Must be hard for the people.left behind. The empty houses will ruin the occupied houses. You basically have to maintain 3 houses for yours in the middle to be damp free.
This is my local area the people are not happy these houses are being demolished. i cant work out why the authorities havnt built a flood wall behind these streets surely its more economical than to tear these houses down. i feel they have plans for the land probably will be sold to a private housing developer.
i remember taff street,my grandad had lived there since about 1900,and i went to stay there in the early 50s,at the back of the house was a river,which my grandad lifted me up to see the said river ,think it was the taff river,when i see you guys looking round the propertys ,brings back so many memories

If I lived in Wales 'I have considered it as the country is one of (if not the best) most beautiful landscapes UK has to offer' and had you as a neighbor I'd be more than happy, feeling totally comfortable. I know the streets verry well a friend of mine from university his family lived thier close to when they was built as his grandad worked in the mines close by as did his dad they left when the council started compulsory buying it was all due to the rive close by flooding the streets and houses that caused them to be pushed out the homes even though a lot of money was invested in to the river to make it deeper and reinforce the rive Bank such a sad time whefh helping them move out and helping some of the neighbours move thier stuff rember an old couple who lived four doors up who lived in the street since they was born both born thier and both fell in love and got married in the church near by its not just bricks and morter it's a home full of love joy happy memories when she showed us her photos of the street when she was younger pictures of party's and all sorts going on lines of people out on thier doorsteps such an amazing little place to of lived once but any way Tom and his family moved out and are now having to rent a council house due to the lack of money offered to them as its not the house that's worth anything it's the land it's sat on hope this information helps you if you want any more let me know I'm willing to give as much as I can to help

My brother got a welsh girl pregnant at freshers at Cardiff uni, 5 years later he’s stuck in the valleys if he wants to see his kid. Moral of the story is ‘wrap it up because pullout game is weak’

The first Street I lived in back in the 70s, the houses opposite were cellar houses and were affected by rising damp, rats and general damage so they were demolished in 1979

My Father has 69 kids in South Swansea. According to him, the woman were either giving it away, or opening their legs for a pack of nappies. Never worked a day in his life. Like half of Wales.
I lived behind these houses the reason why they empty like is cos council ran out funing to rmodernise em so they moved the people out and they haven't done anything to em.but they are now selling them to developers
on the plus side you wont get neighbours from hell living next door, park anywhere, and bin collection is a doddle lol If there is asbestos in the houses then they could well be left like that empty for years as they have to have specialist to remove it safely, are you sure about the asbestos though? That row of houses do nt look that old, maybe 50 years but under 100 years old, i got a strong feeling the only asbestos you would find is on a lean 2 or a shed and that would be the roof and they are safe as long as they havent got damaged.
