- A playthrough of Capcom's 1994 license-based platformer for the NES game, Disney's Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers 2.
As one of the last official releases for the NES, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers 2 nearly missed the party. Most people had long since moved onto 16-bit machines by 1994, but for those who were stubbornly clinging to the decrepit NES, Capcom still had a couple surprises left up its sleeve. Chip 'n Dale 2 was perhaps the nicest of those surprises.
It was an excellent follow-up to the 1990 Rescue Rangers game ( • Chip 'n Dale: Rescue R... ). Not much has changed between the games, but as was the case with DuckTales 2, everything on offer here was of top quality.
The sequel features the same game play as the original did. Chip and/or Dale run through areas filled with oversized items while throwing boxes at a variety of robots and bugs as they try to solve a mystery.
It's a bit more linear than the original game. The map is gone and there's only one branching path that allows you to play the three stages leading up the the final one in any order, but the game play feels more refined than before. You can throw crates diagonally now, the boss fights are more creative and challenging than they were in the first game, and there are some new bonus areas that can only be accessed with a bit of teamwork in the two player mode.
The graphics are much more detailed and colorful this time, and there's impressively little flicker and slowdown throughout. The music is good, too - the soundtrack isn't nearly as memorable as the first game's, but it is energetic and it suits the action well.
I really enjoyed Rescue Rangers 2. It's a well-made game that knows how to entertain and charm.
(And if you don't want to shell out several hundred for an original NES cart, you can grab it cheap as part of The Disney Afternoon Collection!)

Chip 'n Dale 2 is a pretty impressive NES game that manages to be just as fun as the first one.
can you do a playthrough of Diddy Kong Racing next?
Thanks for posting this.
The music is perfect!!
Can you do playthrough of Felix the Cat?
@@Hoshi_No_Kabii I actually did not too long ago. Have you checked out my NES playlist? You'll find it there ruclips.net/p/PL3gSj_kh1fHtxy0_CDUwa6UPCO3PSf87-
Had such great time with the first one back in the day. Gonna buy the Disney Afternoon Collection to try this out.
The unending fun this game was for me and my two brothers. I remember that as a kid the intro part with the lights used to scare me because i didn't know what it led to.
As a kid, the ghost stage and Fatcat Robot scared me lol
Amo
Finished this one back in the day and played it not that long ago. Such a fun Capcom platformer!
33:12 came here for this music 😊. it's been 15 years. still remember this sound.
Eu também, joguei com seis, sete anos por ai em 2009, muito nostálgico e bom este game, mano.
and especially interlaced with the sound of rock falling and chain swinging xD
Here's to many more seasons of the Rescue Rangers.
I just stumbled upon the box art for number two and had no idea it existed! Thanks for the vid.
Total nostalgia, used to play this game with my brother on video game console
I know which one you're talking about, me and my brother too played the hell out of this
I think my favorite thing they "got away with" was the Stage 3 boss weasel pirate using alcohol to spit fireballs. It's an old trope and I love it.
one of the best games ever made when judging how they hold up in their timeframe
Glad it wasn't one of those Disney games that turned out way too hard for kids to ever complete. This actually looks a shade easier than the first one.
Has one of the best boss themes (version 1) ever. Love this game!
Another fun NES game that I've great time playing.
This is perfect because the movie finally appears!!!
there is no worse movie like chip and dale
I will always like chip and dale for the series and video games
Where Zipper "scores"....
Level design is awesome!
Well, I must say, that is the happiest clock tower level this side of _Castlevania III_ I've ever seen. Also, were all the bosses shrunk down to Chip and Dale's size so that there would be no size advantage? All jokes aside I heard this was a pretty great one and love the colors in this, just in time for the movie to premiere!
Own this CIB. Fun game, and while I miss the freedom of choosing your route through the levels, I enjoy the stronger emphasis on story.
That thing is worth a lot complete in box. Keep it safe.
@@The_Bad_Guy. I do, as well as the other rare games I own CIB. :)
This is the game I have been searching for. Finally found it. 😅
For some reason, Capcom didn't develop this. Make Software did. Make Software was also behind Capcom Barcelona.
Apparently, they also developed Milon's Secret Castle. But not the NES version. The Game Boy one.
I loved the final boss in this game.
I remember beating this when I was a lot younger and it felt like the biggest achievement ever
Just as fun as the first game. I think it looks and sounds better though.
The 1st one was immense fun. Never knew the 2nd one came out until a few years ago because my NES was stolen back about 1991. The sequel looks just as fun as the original
sad bro you not have luck when i was kid i play it little late like 1999 i think bc im born 1993 for that i play her little late but i have it this 2 games in one cartrige for that i have it the 1st and the 2 game that game was fun just like the 1st one it was cool but in this only the final boss i need it little time to find how how to beat him
My favourite stage starts from 21:49
I did not know they make a sequel
That's because this game is extremely rare in NES form due to being released late in the NES's lifecycle (as in the year this was released, gamers already moved on to the Super NES). The Disney Afternoon Collection is the only legal way to play this game without breaking the bank, as a loose NES cart of this game goes up to about $350, while a copy complete with the box, manual, and sleeve I have seen go for almost $1,100.
*Rescue Rangers has been alive for several years it is becoming a movie soon! Several trailers have been leaked and the release date*
You’re just in time!
Capcom was just unstoppable
It's been forever since I played since this game, but I think you can hit enemies low to the ground by ducking inside the box and then throwing it.
My god my childhood
Pure nostalgia
Легендарная игра!
9:00 they remembered Gadget's indecisiveness.
22:46 Essa música e fase é umas das melhores deste game que é uma obra prima, lembro ate hj
Such a great game! Too bad it came late in the lifecycle of the NES
This is such a rare game for the NES. It was always on my wish list with Duck Tales 2. I found Mighty Final Fight and Snow Brothers, but not this one. I would say this is one of the rarest Capcom titles. Charming game.
Oh you can definitely find it online. But you'll pay a fortune for it.
@@The_Bad_Guy. I know. I collected NES games in the late 90’s and early 2000s. I found my games in the wild, but I understand that isn’t really possible anymore. Buying a game online isn’t very rewarding, finding it is. Just my opinion.
@@rjcupid oh you're totally right about that. I've been collecting NES games since the early 2000s. And when I first started doing it that's how I did it. Flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores, now it's mostly online and it's taken all the fun out of it. Because even out in the wild anymore people jack the price way up because they see what people sell them for on eBay and places like that.
@@The_Bad_Guy. 100% right. The big difference for me too is that back in the day you needed to know which games were rare/expensive through inner knowledge/reading/memory and research, now all you need to do is have a smartphone with you and search the name up on eBay. Totally changes everything from a knowledge-based hobby to a money-based one. I would search for rare games then because of the rarity factor, not the value. Have a nice day!
Awesome
Fun game quality and moderate difficulty
Nostalgic ❤
Watching this while playing the game!!!
P.s..Learned No New Secrets😮😢😮
I never knew you can jump on the corks to open them and jump higher ....
🤗 Ya just gotta ❤ Gadget 🔨🔧🔎💡🔦
awesome, another epic game
Who else is going to watch the movie?
anyone here for the new Chip ‘n Dale movie? ;)
Yes , I'm gonna watch that movie later
Nope, it was in my feed, and I watched the first game for a bit.
Ugly Sonic!!
@@NintendoComplete lol 🤣 I was very surprised when I saw him on that movie I'm sure this meme would increase views on movie on Disney+
@@NintendoComplete ?
WE WANT DARKWING WE WANT DARKWING SAY IT WITH ME WE WANT DARKWING! What a load of malarkey
The newscaster in the opening should not know about Fat Cat.
The best game
5:35 Turkey 🦃 dinner 🍽️ chip and dale
It's not a Coincidence that you uploaded this Recently.
ironic that you are playing this right when the movie came out lol 😆 😏
Anyone else watch any of the rescue rangers marathon that was on Disney XD the last few days???
I don’t have that channel, but all I know is that we were so spoiled with incredible cartoons growing up in the 80s and early 90s. What a time to be a kid. I really liked the cartoon M.A.S.K.; that show was awesome. Rescue Rangers is an all time classic cartoon. Growing up in Canada, we had the show The Raccoons, which was amazing too. It has the best outro/ending credits song of all time.
Never played that one be played the original
Based on the movie
Was it true this was rental only? I remember that was the story going around
No, it sold in stores, but due to how late in the NES life cycle it was released, it saw a much smaller print run than th first game.
Another expensive sequel
@matt So did you buy a repro, or is that what you paid for it in 1995?
@matt really?? I guess you got a good luck on getting it on a affordable deal many years before it became very rare.
This was the last game I’d play for the NES. Not sure why the ending turn out the way it did & not sure who was thinking that but whatever. This game was not as great as the 1st but it was OK.
nine was Japanese , had no clue what to click on and what exactly is going on ,25 years Ago
my mom says it didn't sell
Game’s good and all but where’s Ugly Sonic?
1up 5:23
:)
Loved the cartoon but not the games. Ducktales were both great.
Three guesses why this is here, and the first two don't count.
Ooh, I think I got it. It's because someone uploaded it to RUclips's servers and hit the publish button?
@@NintendoComplete Does this qualify as one of the first two guesses?
@@freddyvidz 🤔... 🤷
Where's Ugly Sonic tho?
At a dentist, hopefully.
Game link plzz 😢😢
clássico
i feel like this one, and ducktales 2 should have been SNES games. releasing them on the dead NES at the time made no sense. these would have been big time sellers on the snes. 1994 major release like this on the nes? why, nobody bought nes games anymore then
Es mejor chip & dale 2 mejor que el 1?
Both
