I bought all kinds of boots throughout my working life and for hiking and I could never find a boot that would stay waterproof for more than a few months so I have spent a lot of time with cold and damp feet. I treated myself to a pair of Altbergs and I suddenly discovered that it was the quality of the leather that made all the difference. I'm three years into my first pair and they are as dry as the the day that I bought them. Iinterviewed a young woman for a job recently and as we were talking I noticed that she was wearing a pair of Altbergs. That told me a lot about her and I offered her the job on the spot.
This is simply marvelous! Here in the USA it seems we have outsourced the manufacturing of almost all of our boots to other lands (mostly Asia). There are a handful of exceptions. I wish for your company to be a going concern for many, many years!
I am a Yorkshire man. I visited the factory which is only small a few weeks ago. you could stand at the front and throw an egg over the roof to the ground on the other side. The old lad has sold the factory as he is retiring. Thankfully he did not want the big companies taking it so his son is going to continue the work. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever tried. This is kneeling down jumping hard turns etc in a brand new boot. They are also keeping all the Yorkshire employees.
Used to wear german para boots but those are hard to get now, Tried the Altberg defenders and love them, such a strong dependable boot and reasonably priced compared to the competition, I just slot into my boots and I feel ready to take on anything in them.
Alt berg boots are brilliant!!! I work in the emergency services world. I have just ordered my 4th pair. They usually last me about 2years of doing 50 to 60 hours a week which makes them really good value for the money. I wear them for 12 to 14 hours a day and i don't notice I have got them on. I have been to your shop/factory up there in Richmond. I was impressed by the fact that the person who helped me to pick a pair of boot was not salesman( one of the guys who actually made the boots). I am now on my fourth pair:)

I wanted to take time making a pair for myself... But I found a pair of '' defender'' on E Bay! I am in love with those boots, and secure! Good job, Master
I have a pair of Sneeker boots that are about 10 years old, I have had them resoled (once) I have stood in the Thames in them (on an emergency call) and walked out with dry feet. (they are not the Aqua, waterproof ones.) amazing boots! Thank you.
I'd never heard of Altberg boots before, until I was searching online for a new pair of boots, I was looking for a good looking but sturdy boot just for casual everyday use, so I settled for the Altberg desert tabbing boot in beige, I only ordered them yesterday and looking forward to them being delivered, and going on my searches into Altberg boots, I don't think I'm going to be disappointed
I have a pair of Roadrunner motorbike boots - they're absolutely brilliant. Comfortable, waterproof and built to the highest protective standard. Keep on making your fantastic boots.
I'm about a year into my first altbergs. They are the best and I've tried them all (lowa, hanwag, danner, etc.). If you're in a combat trade in the military, these are the boots you want. You can order an X-Wide version custom if you just go to their website. I often have difficulty finding wide boots and their A-Forme Extra Wides fit well. It was recommended to by via word of mouth by my buddy who's a sniper w/ the PPCLI in Canada. If you have a trade where you live in your boots, these are the ones you want.
In Canada, the weather is a real treat for our feet. So I've been looking for an all-around winter/summer boot for my military needs. When I heard that the Altberg defender were made of Anfibio leather, it made my choice clear. Anfibio leather has been invented in Quebec with the main purpose of protecting your feet from canadian winters. I absolutely love those boots. They sure take a long time to break-in, but once it's done they will last you for a decade. I just wish more models would be available in Canada starting with the tabbing boot.
I really love your A-last (I own a pair of Nordkap). Finally, my toes have space. It perfectly combines the fit similiar to my Salomon shoes and the quality of my HanWag boots.

I have had a couple of pairs of motorcycle boots, and have a pair of walking boots. One thing I can tell you, they ALWAYS fit perfectly and are wonderfully comfortable. I really won't ever buy another brand
Large batch orders are made in there factory in Italy. But they use identical equipment and quality. All boots are hand made and designed in the Yorkshire if they are special order etc. The large batches are for the military and police etc.
Given that you have made a lot of money from soldiers who buy your expensive boots, you are one of the few businesses that has not provided any discounts to HM Forces (see Blue Light discounts) Why is that? If you truly care for those who have made sacrifices for this country, those who serve and essentially those who have run your business by buying your products, a small way to recognise this is to offer a discount to serving personnel. Yet you have not done so in any form!!
And what about care workers? Teachers? Do you not think those people make a difference in our society? Do they deserve a a discount? Care workers get less pay etc. Admire the quality and pay the price to the crafts people who keep making this great product
When you make boots specifically for the military and ES it’s not much point in discounting to the military and ES. The boots are already fantastic value and they pay a decent wage to keep manufacturing in this country.
