Life long resident of the Metro Detroit area and you're coming at a great time. The city is in the midst of a renaissance right now, and between the sports teams coming back to downtown, the unbelievably fantastic and still-growing restaurant scene, theaters, special events... there's just been a ton of investment in revitalizing the city and it's just a very good time to visit Detroit. Not to mention, the Rocket Mortgage Classic is held here and US Open venue Oakland Hills is just outside the city, as well as the Robert Trent Jones-designed Orchards Golf Club (which is beautiful and open to the public. You'll have a blast. And on your next visit to Michigan, you'll have to take the crew up north to Arcadia Bluffs (a top 15 public course in the entire US), as well as the Nicklaus and Player designed courses in Traverse City, or The Loop in Roscommon... and that's not even the tip of the iceberg. There's just so much good golf in this state!
I'm currently listening and gave a genuine excite gasp when you mentioned the array of Japanese iron. I hope you go for some kyoei irons!!! I wet myself after I looked them up from that video you did a while back.

You picked a great year to come watch the Lions and Red Wings. You will really enjoy the games. At LCA sit in the lower bowl for the best experience. As for the Lions, it will be a rocking crowd. And Detroit does get a bad rap. There are bad places in the city like any big city, but they have been doing a lot to improve it. Been living in the area my whole life
I had the pleasure of being in the next driving range bay to Jimmy Bullard one day at Trafford Golf Centre. Oh man! That boy can flush it, I had a serious case of golf swing envy...!
