Protip: one way of avoiding gold beggars is by inspecting their Achievements/Statistics under Character tab you can see things like total gold acquired and most gold ever owned. If you see a high number chances are they won't actually use it and are just begging to make some fast gold

or when you are questing and some alliance BiS rouge stun locks you to gank you and just before they get the final blow in, a horde mate swoops in and face plants them. the Argent Crusade node right under dalaran is pure hell sometimes. also the TBC gate. though i did run through with my paladin. at least 20 alliance trying to kill my paladin before he made it through.... they failed and still had 6k hp left... didn't even have to pop a cool down lol. anyway got way off topic..
I've been playing on warmane for a few months now and there are a lot of nice players on there despite what people say. The first char I leveled I had a guy give me 500g and nether weave bags for no reason when I was only like level 16. Another guy in a dungeon gave me two 264 peace's of gear just because I was new to level 80 and gearing up. Keep in mind I have never asked or begged for anything, these players did this out of kindness and that is only a few examples I had many more nice player interactions. I play on horde buy the way, Would defiantly recommend playing on this private server for the most part it has a really good community.
that's coz it's a private server and sometimes people just leave to join another different one and don't mind giving people their gold. I've seen people giving away a lot of gold in hide&seek games and stuff like that in stormwind when i was playing a private TBC server long time ago. A lot of people don't give a fuck and just quit, but if you're lucky enuf, the kind nature of many others bloom and present you whatever they own coz in the end, if they're leaving, that's going to the sewer. Atleast, when you're playing in an official blizzard server, whatever you own will be there 100% sure if you come back 2 years later.
i told a guy on blackrock i was new af to wow and jumped to pvp bc i was finding leveling boring and slow, he said i need to learn via normal wow first, came and met me on ice, gave me 250 gold, food bags, powerleveled me to 20 took me back to starting zone to get my first mount taught me about leveling guides and took me to the next area to quest in... not been involved long but from what i see great community
I have ran into quite a few kind people but I have also seen more toxic players in my first week of playing than I have 18 years of playing retail. It's not even close. To top it off the amount of spam and absolute degeneracy of name-calling and folks wanting to kick people from raids/dungeons for absolutely no reason. I'm not sure where everyone is from, seems the server is 90% international, but here in America, we're civilized and don't act that way despite what you see on the news (they just report every single bad thing, which is a drop in the bucket in comparison to the population).

My friend and I play on Icecrown and when we were lvl 20 I would mine while he would rotate from Goldshire to Gates of SW to SW center to IF to beg, i got about 50g he got 3k in under an hour. If you're really lucky you wouldn't even need to worry about money until the end game. I still haven't watched the video but I will share my guide to gold begging. 1) You need to have a leveling character and not some 10 level character, the more random level the better(as long as it's not too high), you need to make it seem like you are actually leveling 2) You ask ONLY on whisper 3) You prepare a macro, because you will have to type the same thing over and over 4) In the macro, you must ask for an exact number of gold, don't say "gold please" or "I need some gold", ask for gold but make it seem like you have a purpose, an example of that is: -"Could you give me 7 gold, please?" (by doing that you show that you "need" exactly 7 gold, so you trick them into thinking you actually need gold for something and if they ask you for what, you should either say for some profession and mats from AH to level it, then you link your profession, which should be leveled up to at least 50 and you get their gold, you can also say you have some grand pvp purpose and need the gold for items). If you ask for 10 gold, people are less likely to give you gold because it's not specific at this point because every beggar asks for 10 gold. 5) You can ask for specific items, the best items to ask for are bags, people usually give you 4 neatherweave bags out of generosity, occasionally frostweave bags 6) At level 58-65, you can ask for 43 gold and say that's all you have left in order to buy the flying skill and a mount, this here is a golden mine, people give you 50 gold for this like it's nothing, but it's most successful if you are in outland, instead of some major city 7) Another way, which is not as effective, is to actually give cheap usable items to random people or junk items with funny names, which can make them want to give you back 8) Please, remember their names and keep in mind that people can be in groups, so don't ask more than 1 person from the same group or you will get black listed and your character will be announced as a beggar 9) Be polite to those who give you and actually make it seem like you are very thankful and not doing it just for fun and to gather gold, sometimes they can give you even more gold after that 10) You can try your chances with asking for an absurd amount of gold for something, which is obviously not that expensive - alcohol 11) You can also ask for silver, instead of gold, 4 things can happen: - people tell you to F off - they give you exactly the silver you've asked for - they give you 69 silver or 69 copper - or they give you 1-1000 gold, depending on the person 12) Usually irl, if you ask a person for something hard to give or do and then they decline you, from then on they are more likely to accept and do the next easier thing you ask them for/to do, because they will feel bad if they decline you everything and the hard thing you asked for will make the easier thing seem even easier, but this doesn't work as good in wow because people aren't socially obliged to give you anything so they will most likely tell you to F off again or ignore you. 13) Lastly, which is important but overlooked. Do not rush into accepting the trade or do not always initiate the trade. What i mean by that is: When you ask for gold - "Could you give me 7 gold, please?" on whisper, wait a bit for an answer, if they say -"Yes, where are you/trade?" or they trade with you, it's good for you because you seem more genuine and they are more likely to give you gold because you do not rush them into giving you anything, so you seem less like a beggar. If they do not reply to you after 10-15 seconds, then you trade because the person is conflicted in his mind if he should give you or not and thinks that if he doesn't say anything, he will not have to give you anything but then you come and trade him. What choices does he have now? He either declines or accepts to give you gold. But he is now more likely to give you because you didn't rush him and made him figure it out in his head + you seem more genuine. I can't remember any more of the tactics I've used but if it's something important I might add it.
I have made like 2k gold in 30 minutes (oggrimar with a 23 level character) and I've been given 1000 gold on multiple occasions so I think I am legit. In total, without doing it for very long, I have probably made around 30k from begging. Total hours if I didn't mess around will probably be like 8-10 hours of my life for begging. If we count the messing around and chatting pointlessly while doing that is going to be more like 20 hours xD, because sometimes people are really chatty and needy and stick to you for 2 hours, which is not annoying unless they start whispering to you the next day to meet irl and talk on discord xD). Had i made it my purpose to actually make a lot of gold begging and not just ask for gold for fun, would have made A LOT more with these tactics. The problem I see a lot with other people is that they act too retarded and on top of that ask in say chat, so when someone gives them gold publicly, the others will know that he is begging without a purpose. Edit: This is the consistent way to make gold from begging and not the way to be randomly given 1000 gold but that comes easy if you grasp the consistent way

But damn, after watching I realized that I missed a very important part, no one who begs in a crowded place should ever interact with emotes or character movements, and when trading your character should not be turned towards the player, instead, it's better to trade by being in range but not looking at the player with the front of your character and most importantly jumping around them, which shows to others that you are waiting for a response from that person. Also, as I saw in this video too. If you have competition but he is asking on "Say chat", your chances of getting anything is reduced a lot because that guy is irritating the whole chat by spam begging for gold. I don't feel bad about doing this, so that's why when I am asked if I think I am a good person irl, I say "Probably not". I do not wish others bad things, do not manipulate for personal gains IRL, and do not talk bad about people but it's mostly because I know it's going to bring me only anxiety, depression, and misfortune + negative reactions from a lot of people. I always share my narcissistic thoughts with the people I interact with so that I am kinda saved if I occasionally do that to people but that has not happened yet, for me to do something bad to a person. Because I know what triggers people, I know to not do it :D. Also, I feel empathy but when I find logic behind it. Examples: For any animal, because they are not mindful of their actions and old people/uneducated people with very bad circumstances because they don't have the same access to information as the average person. I don't give af about people's misfortune if it's triggered by their dumb actions when they could've prevented it fairly easily.

I still remember a guy named Rubinsubin, I was asking him how to gear up, kinda became friends after a day or two. One day when I asked "What do I do now?" and then he traded me exactly 5000 gold to buy Quel'Delar. I was speechless. I still vividly remember that moment in Stormwind.
I started wow for the first time in warmane like a month ago and I was leveling a paladin, had no idea what mounts and stuff are , joined a ZF dungeon and still had my 60% mount from skills some dude who was leveling his alt was kind enough to give me 250 gold for skills , training and mount without me asking although I appreciated the help alot and I thanked him for it , I did not spend a single gold of that donated money I like to do the farming myself so I farmed and eventually got my mount and moved forward and later donated the 250 gold I got to another new player , they surely have a better use for that than me ;)
I thibk i got scammed like this on retail for 4k gold. Guy needed signs for his guild but he only had mine so I gave him some gold to promote himself. Never seen any post since... I don't regret it, in the end I made that money back. Thanks for opening my eyes man, I keep delaying playing on Icecrown to /wave at you, but seeing what Blizzard is doing...I might not delay it that much now.
This is, especially on Warmane WOTLK a very lucrative way to make gold. I made 2k gold begging (I was a noob ok XD) and people just give it, I think it's because there are a lot of ways to make a lot of gold in wrath and the server is like 7x or something.
I did not beg on icecrown at all, was given 220 gold by random people on their own. On the first day i was just running in dalaran and suddenly a trade window popped up and was given 20g. The second day I was on a boat to stormwind and 3 low lvls approached me begging for gold. I told them Im new and dont really have gold to spare. They gave me gold, total of 200 g. So it was a pretty nice welcome to this server :) I dont have much to play righ now, just a fresh 80, just broke cuz bought cold weather flying :D but when the time comes Im gonna do the same. Just randomly helping low lvls.
Couple days ago i asked for 30 gold to be able to buy a ring and a guildie who was nearby ended up giving me 5k lmao, that helped me a lot as a first timer in warmane
same, back then i asked some random dude on how to make bags. and he gave me like 5 netherweave bags and asked me to do the same for other newbie. that moment was epic man. felt like, i just found not just a friend, but a mentor. good MMOs gave u memories.. indeed.
Any time I get asked for gold on Icecrown, I laugh so hard. On a server with this inflated economy, buying spells and mounts really isn’t a problem if you get even a basic gathering proff. I took inscription and herbalism, 20g a glyph isn’t that big but there’s money to be made from lazy ppl via herbalism easily. I bought an epic fly before I got to 80. So while normally I wouldn’t have a problem giving 5-10g to get a newbie started, on Warmane’s Iccecrown it is a hard no.

Sometimes I ride around low level quest areas and find people I know for sure are just playing the game, open trade 10G 4 bags and ride off in the wind and hope they apricate it.

I gave people loads of gold before who were new and got loads of gold from people when I was new on this server and on others...even if 4 out of 5 are goldfarmers rather than a new player I would still continue giving gold. 100g is fuck all but a lot for new player. For me it is worth it.
I got 200g as a gift just because I was walking next to 6k Gear guy. I just started playing on Warmane and he really helped me out. I did not say one thing he was just a great guy and absolute chad
People are such bros on warmane. I asked for 2 gold for my mount and got 100 once. Another time I was severely undergeared for my level so I asked where I could get my hands on lvl 30-36 gear and this lvl 80 guy just goes "follow me bro". He gave me 300 gold and carried me through a dungeon 3 times in hopes that I would get a sick helmet at the end. Also gave me alot of advice on the game overall
i quit play pre toc patch donated all my gold to new players and boes to some new players i met on the way, i just came back starting fresh, bought linen bags (6 slots with ~ 7silver) from the bank and the actual seller sent me 33g and bought 10slot bags. i dont know much about wow tbh, same day i asked in global on how much it costs for fast mount ( i truly didnt know the exact price) and random dude gave me 50g for it, i got lost looking for the trainer in ironforge lmao but i got it eventually. When i started on Lordaeron some1 gives me 1 gold and i started my profesion, same on icecrown but around 10 or something like that, like the real life allways is better go to work than beg for money, nice video!
This is one of the reasons why i block beggars. In most of the cases they are that kind of people who would rather steal from others then find a normal job to earn money irl. For 2 yrs playing on 3.3.5a i'm almost gold capped on 1 acount, and not a single coper is from begging. Good thing that you send gold back to those players, bcs you know... karma is a bitch ;)

12) Usually irl, if you ask a person for something hard to give or do and then they decline you, from then on they are more likely to accept and do the next easier thing you ask them for/to do, because they will feel bad if they decline you everything and the hard thing you asked for will make the easier thing seem even easier, but this doesn't work as good in wow because people aren't socially obliged to give you anything so they will most likely tell you to F off again or ignore you.
13) Lastly, which is important but overlooked. Do not rush into accepting the trade or do not always initiate the trade. What i mean by that is: When you ask for gold - "Could you give me 7 gold, please?" on whisper, wait a bit for an answer, if they say -"Yes, where are you/trade?" or they trade with you, it's good for you because you seem more genuine and they are more likely to give you gold because you do not rush them into giving you anything, so you seem less like a beggar.
If they do not reply to you after 10-15 seconds, then you trade because the person is conflicted in his mind if he should give you or not and thinks that if he doesn't say anything, he will not have to give you anything but then you come and trade him. What choices does he have now? He either declines or accepts to give you gold. But he is now more likely to give you because you didn't rush him and made him figure it out in his head + you seem more genuine.
I can't remember any more of the tactics I've used but if it's something important I might add it.
I have made like 2k gold in 30 minutes (oggrimar with a 23 level character) and I've been given 1000 gold on multiple occasions so I think I am legit. In total, without doing it for very long, I have probably made around 30k from begging. Total hours if I didn't mess around will probably be like 8-10 hours of my life for begging. If we count the messing around and chatting pointlessly while doing that is going to be more like 20 hours xD, because sometimes people are really chatty and needy and stick to you for 2 hours, which is not annoying unless they start whispering to you the next day to meet irl and talk on discord xD).
Had i made it my purpose to actually make a lot of gold begging and not just ask for gold for fun, would have made A LOT more with these tactics.
The problem I see a lot with other people is that they act too retarded and on top of that ask in say chat, so when someone gives them gold publicly, the others will know that he is begging without a purpose.
Edit: This is the consistent way to make gold from begging and not the way to be randomly given 1000 gold but that comes easy if you grasp the consistent way

But damn, after watching I realized that I missed a very important part, no one who begs in a crowded place should ever interact with emotes or character movements, and when trading your character should not be turned towards the player, instead, it's better to trade by being in range but not looking at the player with the front of your character and most importantly jumping around them, which shows to others that you are waiting for a response from that person. Also, as I saw in this video too. If you have competition but he is asking on "Say chat", your chances of getting anything is reduced a lot because that guy is irritating the whole chat by spam begging for gold.
I don't feel bad about doing this, so that's why when I am asked if I think I am a good person irl, I say "Probably not". I do not wish others bad things, do not manipulate for personal gains IRL, and do not talk bad about people but it's mostly because I know it's going to bring me only anxiety, depression, and misfortune + negative reactions from a lot of people. I always share my narcissistic thoughts with the people I interact with so that I am kinda saved if I occasionally do that to people but that has not happened yet, for me to do something bad to a person. Because I know what triggers people, I know to not do it :D. Also, I feel empathy but when I find logic behind it. Examples: For any animal, because they are not mindful of their actions and old people/uneducated people with very bad circumstances because they don't have the same access to information as the average person. I don't give af about people's misfortune if it's triggered by their dumb actions when they could've prevented it fairly easily.

I started a mage and was wasking randoms to boost me. I found a dude who invited his friends and 4 of them cleared ZF for me in 2 mins 😂 we said goodbye and they gave me 1k each with some gems too, they were rly nice guys
and then everyone came.
I still remember a guy named Rubinsubin, I was asking him how to gear up, kinda became friends after a day or two. One day when I asked "What do I do now?" and then he traded me exactly 5000 gold to buy Quel'Delar. I was speechless. I still vividly remember that moment in Stormwind.
All these beggars instantly end up in my ignore more addon that auto handles it for me with certain combinations of keywords
I started wow for the first time in warmane like a month ago and I was leveling a paladin, had no idea what mounts and stuff are , joined a ZF dungeon and still had my 60% mount from skills
some dude who was leveling his alt was kind enough to give me 250 gold for skills , training and mount without me asking
although I appreciated the help alot and I thanked him for it , I did not spend a single gold of that donated money
I like to do the farming myself so I farmed and eventually got my mount and moved forward and later donated the 250 gold I got to another new player , they surely have a better use for that than me ;)

I thibk i got scammed like this on retail for 4k gold. Guy needed signs for his guild but he only had mine so I gave him some gold to promote himself. Never seen any post since... I don't regret it, in the end I made that money back.

This is, especially on Warmane WOTLK a very lucrative way to make gold. I made 2k gold begging (I was a noob ok XD) and people just give it, I think it's because there are a lot of ways to make a lot of gold in wrath and the server is like 7x or something.
I did not beg on icecrown at all, was given 220 gold by random people on their own. On the first day i was just running in dalaran and suddenly a trade window popped up and was given 20g. The second day I was on a boat to stormwind and 3 low lvls approached me begging for gold. I told them Im new and dont really have gold to spare. They gave me gold, total of 200 g. So it was a pretty nice welcome to this server :)
I dont have much to play righ now, just a fresh 80, just broke cuz bought cold weather flying :D but when the time comes Im gonna do the same. Just randomly helping low lvls.

Any time I get asked for gold on Icecrown, I laugh so hard. On a server with this inflated economy, buying spells and mounts really isn’t a problem if you get even a basic gathering proff. I took inscription and herbalism, 20g a glyph isn’t that big but there’s money to be made from lazy ppl via herbalism easily. I bought an epic fly before I got to 80. So while normally I wouldn’t have a problem giving 5-10g to get a newbie started, on Warmane’s Iccecrown it is a hard no.
Bis beggar strat, whisp everyone in the raid that you need 100g for repairs, 5 mins and bam, you are rich.

On warmane Icecrown i made my first ever char, was asking ppl for 20 gold and a legend gave me 1k,and explained everything bout the server, how to play my class, even teach me icc rc and more, i still play with him and i really respect that dude. but i dont know how to repay him

I mean if u do this if u don't actually need gold for basic wow needs then of course it is shitty :D. If u are actually new I don't see anything wrong with it. I gave people loads of gold before who were new and got loads of gold from people when I was new on this server and on others...even if 4 out of 5 are goldfarmers rather than a new player I would still continue giving gold. 100g is fuck all but a lot for new player. For me it is worth it.

I got 200g as a gift just because I was walking next to 6k Gear guy. I just started playing on Warmane and he really helped me out. I did not say one thing he was just a great guy and absolute chad
People are such bros on warmane. I asked for 2 gold for my mount and got 100 once. Another time I was severely undergeared for my level so I asked where I could get my hands on lvl 30-36 gear and this lvl 80 guy just goes "follow me bro". He gave me 300 gold and carried me through a dungeon 3 times in hopes that I would get a sick helmet at the end. Also gave me alot of advice on the game overall
i quit play pre toc patch donated all my gold to new players and boes to some new players i met on the way, i just came back starting fresh, bought linen bags (6 slots with ~ 7silver) from the bank and the actual seller sent me 33g and bought 10slot bags. i dont know much about wow tbh, same day i asked in global on how much it costs for fast mount ( i truly didnt know the exact price) and random dude gave me 50g for it, i got lost looking for the trainer in ironforge lmao but i got it eventually. Thanks kind sirs! its been rough roaming without mount and near to no bag slots.

This is one of the reasons why i block beggars. In most of the cases they are that kind of people who would rather steal from others then find a normal job to earn money irl. For 2 yrs playing on 3.3.5a i'm almost gold capped on 1 acount, and not a single coper is from begging. Good thing that you send gold back to those players, bcs you know... karma is a bitch ;)
