People will hate (and that hate is valid) but I personally like it a lot.
Those mad lads took the configurator and made it a real place
It's nothing close to what Lotus used to be, meaning lightweight and fun cars with an ICE, but honestly I really like the design of these new Lotus and especially this Emeya ! I think it looks great and the interior seems pretty good quality. We'll have to see if it's reliable and how it drives but i'm quite impressed with what they've done.
I don't think Lotus will be around for long. Lotus will not survive as an EV only company because people that love cars don't want EVs and people that buy EVs don't know what Lotus is.

I think it’s a Zeekr that’s actually tuned by Lotus in Britain iirc, unlike a pure Chinese-EVfication like what happened to MG.
At least that’s true for the Eletre, don’t know about the Emeya.

Shame what Lotus has done to their image. At least with the Cayenne Porsche continued to make the 911. Lotus killed the Elise and Exige and doesn’t have a single lightweight car in their lineup.

It was either that or closing up shop, sadly. I assume they will make something as light as possible when EV tech allows it.
@@username8644 I missed the part where the Emira was lightweight and not a lazy Evora refresh. Last I checked it was 3100lbs.
They're making a sports car with Renault in Europe as well as a hatchback based on Renault 5

Not really, the Emira is still produced in England, this Emeya is produced by Lotus's parent company Geely in Wuhan, China.

@@ElliWoelfinThe difference is much larger than you'd think. Like 2%. There's also way less wind noise at highway speeds (easily 50% of all wind noise can come from the mirrors)
