I remember eating at this restaurant in 1981 with my wife, English teacher and his wife. I never ate tororo before and it is an acquired taste. I thank you for making this video and how fast time goes by.
I am a black American woman. About 35 years ago, I danced as a Show Girl around the world, including in Japan. I lived there for a year in tow 6-month stints. I still marvel at the perfection and dedication that the Japanese have towards work/skills and life. I have mad respect for their culture. 🙏🏽
“I still marvel at the perfection and dedication…” Decades ago, a teacher of mine, in organizational culture, happened to mention that Japanese culture had, as one of its core values, _perfection_ (whereas, by contrast, US culture had a value of “just good enough,” or, perhaps, euphemistically called, “pragmatism”). You can see it everywhere-in the quality of its products, in the on-time performance of its trains, in the way a product is seamlessly gift-wrapped for you, even if it’s intended just for yourself. I never forgot that and admire it to this day.
I think during the video man can view almost the full spectrum of the Japanese kitchen, honestly about some food I have no clue what they are, haha. My favourite was the little balls filled with some purple thing together maybe with melon. The clean work is also amazing. Thank you for this gorgeous video.
Very elegant and impressive. I would love to have the opportunity to eat at such a lovely and professional establishment some day. Thank you for the gift of being able to observe such perfection. ☺️
So interesting. I came here to see the difference between Japanese food in Japan vs US. I don't even recognize most of the food. Looks amazing and delicious.
400 Jahre in 14ter Generation !? Woooow. ❤

@@KZ-gj3sv I figured that was the case but I didn’t know about the Japanese version or the history page in English. Thanks for the info! _Now_ I wonder how the website creator hit upon 1912.

Japanese craftsmanship at work. I am happy to witness it. Thank you.
Stunning! They are all working like dancing a very well rehearsed dance. It is a hard work.
Thanks for amazing vlog about the ancient traditional JAPANESE RESTAURANT. Next trip to JAPAN I wish to go there.
Umai! I definitely would love to visit here when i go back.
Very nice prep kitchen, I love it how they all wear a mask in the kitchen area... lovely food
I see Kirkland brand products in that kitchen. Didn't know Costco was in Japan, but it certainly makes sense that they'd be there too.
Hermosa tradición.... hermoso trabajo.. gracias 🇨🇱👍💪

The purple thing might be "Anko", the sweet red bean paste.
I want to eat there everyday! I LOVE JAPAN !!
Yummy food unique staff awesome work team ❤🙏🏼🌷
A beautiful video! Thank you for sharing. Congratulations and good wishes to the restaurant and their craftsmanship.
Very nice!
i love this restaurant.
Magnifique endroit !

Amazing knife skills! Fast and completely even slices. I would have loved to have the dishes explained

Parabéns . Tenha um ótimo dia .

Tororo is grated taro root (poi) with soup stock. Slimey texture is definitely an acquired taste.

I would like the experience of eating at a place with such long history.

🇮🇩❤🇯🇵 good video😊
I wish the captions included the names of the individual items as they were being prepped.
what a nice place :D

Awesome
Wonderful food❤🇯🇵⭐️🎉
I go to Japan semiannually and try to eat tororo each trip. Tororo soba or donburi.
Outstanding
It would be nice to have the names of each dish presented there.
Sophisticated kitchen
WOW! In Australia wishing I was in Japan at this restaurant. Also the history of the restaurant is amazing.
Some commentary would be so nice! All the food looks wonderful.
God tolerates people because of the Japanese❤!
Wow, how to make reservation there??!!@@
Love❤
I would love to and jam with yam.
What an obscure dish. Had to look it up. Tororo soup is served with cooked barley in it which probably helps offset the texture a bit.
The title says “400 years of history!” but the restaurant’s site says “Established in 1912.” What accounts for the difference?

@@jeff__w I shared the issue with awner through the inquiry form. they already fixed it👍
What was that purple thing served with the green melon or honeydew?
