulb in the lens when I’m standing in front of the bulb. Is that normal?
Yep got to be very carful.
@@eotechincbe careful to not get scammed by paying for a real one. We know the Chinese are stepping up their game and the word is spreading fast. I used a fake for 2 shooting classes and shot several thousand rounds with it on my rifle. Flawless and held zero. So be careful of what? Careful of overpriced sights and CEOs not getting their yearly bonus? I'm sold on the fakes but I see you're putting out a ton of these clone videos lately. Maybe with enough hope you can convince enough people to not try them. That's the only way I can see you be valid by the end of 2024.
The question is will the clone that’s actually holographic hold true when dialed in
Why not also point out the laser sticker is different?
Thanks bud. very helpful!
And the logo looks like a knockoff on that HWS. How about Vudus?
So i have an eotech that has the "for law enforcement/military use" on it. I bought it at the gunshop. But its clear, reticle is pixilated, has qr code and dates under it and the buttons are on the face rather then the side. I think its an exps2? Is it real?
Most likely real. The guy wasn’t saying any EOTECHs that say military/law enforcement use are fake. He said it’s been many years since (2015 or 2016 I don’t remember which) EOTECH has put that on their optics.
You should really start serializing them and make a database
The Chinese will do the same. They'll pick about 10 legit serial numbers and use the same 10 numbers on all of them. Been done for years.
I have a fake, you can see the led through the front and the front glass reflects light.
Love my EO. It's just too much on pricing. Get the basic down to $400 and I bet sales will go thru to roof.
But I can only afford the knock offs...
Go for it man. The new ones are leagues better than they were a year or 2 ago. I rock fakes all the time and they stomp.
And that’s fine. It means you don’t really need a real one.
2:59 If tiny tunable solid state lasers become a thing you might be able to build a switchable reticle color 🤷♂️
Has eotech ever made the switchable colors?
Did you not watch the entire video dude? Damn.. attention span of a 2 year old much? No, they do not.
What about Ur competitor Vortex Strikefire II ? It's a not over $200 I love mine.
I'm ave Joe who can't own EV Tesla but every day Joe who has old to🪀🪀 Matrix. So I can't able to spend my hard earn dinero on over $600 to $800 on red dot. Oh yeah 4 3X magnifi I choose Primary Arms 3X wide and get there side flip mount all 4 undee $300.
Some of the knock off ones you can’t tell the difference at all 💥👌🏽
LED reticle source should always be visible.
Sooo...how do you tell from pics online? Not in person.
Where did he get that shirt?
Visible "led" light signature can be seen on max brightness in a real EOtech
That Ar in the middle scope is backwards lol
I was just looking at sights marked as EOTech at a show.
Priced at $99.00 each with magnifier.
Marked as "for law enforcement/military use"
No Made in China markings but not marked as made in USA.
Sure look like EOTech.
Seller didn't claim real EOTech, but no one would sell real EOTech sights for $99.00 .
Not sure what he's talking about with only AA or 123's being their product. Eotech made N battery versions too, 511 and 551.
Good stuff!
Is it ok if I use a fake Eotch for my airsoft gun?
Yes, of course.
No one cares what you put on a toy gun
I have a counterfeit sight, a piece of crap, does not stay on, changes color on its own, miss ed target at 25yrds, after bore sighting, junk
are there fake VUDUs out there?
yep... (evolution gear) makes one. best replica out there
Yo John!!!
Hey Hey!
Should have used the same old school style setup from the old old old video 😂
👌
This is why made is America is so expensive. You are paying for quality not quantity so don't be cheap and buy the real shit 👍
The fakes are damn near as good for 1/10 the price. I'd rather spend the difference on ammo and let the CEO skip his bonus. Sure you get to make a CEO happy and pay for some healthcare to employees but you're aren't getting much more for your money in terms of product. The word is getting out fast. The new ones are getting good.
@@realtyrocks1969 Remember the fakes one are only rated for paintball guns. They can't handle the recoil of a real rifle. I know cause I bought one on eBay and tried it myself. 👍
ill take the fake over the $800 sight any day....money dont grow on trees ... though apparently at the reserve in does
I got a brand new 512 for $240 out the door, dude said he needed quick cash.
You got a fake
@ Nope, real deal. Can’t fake a serial number and I have an active warranty through Eotech
@@eancola6111 I hope you got a real one but the serial number and the warranty mean nothing. The fakes come with them as well. You can even call Eotech, give them your serial number and they will tell you it’s correct but when you actually send that thing in to them they will tell you it’s a fake real quick…Hope yours is real but the serial number and warranty don’t mean a thing my man.
Wow that's gonna be sus to find out which is real😂
The fakes are getting wild
What they mean is the fakes are rapidly approaching the quality of the real at a fraction of the cost. They are worried!!! I don't blame them.
How do you tell a fake G33 magnifier?
Is Bereli selling real eotech?
The left one in the thumbnail is a holoson the right one is a Eotech 😂
HAHA no...
Paid $750 for a fake on amazon lucky for me I got my money back

I’m the first to like besides Eotech themselves
Are real Eotechs sold in Amazon?
I wouldn't buy one on Amazon. The thing is "Amazon fulfillment" isn't actually Amazon, it's Amazon selling and delivering on behalf of outside sellers.
If you want a REAL Eotech, buy it from a reputable dealer.
@@dirtynicky I called Eotech and the serial number is legit. The optic is authentic

I've taken one of my clones to 2 rifle classes and shot over 3000 RDS from one of them. The new ones are amazing and held zero on 5.56 - I like having both color options too. That might have been the case a few years ago. These new ones are on a different level of quality and eotech is worried.
Too late…

just saved me from buying a clone for $179.
The $179 wasn’t obvious enough???
I know it's fake when I can afford it. 😂
im looking at one on amazon right now for 53 dollars HAHAHA. i can tell its fake from the silver retention clips they are using on the wire on the frame. i will report it to amazon for youguys. i wouldnt, but they have your name on it. if they removed your name, i wouldnt care
I shoot at paper.
Hello, please the language can be put in Spanish, excuse my ignorance is that I almost don't know English, I would like it to be translated into Spanish please.
AIMPOINT
How is that going to prevent replicas in ANY way at all? Of course theyre not going to use the same materials.
Why don't yall just license your own airsoft optics? Seems like a huge market to tap into while also taking money out of the Chinese communists.
Okay.... but ledlight signature, CAN be seen on the real thing when its on the highest setting!!!!!
Basically, it tells me one thing..... its a rip off to purchase the real thing for 800, when you can have it for a 100.
The clone, has few things that the real thing should implement as well. Just saying
So if you're paying less than an arm & a leg, it's a fake.
So if you don't make a CEO rich, it's gotta suck. Buy America dut dur. Really the new ones are awesome and the only way theyll stay relevant is if they can manage to convince enough people to spend ten times as much with them. They know the new ones are kicking their ass.
