This watch is a BEAST. I love mine. I have standard black dial....readability is insane...lume despite what others say....last through the night...and my 63 years old eyes have no problem seeing at night. in the early hours. Automatic snobs are missing out on a truly great watch.

I really like this watch but can’t put my finger on why. I like the look of the bracelet and maybe it’s the utilitarian look that attracts me. The diameter is great but the 50.5 lug to lug length is a bit big. I wish it were 48mm or less. Thankfully the lungs do curve down making it fairly wearable still. The duratech and sapphire crystal are awesome.

    • @SlapShotRegatta22

I live mine. No idea why everyone says the bracelet is uncomfortable because mine is absolutely 100% more comfortable than some watches I have for twice the price. That said I do wear it on a RAF strap at work for the safety incase a spring pin gives out. I use the bracelet for everything else. I also like how the bracelet and case resist fingerprint smudges. Also the bracelet is loose so it has better dexterity and moves with the wrist. If it were stiff it would really be uncomfortable. Any sports/tool watch with a bracelet will be like that.

Promaster tough all the way... no paint, etc to scratch off on the outside bezel and overall a sturdy basic watch that looks perfectly fine in business (or business casual settings)... don't consider this a beater watch as the posting person said... I'd say the TPU band version with Cordura (green/black-gray) are more beater oriented in that sense... but swapping the band(s) out addresses that. One of the best watches on the market if you want something basic, professional-looking, quality, and durable that'll last you many, many, and many years to come. I ended up getting this at $310. Not the lowest price but not bad with a retail of nearly $500... I'm a G-shock guy with military background but have this on hand for formal settings. I'm no watch pro as most people aren't... so I think your average person would be more than happy getting something like this... those lusting after the next best thing (never satisfied) that others will never notice... I guess look elsewhere from my impressions on reviews?

I've always wondered why the seconds hand doesn't register exactly on some quartz watches. Very bothersome. Is it the hand or the markers? That monocoque body says don't mess with my innards and shouts confidence about the quality. Not a trophy wife but a lifetime partner.

    • @adyyzels

Plain is good. Sometimes you just want to know within 2-3 seconds that your watch has the right time (the battery is a goer) and all you can see is the time. That is a really nice watch; maybe a little on the high side with the price. Might have a look around for one though.

I bought this watch as an EDC and alternate to my seiko sbdc063 and i like everything about the simplicity of the watch except 1 aspect. i got it so i don't knock my automatic around on the boat, but the loom doesn't last, even though when it comes out of the sun its very bright. compared to a seiko dive its nothing. i wake up a lot in the night and anytime of night, i can read my seiko easily even if it was just under normal house lights for hours previous.. the citizen is hard to read after an hour or 2.. other than that it ticks all the boxes. i wish seiko would do a basic solar SBDN065 style with bracelet and sapphire. around beaches a lot.. hardlex does scratch up a bit

I have two versions of the Inox; blue and sand grey. I also have a very thin wrist. As a result, the Inox pieces are for me hard work to wear. This Pro Tough that I have in the bracelet version as in the review is much more comfortable, and can be worn without attracting much attention due to the lack of polished surfaces. The lume is more prominent as compared to the Inox.

@@ANiCKiN just purchased a citizen promaster... Japanese domestic market. It will put up with a lot, but I actually got it for the looks. It's no competition, it's definitely a prettier watch, but throwing both this promaster and a g shock out a five story window onto concrete and then driving over it with a car...? ..the promaster is going to come out second best I'm afraid. That glass front will be smashed, there's going to be big dent marks and scuffs in its titanium, rendering it not very water resistant before having to be worked on ...the price of which may be easier to buy a new one. The g shock on the other hand, you'll still be able to put it on and continue with your day. Because plastic gives and flexes. It will definitely acquire some scuffs but be fit for use still for many years. My citizen is still in the post, and I have not got it yet, but I know, I know I've made the right decision as a second watch! I know I'm going to love it and I will never want anything to scratch it or make it look unsightly, and I'd hate anything to happen to it cos it would ruin it's look....and was not exactly cheap- 370 pounds sterling isn't just nothing, now compared to my 80 pounds sterling plastic Casio...the citizen is just, precious. If the Casio lasts 10 years, that's 8 pounds a year but they are known to many to go on for 15 to 18 years, banged up and scratched...some even longer. See where I'm going with this? Value for money. People freeze these g shocks, hit baseball's with them, boil them for five minutes in water on a stove, drive over them. With just mine I've been seeing just what is going to kill my g shock whilst it's on my wrist and I don't think there is much that will that I will survive. But it won't win any beauty contests. But then again, that's not why you get one. You have a citizen for that
