Thank you thank you thank you for making this video. I just got this doorbell and this video was everything I needed to know. Simple, to the point and no going off on tangents or just over explaining.! I was all youtube inst vids were like this. You know you should do an instruction video on how to make instruction videos!
I had a problem installing mine. There were two tabs that the screws that secure the video doorbell to the mounting plate go through. These tabs were molded too wide to fit into two corresponding slots on the bottom of the mounting pad. I had to sand down the tabs to allow them to fit into the slots, otherwise the video doorbell would not latch properly on to the mounting pad and make proper contact with the power. Evidently they changed the design or manufacturing process and did not test the mounting before they sold these items.
is it always on, or is it motion detected? do you get an alert when someone is at the door just looking around or do they have to ring the door bell in order to activate it? Can i look at whats going on if no one is around if it is motion detected?
can you view the camera without someone ringing the doorbell like to see if a package has been left on the porch? Can you viewimages or video it has saved when you are away from home?
Nice review, but just a few side comments, first and foremost is that you probably want to make sure that you turn off the power going to the door bell before starting this ptoject and also I would probably mount the door bell bracket slightly lower to hide the wires from being show down below and prventing posdible vandals from cutting the wires and renderings your door bell useless. Other then that everything else is shown very nicely in the video, great job.
When I tried installing my Zmodo doorbell yesterday I had a problem. There are two places where the Camera assembly is locked on to the mounting plate, one at the top edge and another towards the bottom. The camera assembly has two slots where parts of the mounting plate slide up into a corresponding slot and keep the whole assembly in place. The mounting plate that came with my doorbell had two tabs on the very bottom edge that prevented the doorbell from seating and allowing the bottom latch from latching into the slot towards the bottom of the camera assembly. I had to file them down so they would fit inside the grooves located on the corresponding location on the Camera assembly. I notice that the mounting plate shown in this video does not have those two tabs. They must have made a change to the design, but it is causing a problem. You need to reshape these two tabs (I used a file)so they will fit into the corresponding grooves and allow the camera assembly to fit flush with the back plate.
I had the same issue and used a pair of flush cut snipers and just cut them off... But then my unit also did not come with any mounting hardware so I had to dig up some of my own... Even though they were self tapping counter sunk screws they still stuck out about 1mm off the plate so I then had to take a dermal and grind the heads of the screws down to get the two tabs ( one upper on the unit and one lower on the bracket ) to be able to fit right and hang on the bracket.. After that debacle I also did not have the two screws that go into the bottom of the unit once its on the bracket to lock it in... /sigh before you ask, yes this was a brand new unit.. just very poor QC checking. Now I am waiting for what is now 15mins for an on app assistant to help me with why none of the 3 methods given to add your new device to the app will the app recognize my device and just gives an error code with every method... uuuuuuhhhhgggggg
Hi Jeff. I have a 4CH Zmodo NVR system and a 4CH FunLux system which is really a Zmodo camera with FunLux on it. I also have a single Zmodo camera that I use as well as the Zmodo Pivot. I care for my mom who has Alzheimer's so I need to be able to watch her throughout the house when I can't be in the room with her and these cameras allow me to watch both the outside as well as the inside of my home all from one app which I love.
I would suggest you do not buy anything made by Zmodo. You would be better off with a basic camera that you can simply connect to your home wifi and not have to pay zmodo for the privilege or go through their service to view the video. Read the comments on other review videos and you will see all the angry people like me.
It will only record if the doorbell is rung. I have another camera by Zmodo that is mounted above my door which records to my NVR and has motion detection on it.
Yes, you can set up more than 1. It's the same as setting up the home cameras. Yes, you can "Share" the camera feeds with more than 1 person. You can view on phones (app), tablets (app), and even computers (via their website). I love all of the options I get.
bro she didn't hook up the wire, so technically those are live wire (tho low voltage)that's if if she didn't cut the power. So mount your new bell and keep it pushing
Jelly Donut “So easy even a woman” wow 😮 that’s intense. Given the fact that females learn quicker and are smarter than males and they are finally Allowed to enter the field that only men dominated so hearing that phrase is extremely disheartening in 2018.

Rings inside the house too? With my old doorbell ringtone box?

Thanks for the video...I didn't know you could adjust the camera angle
HELP!!! My Zomodo doorbell, as of about a month ago, keeps saying Device offline. Any suggestions as to how to get it to work properly.
@@LetMeTellYouAboutThis Thank you. I'll try it today.

Good night.
I would like to install ZMODO SMART WIFI DOORBELL?
can you view the camera without someone ringing the doorbell like to see if a package has been left on the porch? Can you viewimages or video it has saved when you are away from home?

I was just about to make the same suggestions. Well said Alex!
It is dc power like a battery so you won't get a shock from the wires. It is like touching both ends of a battery.
If someone cuts the wires it is connected through wifi anyway. The wires just operate the chime.
What if I dont have a doorbell does it still work or can I make it work without it....for example does it need power from old doorbell for it to work
Nice video . This makes installation very easy after watching your video . Thank you .
I have a question, when the bell stays green, what do I have to do? Thank you.
What brand and model of wifi router did you use?

Very nice video Karen, I liked your annotations and everything
What's to stop someone from moving the camera angle? There's nothing to protect it, from what I could see.
What do you do about the buzzing from the chime? Did you install the power accessory to your chime?
Will it ring the existing doorbell in the house using the Zmodo door bell?
Yes, mine does since I wired it to the existing doorbell wires.
So does it need to be connected to wires in order for it to work or no
Will it work for 220 volts current ?
these run off the doorbell wire which is not 220 AC. It is DC power like a battery.
Do you also have that brand surveillance cameras as well? I seen your phone had a couple of camera icons on it

I have brick so it will be more difficult to mount! Any suggestions?
drill the holes in mortar and use dry wall brackets for the screws.

Can you link more than one doorbell to the app? and more then one person log on to the app? (wife, and husbands phones)?

Hello how is your door bell working today? I'm thinking of getting one.
Thanks for your reply . I haven't found a No Soliciting sign that works.
My house doesnt have those wires, the door bell has a battery, so how do I install the zomodo without those wires?

Can the doorbell still be heard inside the home?
sav fam yes.
Gret job... Does it have motion sensor to auto take a pic of whos at your door?
It sure does. Best of all it's so easy even a woman can set it up!

@@lovelace4247 "Given the fact that females learn quicker and are smarter than males" you're not allowed to talk ever after that statement.
I would have made it a little lower to cover the wires at the bottom or done it on the lower siding.
Hi, great video! I have a question about the motion detection. Is the motion detection adjustable with zones like the Zmodo Greet Pro? Regards
where to find this door bell in Europe,? any supplyers ?
I'm not sure but you can reach out to Zmodo at their web site, www.Zmodo.com and see if they can help you.
There is a different App for IOS Phones: it is ZModo.
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
You should have put the bracket over the hole of the old doorbell to cover the hole
Great video.
great device...I like
Well yeah, that's what we expected
