    Thanks this was very helpful so the total period from plant to harvesting would be about a month or two right ?

    • @ERICKKUMARI
      @ERICKKUMARI  5 месяцев назад

      Most varieties take about 4 months to reach maturity for harvest. After harvesting, an additional 3 to 4 weeks is needed for drying and processing. In total, the entire process takes approximately 5 months.

    erick u did wrong by using plough instead should have hired labor and cut the pigeon pea plant and sold to charcoal makers or make biochar out of it since than its easy operate the plough than apply disc harrow in horizontal direction than vertical direction to make the soil fine along with cutting all the weeds/plant vegetation into smaller part to decompose and when it rains than just using dredger/trencher implant make lines for sowing sesame after mixing with sand in 1:5 to 1:10 ratio per seed size in the troghs/valleys of the lines made so tht whenever it rains the water get collected and help plant get irrigate for longer time.

    From your research the rainfall pattern was like 3rd March and 6th march what about rainfall in April and May how many time was it ? The
    cash crop does not need much rain . Due the change in rainfall pattern in Northern Ghana this could be a new cash crop for commercial production.

    • @ERICKKUMARI
      @ERICKKUMARI  Год назад

      We experienced a poor germination because of erratic rainy, about April it start pouring from 11th April non stop up to 1st May then stopped until the splash rain of 10th May, 15th May, 23rd May, 30th May and 31st May.

    • @ERICKKUMARI

      I recommend to watch my other videos about Sesame processing you will see the type of mesh used, you can approximate the pore size number! Don't worry much about refining Sesame seeds, there's many companies buy to refine to international standards.
