Nice platformer based on those loveable tiny detectives from the animated TV series. The plot follows the typical "animated kid's show to video game" pattern by having the female protagonist (Gadget) kidnapped and sending the two rescue critters out on a mission to save her and defeat the evil Fat Cat.
One of the things about this game I remember best was the annoyingly catchy music (the theme song has undoubtedly been permanently etched into my head), but what I had forgotten about it was how addictive throwing barrels, giant apples, and crates was. Any object you pick up, you can throw left, right, or straight up and you can also duck under many objects for cover. It all gives the game a layer of strategy when you have multiple enemies on-screen at once.
The game progression was also somewhat non-linear. The first stage select screen (A-G) consisted of branching paths so you could complete stages out of order. For this video, though, I played sequentially. -

One of my very first video games to play as a toddler in the early 90s. :)
The last level has one of the most memorable, most amazing music themes ever. I wish the music in todays games were just half as good as this. Alas, 'tis not.

Western games maybe. But Japanese games almost always sound as good as they were in 80's.
Falcom's Sound J.D.K. Team always produces music of 80's and 90's videogame quality, and you just have to listen to "Ys VIII - You Will see the End of Tales" and "Ys VIII - Corridors of Ages Past" to see that Last level musics still sound good in japanese games ^_^

This game should be remastered just like they did with Ducktales.
I truly agree with you! In fact, "Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers Remastered" should have the features that "DuckTales Remastered" included: upgraded HD visuals and voice acting by the surviving members of the original Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers series voice cast (for instance, Tress MacNeille reprising her role as Chip and Gadget, Corey Burton as Dale and Zipper, and Jim Cummings as Monterey Jack and Fat Cat). Also, one of the things that I would love to see in the new HD remaster of this game is where after you first beat the game, you unlock Gadget as a playable character, and from that point on, you can replay the levels anytime.

I wonder if Disney will have WayForward remaster this game like they did with DuckTales. I'd be psyched just to see a remastered version of this game. I really want to play this game one more time, but with new challenges and stuff.

I will never ever forget how releaved i was as a nearly 11 year old boy back in 1993 once i beated this game.
I will never ever forget how much trouble i did got in zone j with those conveyor belts as well with those shooting creatures, man that was so frustrating back then.
In fact i still found it amezing from my self to be able to eventually beat that game,phew🤣

Man, this brings back memories... I remember how I never passed level A (probably because I didn't know how to throw the ball up at the boss part). Now I am trying to beat level I, but i'm still training and hoping that one day i'll beat the whole game :)

Ahh, childhood memories
This brings back memories back when Disney cartoons were awesome. This game may be too easy but who cares it's still fun and that is the main thing. I would love to see Capcom do a remake but only if they leave the gameplay intact and if they remake the sequel please let us be able to catch Fat Cat at the end.

One of my favourite games from childhood
I remember how I used to play this game an awful lot during my childhood. First encountered it when I was six (I think), and we rented it from Blockbuster Video while living in Rochester, NY. Some years later, we found this lovely game at a Zappers store (where they sold new/pre-owned games, along with having folks rent the video games - it was a place that was more or less common in Western New York) around Christmas of 1994 as the NES was at the end of its lifespan. Thanks to Chip 'n Dale and DuckTales for NES (the latter which got remastered in 2013), I had learned of Capcom, which made a lot of great video games like Mega Man and Street Fighter. :)
Oh this brings back so many memories... mostly of me trolling whoever was the other player in coop and tossing them off cliffs... :D I would love to see this game remastered.
After all these years them level soundtracks are still stuck in my head :)
Great game all around. The music was of course a highlight, as was the coop mode, which I loved to play with a friend.

The music of the last stage is simply heavy metal in an 8bit form. Megaman series are no different from this.
*sees the end of level J* I was right there at the end all those years ago!? I was actually that close to beating the game back then!? Man this brought back memories; when I was a kid I always lost all of my lives to those axes in Level J because I still hadn't learned to time my jumps in platformers properly.

Hey, I remember this!
Once, me and my friend got to the bomb part. I was like "What color?!!" When we cut one of the wires, it knock my partner's character out, forcing me to do the next stage by myself. I failed, and the next try my partner's in again.
Good times.
I remember playing this game at my grandma's house when I was like 6. My brother and I made it to the final boss and beat him, and it felt like a major accomplishment. Its funny, 'cuz looking back at THIS gameplay footage, it look SUPER easy. Heh.

Capcom, you just had to put the boxes from Mega Man into this game complete with the sound effect, didn't you? If you didn't make such kickass games I'd be thoroughly upset with you!
Strange how in zone D you sometimes pass through the flower icons without collecting them. I always thought my game was bugged, but I see that glitch is in this playthrough as well.

By the way, did that cheese attack lead Monterey Jack to week-long cheese binge? Seriously, they turn Zipper into all-killing death machine while giving Monty only title screens and one-second scene where he is used as a live battering ram while being out of his mind!
