Brilliant! Thanks for uploading! I have passed this on to my stepdaughter who lives in Stanleytown-which looks a little different today, now that all the mining has gone and places have greened over. I live in Scotland now, but was 40 years in South Wales, some of which time was spent in the Valleys in Pontypridd and Pontrhydyfen.
My Grandfather Douglas Miller was from Tylors Town. He moved to Staffordshire in the 1950s to work in the coal mines. He brought his wife Hanna (ne Burke) and his son's Raymond, Alan, David and Douglas jnr. Alan was my father, he was accidentally killed in 1966. He was only 29 and I was only 5 years old 😢 perhaps someone from the Rhondda remembers them. x ❤
My mum was from Cwmaman, she moved to Shrewsbury shortly after marrying my dad,he was from Shrewsbury..we went back every summer holidays to stay with my grandparents.. Last time we were there was to scatter mum and dads ashes in the stream by The Shepards Arms pub eight years ago.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
I've lived in Ebbw Vale since 1994, but I spent the first 45 years of my life in Tylorstown in the Rhondda. I can tell you that the Rhondda, and especially Tylorstown, is indelibly etched in my heart and will be until I die. I love the place and go back there at every opportunity.
I was on a mountain pass, stumbled across the remote St Gwynno church then continued down to Ferndale when I was compelled to pause, struck by the staggering beauty of Tylorstown below.
Judges Hall Tonypandy, not seen that place since summer 1970, Since seeing a little known group called Black Sabbath, yes, they were very fine, (and I do remember the stars on the ceiling too), This vid is very fine too.
You would be shocked at the difference especially Cardiff. Lots of good things going on in the Rhondda including electrifying the railway. Good place to invest in imo
@@TREdwards-zc8fw TWW was by far the best television channel we ever had in Wales. The programmes were far better than the rubbish that appears on our screens today.

Donald Houston's commentary is poetic. Superb, dare I say, 'awesome' in the real sense of the word.
The Rhondda should have been so wealthy and its people
I loved the line „you can eat as well now in Porth, as you can in Paris!“
Proud of our amazing actors with such dulcet tones and successful boxers and of course our beautiful singers both men and women 🏴💙💎

Thank you for this gem. I should have but have no recollection of seeing it before. From a 'boy' born, bred & still living there.
Was on ITV (TWW) in the mid 60's. Seem to remember one scene with me walking down the hill at Porth County?
21:48 I was listening and not watching and for a moment i really thought that was Richard Burton speaking!
This compilation by TWW is a gem.
WOW! I thought TWW programmes were lost to time.
Good job on finding this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
