I live in the USA and we have the same problem with our government spending needless money on needless things and giving us the big one finger salute. Love your videos and your absolute realness.
Just wanted to say I live in Rhyl and I have done my whole life and most of what you said is true, the council round here is shocking they only want their money from the job they aren’t bothered about fixing things. As for crime rate a lot of people seem to think tourists are at danger but you aren’t, think of it this way if you visited a volcanic island for 1 day you’ll probably be fine but if you lived there your whole life it’s way more likely you’ll be hit by a lava stream if you get what I’m saying, I was jumped literally a month ago walking back with my family from a birthday party, I didn’t know the guys they seen me drunk stumbling home and falling over so they took the mick out of me and my girlfriend said something to them to leave me alone so they attacked her I jumped in and they pulled weapons and whacked me in the head, I’m fine now tho but the crime that happens here happens way more to the locals so take that as you will. And one final thing is that we are full of drunks and drugs from county line’s dealing and it’s a known fact that sex offenders/nonces from England and south wales get sent here for some reason (probably to hide or protect them) I will never understand it disgusts me knowing that they do tho Anyways good video I just thought I would give people an actual resident’s opinion
Thank you for sharing. I love Wales and sad to see this area being mismanaged. What is the main source of income there? Looks like tourism is not really a big draw. Crime etc seems to happen where there isn’t much to do. It’s a beautiful sea side area I hope it will seen have a resurgence of tourism and the economy will rebound.
@ that’s the thing from what I have heard (I’m in my 20’s) tourism was great for a while and definitely the main source of income around here then it became really easy and fairly cheap to travel the world so small towns like Rhyl couldn’t compete with that meaning less people were coming so less money, Less money means less being put back into the community and that means less opportunity for us locals, you see this in plenty of places like Rhyl around the uk and I think the mismanagement goes way beyond a small town in north wales. But I’m not qualified in anything to be fair so what would I know lol I do think having a positive look on things is needed for a lot of us tho because being negative about the negative will get us no where, but it is important to talk about the negatives not ignore them
Excellent video on Rhyl. You should send copies of this video to Wales TV , BBC & Rhyl Town Council & disgrace them into smarten up their town especially the cemetery. That is an absolute disgrace considering their are WW1 heroes I there. Well done Adam Mark. Keep up the good work.
Wow!! Fun to see you and Matt do something different, Adam!! I’m in the US so for me it is really interesting to see towns in other countries. I thought it was curious that the crime rate was reported as so high yet you were able to walk all over during the day and night with no problem. We have very similar issues in many towns and cities here is the US- housing shortages, abandoned businesses, high crime rates, widespread drug use problems, etc. As long as greed runs the shows these days, problems will get worse, more widespread decay will continue and desperation will get worse. I enjoyed watching this, thank you!!
I just took a quick look and there's 22 members of Rhyl's council, they have a field of poppies on their twitX page and under which the comment "we will remember them" How 22 people are calling the shots for the 30K living there is beyond me - everyone mobile needs to head on to a meeting and set those tyrants straight! DYNAMITE video Adam!
Hello Adam, I enjoy all of your videos. Doesn’t matter where they are. I am not wealthy enough to travel, or young enough. So I get to see these awesome places through you. Thank you. Stay safe, and continue on young man 😁
An amazing presentation Adam. Thank you for sharing the stark reality endured by many working-class, small communities across the globe. The people of those communities deserve better, as you so aptly pointed out. Rhyl itself, appears to be an absolutely beautiful little seaside community. Corruption in governments needs to be eradicated. Keep up the wonderful work. (Love from Australia)
Absolutely agree Adam, Once they shut the big fair on the promenade, replacing it with Aldi, the town died. I was brought up in Llandudno and used to love to get on a bus to the fair in Rhyl. That was the year Rhyl died. And I was shocked to find they spent 17 million on a bridge to nowhere. They need to wake up and spend money where it's needed. Thankyou for sharing, always watch your channel ❤
To be fair, the fair was a ghost town at the end with ride owners and stall holders actually begging you to go in, Rhyl was already in a big decline if nobody went to the fair.. I LOVE RHYL, as a family we came here EVERY year as kids and never wanted to go anywhere else, it was magical.. I brought my kids here on holiday too but it wasn’t a patch on old Rhyl but they still enjoyed it, my parents retired here and were very happy but came back to Brum when Dads health declined to be near family, it broke his heart.. Rhyl means so much to so many but it’s all just memories now.. I came up in the summer, for old times sake, and to see the two fotos my Dad has on the tiled wall (the damaged one is me as a kid) there is NOTHING here. I got a Maccies which the seagulls stole so had lunch in the carvery on the front then went home after spending a couple of pounds in a very empty arcade. The councils over the years have consistently let the town and its people down and it’s criminal x I had three friends with holiday caravans here to rent out, now two have gone to Skeggy and one to Brean which are both thriving. Rhyl COULD be magnificent again.. but I doubt it ever will be and that truly breaks my heart.
This cemetery has made me so sad!😢 I would definitely help clean up the graves. These were people who lived there at some time or another. They don't deserve to be disrespected like this. 💔
I enjoyed this Mark, would be good to show other places like how Southport beach doesn't exist anymore when it used to be THE place to go for families in Liverpool
So many towns are coming to this in Wales, my hometown in the valleys is all boarded up, it’s heartbreaking and infuriating to see. I spent a few years documenting it through photography. Thank you for producing content like this, such a valuable document of the socioeconomic devastation that seems rife amongst so many towns.
My Missus used to holiday there as a kid and this vlog has shocked her, everything she remembers having fun on has gone- different vid from you and interesting- more please!
Don’t know if I would say I “enjoyed it “ but it serves a purpose. I never thought I would say that I miss jam packed malls and shops, but they got you out in the community. People spend too much time in a solitary environment, playing video games, buying online and chatting with friends on the phone. It’s very sad…
I'm 32 and even since I was a kid in the 90's it's shocking. Things like that were taken for granted it's one thing I dislike the internet age for. Bring back dial up.
I love these types of videos, Adam. Dystopia is coming everywhere, we can learn alot from these adventures. Please keep them coming. Thank you and Matt ❤ Love from Boston USA 🇺🇸
I agree Michael. He has me laughing as well. At 3:30 mark I thought he said ' I've been warned bumbaclot' lmao..then rewound to make sure it's what he said. What he actually said was 'I've been warned, bumper cars there' His accent is a tricky thing sometimes. lol
Hi Adam nice to see you again and happy to see Matt with you.this video is a nice change very interesting. Sad to see a cemetery so over grown with grass and weeds so disrespectful. Hope you and Matt are having a good time together. Love the abandoned places.thank you Adam for showing me all these places. Love you ,Kathy from Tennessee in the Usa 🇺🇸 take care guys.
Good one Adam n matt it's a shame really but all the sea side resorts seem to be goin down for som reason take care bet it's cold there enjoyed it xx ❤❤
11:15 pm USA. I really enjoyed this explore! You and Matt are my favorite explorers. Do more videos like this one. If love to see where you live and what it's really like.
Just watched ur programme on rhyl every word u said is correct towm council should be ashamed of the money they are spending.. Keep them haunting videos rolling I love them keep safe and have a good Xmas and ur team xx
I think that this is a great new direction--not just exploring, but revealing the corruption that leads to abandoned places and towns in the first place. Or the incompetence, or the greed--because every abandoned place has a story, and some of those stories really need to be told. Maybe with more videos like this one, you might raise awareness enough to reduce the number of dead downtowns and economic wastelands. Really well done. Thank you.
Exactly, i used to go there back in the late 90's as a kid. i literally dont recognise it now. if they had put money into the old funfair and not knocked it down and put 'the range' there and yet another coffee shop, the highstreet would not be struggling, tourism would flourish (everyone loves a funfair) and not build that pointless bridge, Rhyl would have been an excellent place to still visit.
The one and only time i was in Rhyl was on a family holiday in the early 1960`s and we all loved it. I was about 11 years old ( now in my 70`s ) and although i can`t remember much about it what i do reminded me on summers spent down in Southend-on-Sea from where my Mothers family were from. Looking at Rhyl as well as Southend-on-Sea makes me feel very sad.
Adam you are not unloved we love yer and we love Matt too. You guys are awesome together and you always make us all laugh as you are the best explorer. It does break your heart to see Rhyl so derelict and not many people around. I have never had the pleasure of visiting Wales but it is most of the seaside areas in England that are now getting to be like Rhyl and not many people going soon they will all be shut down. Blackpool and Scarborough are still ok though ... . The council needs their arses kicking for leaving that graveyard/cemetery like t is as its disgusting.
Fantastic to see Rhyl again after so many years. I had no idea it was like this now ! Shame on the council 😔😔 Would love to see if Frith beach is the same and other North Wales coastal towns are similar now. We came from Liverpool for family days out etc. Thanks Mark and Matt 😀😀
Hi Adam, loved this video with you and Matt. I would love to see more explores like this. I am watching from Australia, it’s interesting seeing different parts of the UK from a different perspective. We usually only get to see the popular tourist stuff.
Really enjoyed this Mr Mark. Same issues where I live, mismanagement of funds and a ghost town city centre sadly. Such a shame as Rhyl is a very pretty place and should be thriving 😕🙏🏻
Great episode Mark. Sad to see how it deteriorated over the years. The councillors who wasted all that money on a pointless bridge need to give their heads a wobble.
That was so different! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to see more of this type of explore! I like the look of Rhyl or rather I like what it could be again… if there aren’t any more £17m bridges to waste money on. I think Jaywick is the most deprived town but maybe too faraway for you. Take care❤😊
Thanks Adam I found this video very interesting. I love all your haunted and abandoned houses videos too and I think showing us abandoned towns, villages and cities is very good too💜
Sad to see but there are so many like this with the economy and mismanagement of money and corrupt politics...even here in the USA. Great segment guys ..does give u insight into towns past and present...well done ❤ much love from Kentucky USA 🇺🇸 ❤️
Rhyl holds so very many precious memories for so many people. It’s so sad future generations won’t be able to make those memories here. It really is a ghost town. Heartbreaking 💔 x
So sad, I used to live at Rhyl, well at an army camp situated at Bodelweddan where my Dad was posted to. Rhyl used to be a busy, bustling place, full of kiss me quick hats and a lovely fairground. With wonderful golden sands on the beaches. My how times have changed and not for the better. You've broken my heart!
The last show I played as a bass player in a band back in 2006 was in Rhyl. I found the town depressing and it seemed to serve as a relief to the events that unfolded-The friendly nod of acknowledgement earlier in the day from one Motorhead shirt clad fan to our similarly dressed singer did nothing to improve the proceedings. The venue took ages turning off the background music as we began our set; the merchandise stall was left to die on the vine by the meagre audience, and the singer didn't endear himself to the venue's management by using the C word repeatedly. On the drive on the way back, the singer seemed depressed, even suicidal, this was backed up by a comment from the guitarist (now a pilot in the middle east) The predictable email was received by all of us a few days later, informing us the band had been dissolved.
We as a low income working class family of 6 would visit Rhyl every year for 1 weeks holiday and we absolutely loved it. We did go for 2 weeks one year . My aunts uncles and cousins used to come such great memories. I’m 63 now and it’s such a shame to see it like that.
So sorry that I’ve not been able to watch you lately Adam! Working way too much and getting ready for Christmas! So glad I had some time to reconnect with your channel! Much hugs!❤ the sky is so blue for such a gross place!! So sad!
You should see the roundabout that cost £8 million to look worse than it did before not to mention the £4 million on new signs. Mismanaged is an understatement.
Loved this video Mark. Others do the ‘what’s Rhyl like’ videos , but you e done it completely different, seeing Rhyl in a history context. Brilliant, please do other places!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Aww bless, can't believe that High Street is so quiet at 4 ish on a Friday, wow, amazing. You should come see Exeter High Street, its FAB, full of energy and vitality, lots of shops, restaurants and plenty of young people and older ones too, milling about, I am so pleased I left Wales !! (I do miss living in the mountains though, the rugged quietness and the sheep, don't forget all the rain) Nice to see Matt xx
Good for you-i agree with everything you said! What the council have done-& haven't done is ridiculous, & they do NOT deserve to be in their positions. Fab video Adam, & yes, I would enjoy more of the same. To be honest tho, you've just got a great personality, you are very enjoyable to watch, & I'd happily watch you read a dictionary! 🤣 and I'm sure I'm not the only 1. Take care, Anji.
I'm a new subscriber today, just watched your wander around Rhyl, great video guys, i'll be going through your other content over the next few days / weeks. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. 👍🏻 Cheers.
I really enjoyed this rather cheerful episode. Thinking juice?! Really?😂 The splendor and misery of human greed and stupidity. More episodes like this, please. ;)❤
I enjoy all of your videos Adam , I don’t get to travel so, this is as good as it gets for me😁. Thanks for taking us along on your travels, haunted or not.
Did Dorothy have a relative involved in bridge construction? 17million for a foot bridge, huh? Good for you to for drawing attention to this type of thing. I admire your conviction! Whatever you investigate I will watch. I really enjoy your work.
Government keep banging on about living longer, why, they make the elderly peoples lives a misery. I hate my country its a cess pit now for most iindigenous people.
Absolutely loved this video!! Certainly would love to see more, highlight the issue of alot of towns within the UK. Its heartbreaking to see how the council really just does not care to keep such lovely locations in their former glory! Blackpool is definiately one of those, completely changed over the years!
Loved the video That bridge is kind of pretty but hardy a destination draw, there’s no point to it. What a phenomenally stupid waste of money when that sad, ratty looking town clearly needed real help, not a useless bridge to nowhere.
What about the new multi million pound market hall, just sitting empty! You missed that one guys - Denbighshire Council you should be ashamed of yourselves - well done guys
I'm in the States and we see a lot of the same thing. Once thriving towns now derelict because of mismanagement. Oh, and if you're an established resident don't try to fix anything on your own or you'll be liable to face penalties. Sad.
Brilliant, Adam. I really enjoyed this new type of explore and would love to see more. As for the council, I'd be willing to bet at least one of them got a kickback on that bridge. What a ridiculous waste of money.
I went on a day trip to Rhyl when I was a nipper and remember it being nice but then that was nearly 40 years ago and it has massively gone downhill since then. It is really sad to see. I enjoyed the change of episode type, it is good to have more variety. Don’t stop the abandoned houses or the paranormal though 😊
Really enjoyed this you should do more found it very interesting. It's very sad to see the decline of a town but it's happening everywhere. Hope you do more. ❤
This was eye-opening, I really hope the beautiful seaside town of Rhyl's council gets their act together and stop wasting funds on frivolous useless things like that. I love this type of content that you are clearly passionate about, Well done!! Nice seeing Matt out with you 😊
Let me know if you enjoy this type of episode by hitting the thumbs up and if you’d like me to visit an area let me know in the comments guys
This is amazing, Adam! I love seeing obscure places like this. I can't afford to travel all these places, but this is the next best thing. ❤

So good
It's unbelievable to build a passenger bridge that leads nowhere.More please .Thankyou.
It's like Route 66 when eminent domain kills whole towns, this looks like the TX panhandle.
We have the same problems in the US. Give money away to people that don't want to work. Hard working people get nothing. Love your videos buddy.
The best of it is , is that these people working for the council are in same boat as me and you
That's one thing here in new Zealand our council take good care of our cemeterysEven our private owned ones are well maintained ❤ 20:51
Really enjoy this type of content Adam,

man how depressing to see Rhyl like this, i used to go here for hols in the 80's, place was buzzing and booming
Same ❤
What an interesting explore. It's nice to see what Rhyl looks like. I would like to see more of this. Thanks 😊 ❤❤
The graveyard is a disgrace, shame on the authorities.
I enjoy anything and everything you do! I've watched for a long time and haven't ever been disappointed!❤❤❤ ❤❤❤
This neglect seems to be happening all across the country.
On the drive on the way back, the singer seemed depressed, even suicidal, this was backed up by a comment from the guitarist (now a pilot in the middle east)
The predictable email was received by all of us a few days later, informing us the band had been dissolved.
The awesome seaside is just beautiful and the fish and chips remind me of the Brighton pier thanks for a cool tour❤
Glad you enjoyed it
sadly it is like this nationwide with seaside towns and town centers bygone era now.
Cheers.
Footnote: The children's village looks like the abandoned kids' park in Chernobyl.
I really enjoy seeing a real view of places! You show how these areas really are! I live in the US and have never been overseas! Thank you Adam!
Interesting video but sadly the same in our small seaside town
Awesome video & explore mate! I love your abandoned home’s video! Stay safe out there! 👍👍❤️✊🤘
I live in Rhyl. It is exactly as you say it is. I remember as a kid it was always packed not now though
Day out from Brum. Its definitely changed.
great explore Adam and Matt looking forward to seeing where u go next ❤❤❤
I really enjoyed this rather cheerful episode. Thinking juice?! Really?😂
The splendor and misery of human greed and stupidity. More episodes like this, please. ;)❤
Very well presented, enjoyed seeing the town and learning about its history! I would like to see more videos like this, TY!🎉
It is so sad to see places of human activity in such a state. And politicians are telling us that there is shortage of housing. I rest my case….
I really enjoyed this explore Adam. It was different and very interesting! loved it!❤
Mark go back in the summer would like to see how it is then
This was a very interesting video. Would love to see more of these.
Come and do Portishead?
This was very interesting!!! We have ALOT of wasted taxpayer money here in Nee York also!!!!
So sad to see places that have just gone to ruin! Once so full of life and now nothing! Thanks Adam and Matt!❤
Government keep banging on about living longer, why, they make the elderly peoples lives a misery. I hate my country its a cess pit now for most iindigenous people.
Pay taxes for longer that’s all they care about
Absolutely loved this video!! Certainly would love to see more, highlight the issue of alot of towns within the UK. Its heartbreaking to see how the council really just does not care to keep such lovely locations in their former glory! Blackpool is definiately one of those, completely changed over the years!
Same thing happening in the United States…..just a shame! We are in the internet era…..nothing like how we were raised!
The amount of council waste on frivolous things is astonishing.
Well done on your new exploring adventure. Good to see diverse content.
Loved the video
That bridge is kind of pretty but hardy a destination draw, there’s no point to it. What a phenomenally stupid waste of money when that sad, ratty looking town clearly needed real help, not a useless bridge to nowhere.
Loved this! I hope our seaside towns like Rhyl will have their day again. So much potential.
What about the new multi million pound market hall, just sitting empty! You missed that one guys - Denbighshire Council you should be ashamed of yourselves - well done guys
I did have a Quick Look but it’s another empty building wasted
I'm in the States and we see a lot of the same thing. Once thriving towns now derelict because of mismanagement. Oh, and if you're an established resident don't try to fix anything on your own or you'll be liable to face penalties. Sad.
Good evening Sir Adam 💙😘 Hi Matt 💙😘
Very sad seeing graveyards being forgotten 😢 I definitely want cremated xxxx
Disgrace they not looking after soldiers graves xxxx
Enjoyed it Adam thank you xxxxx have a good week xxxx
Really enjoyed this Adam, great to see Matt also more please XXX❤❤❤XXX
More to come!
They are supposed to look after the war graves
Brilliant, Adam. I really enjoyed this new type of explore and would love to see more. As for the council, I'd be willing to bet at least one of them got a kickback on that bridge. What a ridiculous waste of money.
Dr. Campbell Just Announced The UK Votes For Assisted Dying, Such A Disgrace!
Very good Adam I realy enjoy ur vids.Keep up the good work!
I was the first to like😊
Legend
Lol
I went on a day trip to Rhyl when I was a nipper and remember it being nice but then that was nearly 40 years ago and it has massively gone downhill since then. It is really sad to see. I enjoyed the change of episode type, it is good to have more variety. Don’t stop the abandoned houses or the paranormal though 😊
Really enjoyed this you should do more found it very interesting. It's very sad to see the decline of a town but it's happening everywhere. Hope you do more. ❤
Thank you I’ll definitely do more
This was eye-opening, I really hope the beautiful seaside town of Rhyl's council gets their act together and stop wasting funds on frivolous useless things like that. I love this type of content that you are clearly passionate about, Well done!! Nice seeing Matt out with you 😊
