- Passionate and impassioned! Cecile McLorin Salvant sings her favorite "torch song" at the 2013 Whitley Bay Classic Jazz Party, with the estimable assistance of Ben Cummings, Alistair Allan, Jean-Francois Bonnel, Martin Seck, Malcolm Sked, Spats Langham, and Nick Ward. Recorded on November 1, 2013, by Michael Steinman for JAZZ LIVES (www.jazzlives.w...).
She is this era's great voice. Buy the records, go to the shows, support great art!!!!!
YES! She is amazing.
I just discovered her today and I'm thrilled! She's carrying on the great tradition of singers, Holliday, Vaughn, Fitzgerald, Garland... Sings with such intelligence and expressiveness and she's still so young. Wow!
Sarah Lois Vaughan, please spell her correctly!
This lady is a class act and is taking the jazz standards to a new generation.
Love , love, love her 👏
I love her and if this was back in the day, I believe all the legendary jazz singers would of so sung with her at some point. just so talented
i can t get enough of her, and what a back up
Once in a 100 years do you find a voice like this.
She's wonderful! That end!!! Love it!!!
Simply MARVELLOUS. Divine Ms McLorin Salvant.
Just amazing, like a time machine to the golden era of beautiful voices and tunes. Just thank you.
Wow. her voice resonates with the reawakeness of the soul never heard before. Scott Moshatama. Tembisa.S.A.
When you go to the vids of the greats people are always complaining about the music of today. Where are the singers they ask? Well, Cecile is the real thing and it's just a shame there aren't more views. It's the fault of corporate radio - how are people to know if they are not exposed?
I agree. Radio stations tend to play the same songs over & over again instead of letting us hear someone new. I'm just now discovering Cecile myself. I'm in love with her voice. 😍😍😍
I love her voice!
this is the greatest
All of you Americans and, after all, the French, are you aware of this wonderful artist?
If beauty had a sound, she would sound like this. Bravo swingyoucats.

magnifique!
That's the voice.
Cecile, I don't know an other vocalist, who presents the classic Jazz more authentic like you. Maybe you are a reincarnation of your grand grandma !?
Who's the grandma?
@@josephdia9311 I suppose he mean that Cecile is from another age in the past.
Pura pasión.
Who's the trombone man? Like his sound and vintage look.
Good singer with a tight little group.
Well worth a listen.
she reminds me of Carmen McRae because of her conversational interpretation, anyone else thinks so?
Yes Sally, totally agree, musical poetry, thank you Cecile for keeping the torch burning bright. Sheila Spain

Le Marathon CMLS !
Bravo Cécile ta voix hérisse le poil et fait battre les cils!
invisible guitar player-cool
Damn that is smooth, Holiday meets Vaughan right here. Her voice reminds me of another modern jazz-influenced artist, Chrisette Michele. If only she didn't waste her voice on mindless pop-r&b music and instead pursued a path similar to Cecile. Truly a waste of talent.
