      suzannesart . i think any kind of weed control spray works. but its a direct consumption crop so ask your pesticides supplier first.

      They apply a desiccant or herbicide. It's not to just to dry them out. It also kills small weeds in between plants making it easier for the harvesters to work.
      Glyphosate has sadly been marketed by Monsanto as being "safe" so farmers have been using it since the early 1970s. There are, however, other methods farmers can and have used. None of which are as effective as using glyphosate, sadly. Making it stressful for the farmers. They have marks they need to meet in a field of ever growing corporate over reach.

      @@squizzyicetea time and time again studies across the board have shown glyphosate to be remarkably effective and without any danger to human health. It is one of the most important developments for agriculture in decades and has brought untold people out of starvation by helping increase yields, driving down the price of the product and making it affordable to those deep in poverty.

      Could be a number of things if he's an organic grower. Typical commercial farmers use glyphosate sadly
