Why do people still play on Warmane after all these years?

- Yeah, that's the big question: why do people still play on the Warmane server, for years and years? Warmane is almost 15(fiftin) years old, and you still see the same people from time to time.
Warmane's main expansion is Wrath of the Lich King, featuring two primary realms: Icecrown and Lordaeron. More casual players tend to play on Icecrown, while those who love challenges prefer Lordaeron. The difference between these realms lies in the rate multipliers (multiplajers); Icecrown offers faster progression, whereas (veraz) Lordaeron provides a more authentic and unaltered (an alted) experience of WotLK. Thus (dus), players seeking a pure and challenging experience gravitate towards (tuwords) Lordaeron, while those looking to progress quickly choose Icecrown. So, right from the start, you see that Warmane gives you a choice.

Not needing a subscribtion is the main reason I chose private servers over official. I mean, I won't be playing the game every day of the month, and I often take long breaks, so paying a full month's worth fee for just a few days of playing once in a while just isn't a good deal.
And besides that, Warmane is probably the safest bet when it comes to private servers. It's the longest running server out there, it's been around for like 15 years now (used to be called Molten WoW at some point), it's the most popular, and it doesn't seem that it can be shut down.
This comment! I used to play classic and then tbc but as you pointed, not enough time to progress and keep up with the meta. I found out about warmane very recently and im grinding my level in Lorderon, so far is very joyful for me
There is live administration that does something with their game, not like blizcuck ...

In my opinion, Warmane will be around even when World of Warcraft officially dies. I can guarantee that. This goes for the rest of the World of Warcraft private community as well.

Why warmane has so much players is because warmane will never get shut down,its based on the best expansion,its free and it doesn't take alot of time to play
i love lordaeron and warmane so much. even thought it has issues like multiboxers and crossrealm BGs and arenas with the p2w realm, it still has tons of upsides.

I really only just found out about Warmane. I absolutely hate Blizzard for being a bunch of moneygrabbers, charging you for the expansions and per month to play on a dead game. WotLK was by far my favorite expansion and has the nostalgia feel for me. I couldn't believe this server was so crowded and active AND FREE.
1- Warmane still on WOTLK and for those who only do PVP is the best server for that.
2- Is free, no need of a subscription to play on it.
3- Gm's do their job.
4- It's Wotlk, the expansion that everyone loves and most balanced on PVP.

If you are reading this and wanting to play progressive server, you can join on its Onyxia server. Its last phase of classic, and we are in waiting room for Tbc release. He didn't mention this server in his video.

Great video! Warmane indeed has its niche with forver-wotlk realms. The forever progression is one the reasons people love playing mmorpgs. I am playing official Cata, but I still do feel like logging in Warmane every day for a few daily things, because I know eventually I will have a period when I will be "mainining" warmane and keeping up with dailies will pay off

Well, except for the Warmane server, that's usually what happens when you play World of Warcraft-it just always keeps you coming back.
I play on Stormforge a lot but they've admitted they have no intention of keep their servers alive for more than 9 months. They capped at 2.5k on their latest MoP server. Now I'm on the Onyxia server because it promises progression. Plus, if you play with WoD Models, it looks amazing.

Wait really? I just started playing on Stormforge because Warmane’s MoP server is kinda dead but I don’t feel like getting invested if that’s the case 🙃
The thing about Loarderon is that if you became a LoD player there, the game set your bar to a level that you dont want to play anywhere else.
I still play here, warmane was my first ever private server and I loved everything about it. Everything is for free! One of the best experience I had was when I ask for help/aid there will always be a lot of player willing to help, a lot of guilds waiting for you to join them. Such an amazing community
how do you deal with the bots and mboxxers?
Warmane bans bots every day. I've seen it get displayed in chat in Red text. Wish blizzard would do this.
Also warmane is unapologetic pay2win. Retail is too but disguises it. Blizzard makes alot of money from bots so they don't ban them regularly.

A problem I've noticed with the main servers is that the content is gatekept. If you're a fresh 70, you likely won't be able to raid since no one does the lower tier content and there are gearscore/achievement requirements for every pug. You could try their Onyxia server however. Its progressive from vanilla through wotlk (currently at end of vanilla).
Played Warmane 15 years ago, about to come back and playing classic 5 years and now wanting my old social experience to come back, City raids I am expecting you!
I noticed that a lot of the toxicity seemed to have vanish in this past year or so, I almost never see people complaining in battleground chat anymore when we are losing and I think that might be because the really hardcore crowd migrated to Wotlk Classic when it was released. I don't know if I'm the only one that feels this way but I have genuinely been enjoying the community around the server a lot more than I used to as of late. That being said, lvl 80s camping lowbies is still there.

Mainly becuz its better, no bots, less custom stuff, citys are full as fuck, very active and lasts way longer than classic 😂

@@therider990 multiboxers are no bots. they follow 1 player and are played by him. they also exist in classic but its better to just use bots and scripts there.
If warmane had a Legion server i would definetly be into it. I play there but as far was wolk private server i miss Gamer district wich hás shut down 😢

Warmane is by far the best and most populated wotlk server, but the toxicity is on another level.
This is what turns me away from it!

Played Shitstorm, I mean Firestorm from 2016 until 2021. What I hate there is that older expansions were never fully scripted, bugfest. New expansion? Lets abandon the previous expansion realm. I want to rotate between expansions. This week I play MoP, next week Vanilla etc. Private server realm longevity is the best deal for me.

Well, to be honest, for old players, WOTLK can be a little boring because they played it too much, but after all these years, it is still absolutely playable. Yeah, I totally agree, retail is beautiful, but come on, there is indeed too much stuff to do...
Retail I dont think is so good a lot of things needs to be fixed... Like how you take your item gears ...they need to stop lvl item and start drop item
people always like to hate on warmane, all the private servers like to hate on warmane. idk. it has always been the best wotlk experience for me and the best PVP experience for me, in lordaeron.
i like the custom content and community more over turtle wow but if i want to experience wotlk(classes, new maps, content) and pvp, i definitely always go back to lordaeron

Well, if you play as a healer or tank, you get an instant invite, for sure.
@@OutlanderwowNot at all. While leveling as a healer it can take an hour to find a group. At level 80 it’s a bit faster but still not ‘instant’.

Icecrown is literally majority 30 year old jobless people who spend 16 hours a day on the game. This statement is very false. The majority of the guilds in this server live on the game and don’t do anything other than play.
I always wondered how do people who are 30+ and still jobless actually manage to survive like that, and on top of all that they have stuff like gaming PC and money for snacks and junk food.. People used to laugh at them, but now with everything is turning out in the world their life sounds like a dream free of stress.. I work like 192h a month and still dont have money to buy a gaming PC.. How??

I spent alot of time in warmane and nowadays I can't even find a group that's doing ToC just people doing icc which I don't wanna invest all my time in icc only, if u also like mboxxing sure go for warmane but I'm moving on to whitemanes frostmorne since they will ban the mboxxers and not ruin the integrity of the game
I agree that Warmane has some problems with lower-level content, but until recently I played on Warmane and managed to find groups for lower-level content, although it was a bit harder. Many players are focused on ICC. If people eventually realize that a server like Whitename is a better choice and Warmane starts to lose population, something might be done. Until then, I believe nothing will happen.
Bullsh***. There's loads of group daily for Toc. Even Ulduar and occasional Naxx
Best to look for those kinds of groups after weekly reset
The server has many issues & I don't think the managers of warmane care about the server if it dies, they have the Eastern European mindset, "we made our millions, fuck the customers now", they are not interested in optimizing the project like a western company.
Make your own 10 man groups, they’re easy to make.

Warmane is repetitive brain rot and not how warcraft should be experienced, and the community is toxic. Retail (TWW) has a much more advanced collection/reward system then wotlk.
I quit Retail 4 weeks ago because the game has too many bugs. I'd rather play on a private servers that's free than pay blizzard money and not fix bugs.
