seeing all these hate comments on the RC F because its not 0.3 seconds as quick as (name a competitor here), PEOPLE buy these cars for emotion, sound, uniqueness, sexyness, and personality / soul. It has a high revving V8 and great styling and a great interior what more could you want? stop living on the forums guys.
justin bouche Was about to comment the same thing but I will let you be the only one. If it was my money I wouldn't want a common M4 based on a even more common 4 series but a super rare limited numbered RCF also I wouldn't really put this in the same class as a M4 but more towards the F type side since it's hilarious and looks amazing and it's soemthing you buy with your heart.
The RC F is one sexy looking car!!! Plus Lexus won many awards and certificates for its superb top notch paint scheme It's lovely looking spindle grille which looks like fusili and also it's reliability plus my dad had a Lexus LS
funny how most of the people saying stuff like "oh BMW M4 > RCF" are probably spotty teenagers who take top gear seriously and the only car they have driven is their mothers Nissan Micra.
sliwka621 my uncle owns a 1989 bmw e30 that have done over 400k km and it still runs like a clock. As much as i'd hate to admit it germans know how to make their cars .. i'd still prefer a VW or a Merc over a bmw ... but NOT a Lexus .. that's just my humble opinion And one more thing, my dad ALWAYS used to tell me to treat a car right .. if you abuse your car .. it'll fall apart regardless of who built it. enjoy your evening good sir.
***** Your humble opinion is as ignorant as it can be. What does a *1989* car have to do with now, nothing? They *used* to be good, doesn't mean they *are* good now. The only automotive company that does not screw their customers over since the beginning seems to be Toyota and Honda which is proven by many rankings every year again and again. "if you abuse your car .. it'll fall apart regardless of who built it" - yes, and some sooner than other. Most German 50k KM, most Japanese 200k KM, huge difference.
I love it!! This car has "shouty" (maybe more than just showy) loudmouth written all over it, especially in this color, or perhaps red! Love it when Matt and the team add that initial soundtrack to their vid, it usually signals a car that means business. I really love the RC and it's naturally aspirated V8, it will be my next car.
David Cammaerts Really,I mean funcking REALLY???From all the cars like LFA or AM Vanquish you would buy half finished design and engine outdated car??? Congrats sir..
Tuco oh god sorry i forgot i lived in North Korea and i wasn't allowed to have an opinion ! And yes the Aston Martins V12 that has been used for around 20 years and is originally 2 Ford V6's is ultra modern. Idiot
I would buy it over the BMW M4 for three reasons, it is more comfortable especially if daily driven, it sounds awesome and I assume the running cost is cheaper than the BMW.
This car has aged like fine wine. The design still looks modern and fresh to this day. And with the advent of EV's, the V8 is more relevant today than ever!
looks better than an m4. the na engine is also sweeter than the fi in german cars. weight and visibility are not superb indeed. and for the price you could get a three-year-old ls460 and enjoy a more calming ride and better sound system. 95% of the time i don't care about extraordinary handling (though the ls has incredibly short turning radius so it's easy to manoeuvre around). i doubt others do, either. you can buy a much cheaper car (e.g. the rx7) for the 5% of time.
XBuzz996 I too enjoy holding an automatic's gear lever on the consol for several reasons. It reminds me of many years of manual shifting and it's downshifting is sometimes useful instead of braking. Also good in a drive-thru crawl -- if you know your vehicle, you can slip it in an out of Neutral - and never use the brake. But that requires good timing and terrain familiarity ;
i once hope that brz/frs/86 would have a v6 or v8 engine and lexus just answered it with their rc350 and rc f.. the only thing i need now is a lot of money, lol!
Lexus should have put this engine in the gs f except with two turbos added instead of how they directly put it in with the same specs for a car that goes against the m5.
xBuzz996 Small button vs large pedal. It's just slightly easier to press a pedal as I'm getting in/out of the car than looking for a button somewhere. What is better about a button?
MRFUCKOFF202 I drove an E class and an A6 for a week each and I have to say, every time I sat in the Merc and pulled that lever to release the handbrake just made the whole picture of the merc less luxurious. The button in the A6 made it easier to "get off the line" because of the no need of pressing it down. And that "look for a button" is not a valid argument because the car persist of several buttons and you pretty much remember where all of them are. Either a real handbrake as it was, or an electric one, not a foot operated one, feels so clumsy. But I do see why Mercedes have chosen to get a foot operated handbrake and that is because, I think at least, they want a clean interior as possible. They even put the gear lever behind the steering wheel which sucks too. It felt really weird to drive without a gear lever in your right hand, even if I drove for a complete week, I never got used to it.
xBuzz996 When you say "pulled that lever to release the handbrake" to you mean "pressed that pedal to release the foot-operated parking brake"? What do you mean "The button in the A6 made it easier to get off the line"? Do you mean because of the auto-release function? This is only a benefit in a manual car and the RCF is automatic. Yeah I guess a foot-operated parking brake could feel a bit less luxurious but not much. It's not a big thing, but it is quicker and easier to press a pedal down than it is to press a button or pull a tab somewhere on the dashboard. I can press the pedal and take my key out/press the start/stop button at the same time. You may remember where the button is approximately, but you can't close your eyes and find it instantly, whereas you can find the pedal without seeing it. I don't see how having the gear selector on the steering wheel is a bad thing in that sense. Why would you be fondling an automatic gear selector while driving anyway? I prefer centre-mounted gear selectors because they're more simple to operate and don't get in the way of the steering wheel/other stalks on the steering wheel.
MRFUCKOFF202 In the E-class you have to pull a lever to release the handbrake, which is just frustrating when for example going on errands in the city and you have to push and pull the handbrake(s), which I had a lot of when my sisters engagement party was due. You have to bend forward and then it makes a big clunky sound as the handbrake releases. The button in the A6 is a 2-way button. Press down and the handbrake is on. Thats all you have to do, and the button is at your fingertips when moving the gear to park. That auto release function works both in automatic and manual, and I've tried them both. And when I was in Norway with the E class I had a frustrating time with the Merc because Norway's roads are so small and when parking I had to go from Reverse to Drive like 5 times because I was very catious with the cars and didnt want to jack it up. I literally had to reach the gear lever behind the steering wheel several times. I did get in those kind of situations with the A6. but it felt more naturall and quicker with the gear lever in the traditional place. And by off the line I mean as it's quicker to get in and drive away in the A6 than the E-class. Took so much more time with the E-class that it got really disturbing. I dont know how you sit when you drive and cruise, I really dont sit with my hand at 10 and 2. It's more like my left hand on 12 and (usually) my right hand on the gear lever. In the case of the E-class I couldnt do that which felt kind of uncomfortable. The merc overall feels a bit old compared to the A6. The gearbox in the merc feels soooo ooooold compared to the A6's S-tronic. Though the merc does feel really good when cruising, I'll give you that
Can you show the engine from now on please I am a huge fan of carbuyer but I am thinking of unsubing because the reviews are getting a bit boring so if you shown the engine and done a little rev will make a 13 year old really happy
It looks psycho, crazy, outrageous, abnormal. I like it n_n Sure, it's not the fastest thing out there, but how fast are you gonna go on the public roads anyways? Besides, you can't really say it's slow in any particular way, and looks are subjective, so there's no right or wrong opinion when it comes to that. Honestly, I love the C63, M4, and S4, but I'd till take this for the exclusivity, the craziness of it, and that lovely interior. Of course, that's my opinion anyways. You like an M4, C63, or any other of the competition? Great! I'm sure you've chosen the car that fits you perfectly n_n
Nice review of a car that should have been so much better... and it's the perfectly unacceptable weight of it that spoils the acceleration, spoils the economy, spoils the handling/braking... spoils everything. I KNOW Toyota/Lexus make good cars, which are also the most reliable in the world, as I have had quite a few of them (two Avensis cars, three company Corollas - not one broke down over the years) but damn, they so hard to love. I am a HUGE fan of driving, but in a Toyota, I prefer to be driven by my wife, so much I hate driving a Toyota. It makes me drowsy and unhappy immediately. Imagine if Toyota or Lexus made the BMW 5 series! It would be heaven! Anyway, I plan on buying an F10 BMW 530d (God help me!), with a manual transmission. What do you think about this car, Carbuyer?
Yes, I have driven the 450h. It's a great car, but the driving experience is very strange. The car accelerates pretty briskly, but because of the CVT transmission the engine note stays the same no matter what you do. And that to me is rather weird and is a turn off.
Well I guess I'll be one of the preservers of the internal combustion engine. I do realize of course the fact that electric autonomous cars are the future. They are clean and efficient and will avoid accidents like no human can. But that will take the driver out of the equation completely, and that makes me sad. Even today it is nigh on impossible to get a luxurious car with a large engine, which also happens to have a manual gearbox. The manual F10 BMW 530D with 258bhp is as good as it gets. It combines a powerful engine with the great pleasure of actually controlling those 600+NM of torque yourself. And it's got the looks and the interior, and the RWD. It's only problem as far as I can tell is that BMW's are unreliable. What's worse, and it's know fact, BMW are doing it on purpose, so they can sell spare parts. And that's just mean. PS. I do have HUGE respect for Elon Musk, though
Alexandr Umanetz I don't know what Elon Musk has to do with anything, it's not like he reinvented the electric car. But you must realise that it is actually not that hard to make an electric car feel exactly like one with a combustion engine. Only problem would be the reproduction of the smell and that's it. As to BMW screwing its customers, I think that the only large automotive company that doesn't do that as much now is Lexus (Toyota).
how can you tell if someone is very poor and never owned this kind of cars ? well he generally picks a car just because it is faster lol people here going about the M4 remind me of all you GTR fan boys that would take one over a bugatti or something lol
+Majd Dasoki as much as I respect your opinion my friend, The bugatti looks awful from the inside and the outside and it doesn't even have a soul , while the GTR looks amazing and it has a very strong soul. As I said this is a personal opinion :)

3 things I hate about this car Looks, it looks a lot more hideous than an M4 or C63 with that spindle grille. Interior, certain looks and probably feels alot cheaper than an M4 or C63 Handling, Doesn't seem to handle well on track for a performance coupe.
peacegod101 3 things i like about this car Looks, it has two doors Interior, it has a steering wheel Handling, the car turns with the steering wheel.. WOOOOOAHH!!!
Lexus somewhat competes with Mercedes in term of luxury. But it fails because the 5l v8 is shit compared to the 6.2l v8 from w204 c63. When compared to w205 c63 the Lexus has shit interior and poor handling
AM i the only one here that actually loves the look of the Lexus RC F?

Baha T reliability
Real vents on the grill and real exhaust pipes!
I love the color

My dream car right there!
thats why i got a Lexus rather than a BMW
it has less options
+Sebastian Lim And a better overall ownership experience.
+Gordaton yup thx
+sliwka621 i agree and also good customer service
Good review Matt, is it possible to make longer versions though?
No as he cant remember the words
3 lexus and still going i love this brand
This car has aged like fine wine. The design still looks modern and fresh to this day. And with the advent of EV's, the V8 is more relevant today than ever!
I want to get rid of my unreliable Audi for this!
I didn’t buy my rcf to track it...it’s a gt v8 jdm muscle :) with guaranteed reliability
I was about to buy mustang s550 gt then I saw RCF .now I know what I want .
Now even the sx4-scross seems pretty.
0:49 filmed where I grew up, around Bruntingthorpe Air Field!
"Lexus likes to keep things simple"
uh what???
Great video!!
I love BMW, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Audi, Honda and Cadillac all very clever cars
Both Germans and Japanese are very good at car making
Lightsaber Lord P373 Cadillac is American
Should do a video on cars that will be great first cars for 17 year olds

he forgots another option, the super pricey carbon hood and spoiler
+boy638 Its not on this particular car though?!
boy638 I
What a awful color did Will.i.am spec this one ?
i once hope that brz/frs/86 would have a v6 or v8 engine and lexus just answered it with their rc350 and rc f.. the only thing i need now is a lot of money, lol!
It's actually a 17 speaker sound system in 12 locations. (Mark levinson)
What's happened to matts face
Change to 2nd gear?
long time no see carbuyer
what's the point of not having a turbo if you have to rev the engine? They should've tuned it for better low-end performance
Just throw it in s+ mode
Having that gopro strapped to your head comes in handy when making these reviews. Must be a bit odd when walking around town though.
This video made me cry and my automotive heart bleed...
4:11 I wish Rebecca was here
Can you do a review on the Citroen xsara Picasso? Even though it's a old car?
First thing Lexus needs to do to make this an actual sports car is lighten the weight and give it stiffer suspension/ thicker and anti-roll bars
carwow!
Lexus should have put this engine in the gs f except with two turbos added instead of how they directly put it in with the same specs for a car that goes against the m5.
What is that song playing background ?
0-62 in 4.5 seconds....0-60 in 4.3.

so bad thing is bcs he accelarate from 60 to 170 km/h in 3rd gear?? in what, 6 s?
Not so sure about the headlights though...
Is that the car that Jeremy refused to get the Stig in to do a lap?
Yep he pretty much hated it, didn't hardy say anything good about it
To me I still don't like the front styling...
The most embarrassing thing on this video was your head-cam. I’d suggest not wearing it on a first date! 😂
Doesn't it seem somewhat similar to the Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ?
+Al-Girvan Tobias Different beast - much more power, and less fun to throw around corners. The BRZ/GT86 is, we think, much better than the RC F.
+Carbuyer OH yh? what sort of conclusion is that? In terms of speed, tech, luxury and comfort I think they'd probably be left in the dust.
It's for sale at this moment
jeremy clarkson hated this car while his favourite car is a Lexus LFA..
Great
The information system is hard? It's the easiest, simply dial in Lexus Owners Desk and let the operator do all the job for you

Anyone passed 300,000 miles with one of these?

Why the accent matt
Mattt! Is that you??😂
First needs aftermarket parts badly. Modern cars are way too silent.
Is he lose weight?
4:28, just look at the front...how the fuck can that go further than the drawing board?
Yes if looks could kill that car would shoot itself!

Socially akward Lexus:
Makes a performance Coupe
Focuses more on the grill than performances
look at his face what happend
haven't watched one these for a while... is mat developing a little bit of a scouse accent? (just wondering)
The music is too obvious and annoying.
Carwow?
R to the C to the F...
luxury
Music so annoying every 10 secs
To be fair the Lexus is quite dull. I'm more interested in the loooooong row of reefers lining the track. Must be a factory parking spot.
I drive 120mph everyday on the highway..
Abid Ali If you live in the UK, then ur an idiot
So what?.... LOL
This guy's a dumbass. He probably means 120kmph (75mph) because thats the general speed limit on highways in middle eastern countries like the UAE
0:45 Look at those yaris buttons...
British people say coupe funny :,O
He only like German & German made.
Looks are just not there

3 things I hate about this car
Looks, it looks a lot more hideous than an M4 or C63 with that spindle grille.
Interior, certain looks and probably feels alot cheaper than an M4 or C63
Handling, Doesn't seem to handle well on track for a performance coupe.

3 things i like about this car
Looks, it has two doors
Interior, it has a steering wheel
Handling, the car turns with the steering wheel.. WOOOOOAHH!!!
マックス Man LOL, funny comment.
Lexus somewhat competes with Mercedes in term of luxury. But it fails because the 5l v8 is shit compared to the 6.2l v8 from w204 c63. When compared to w205 c63 the Lexus has shit interior and poor handling
You know nothing, Jon *Snow*.
