Thank you! You've inspired me to start dedicating time and energy into learning multiple languages. This year I'm going to concentrate on learning Spanish, as my family's from Mexico, as well as my husband. Next year, I'm going to aim to learn Navajo. It's the most spoken dialect of Native Americans, and I believe it's an American heritage that shouldn't be forgotten. Plus, it's very beautiful to listen to.
I study French and Spanish at the same time and it is pretty difficult so I would definitely agree with learning 2 languages from different language families. I study French and Spanish at uni and unfortunately my uni does not offer any other languages apart from them two. But I do love learning languages so I don't get too down about it. I make yt videos in Spanish and about learning languages too , love your channel :))
Umber I agree learning german when i was in high school was very difficult. I’m going to learn spanish first since I have a lot more spanish cultures around me where I can use my skills.

I've always wanted to learn more languages, multiple at once, but didnt know if it was productive, so thank you for sharing your life and language learning tricks and inspiring me! I always thought it was much harder than it is but it will always sort itself out if you make mistakes with grammar and things once you start using it. I just started learning Swedish and after I want to start learnig Arabic! I'm going to use your tip of sticking to one specific topic. Imagine how many people you are encouraging to start learning a new language or several and then that leads to having more opportunities in life to traveling, making new friends, moving house, work, foods and learn a whole lot in general. And I think it improves the quality of life for a lot of reasons! So amazing!!! You speak so many languages but I find it hard to remember some words after not using them for long period of time, and I was wondering how you stay so fluent without losing or forgetting. Speaking, speaking and speaking :) honestly that's all I do. Unless you don't speak and apply what you learned it's not going to have any use. Once you start applying everything it will make more sense and you won't forget words that easily because they are put in a context. There is no magic to it, that's really all I do.

German and Japanese are exactly what I want to study! I've been working on Japanese for about a year now, and feeling like I'm losing more and more of my very rusty German in exchange for improving in Japanese. I clicked on this video wondering what you'd have to say since I've been thinking about going back to studying German at the same time as well. Funny that your example languages are the ones I'm interested in, haha. I'll take that as a sign!
I learn French and Spanish at school plus I learn Mandarin at home. I'm gonna learn Portuguese when I'm fluent in Spanish but I watch a lot of Portuguese videos so I'm pretty good understanding it. Also I'm gonna improve my Turkish because I already know a little bit. (Btw I also grew up being trilingual just like you)
I am learning Spanish, German, and Swahili along with American Sign Language. I was told to learn languages that were similar but I didn’t even try because I KNOW is get confused. The vocabulary is soooooo different and it gives them their own identity and a different learning experience
Thank you so much for the video. I learned a lot, I am learning Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese. For a while now I was juggling with learning both languages at the same time but after watching your video I am confident now that I can do this. Thank you , Obrigada ありがとうございます!
Honestly I got randomly motivated to learn Japanese, German and Russian yet in school I’m learning Spanish and soon enough I’ll be taking a French class in the third quarter as I got into the class due to my aspiring career (I’m still surprised I got in it’s only for seniors yet I got in as a junior)
Thanks very much for your tips because I'm learning French, Spanish and German at once. I'll try my best to follow the tips so that I'd know if they'd help me.
I'm learning Arabic and french! Those are my favorite languages❤ and fortunately I'm really good speaking both of them❤ People tell me that I speak like a native lol! I practice these languages with my fiance who is Arabic and also in his country french is spoken.
I’m currently trying to learn Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin) I’m trying to come up with a study routine to best study both at the same time. In your personal opinion, which of these languages (Spanish, Chinese) would you focus on most of you were learning one at a time?
I learn Dutch and French mainly on duolingo and by watching some things in these languages. They're quite differrent but I find that the more you split them apart, the less confusing it gets. If I constantly switch between them I learn less, I'm not confusing them since they're different but I don't see a big progress in such case. If I however learn one in the morning before uni class and one in the afternoon or evening it's easier and more clear to me. You could also I guess learn a solid base in one and then switch to another while not forgetting completely about the first one by practicing sometimes.
@Profit Tracker Well I'm learning French quite hard, I had a long break since that comment lol. But I study french every day for half a year now and I'm probably at b1 level. As for dutch I study it much less frequently but it's pretty easy to learn since it's so similar to english. French has many words that are present in english but different gramma and pronunciation is pretty hard but overall it's pleasant to learn
I'm gonna learn Mandarin Chinese and Russian. I'll throw Mongolian in there too, I already have experience in Russian but also a little bit in Mongolian. Wish me luck folks :)
I want to learn: Mandarin Korean and Japanese But i have to learn my mother language: Kurdish Turkish And even for school I should continue learning: English German
i’m focusing on learning japanese (as i plan on moving to japan) but korean is the second language i’m learning. i’m planning on doing maybe an hour or so of korean a day and doing two or three hours a day of japanese (as i’m homeschooled and have a ton of time)
I am currently learning Spanish, Arabic, German and Japanese. Its easier because to learn these because none of these languages are in the same family. I tried to learn French but ITS way too similar in Spanish. Once I Master fluency in Spanish then I'll study French. Learning 4 languages NOT in the same language family makes a big difference
i kinda differ, I think it's best (at least for me) to focus on different topics when studying multiple languages at once. Like in Japanese I'm learning house vocabulary, then in German I'm learning city vocabulary, bc otherwise my brain starts switching between languages to find the word it already knows instead of focusing on the target language. Does that make sense? Haha. Eventually I do have to cover similar topics but after I get the hang of each language, my brain doesn't try to switch as much
The problem is,that I want to learn many asian languages and I have to learn Russian for school...the other languages I want to learn are Thai,Korean, Mandarin and Japanese..I want to start with Thai and Russian do you guys think that it's possible and also how I can learn the other languages?
For those who are trying to learn any language efficiently ( especially spanish or german) try an application called mondly(It's free & availaible on the app store) and it gives you a lesson daily .
Learning French and Mandarin Chinese. I have about a year and half put into French and about a year in Chinese, regardless my listening French is terrible :( Does anyone know of some shows I can watch? Some music I can listen to? I'm dying to become fluent in French ASAP. I'm being patient with Chinese since it's a little more difficult of a language...
I have been learning english and latin for a quite a while now. When I began to take spanish lessons at school too latin helped me a lot. But when I got a teacher who wanted us to speak spanish on a higher level than just doing this small talk and I put more effort into that, it felt like my english and my translation skills in latin weren't as good as before which really shocked me. :( Is there someone feeling the same?
That depends on what you have to translate. Small talk is elementary. Academic work is more advanced, which means your brain requires more effort and brainpower. For me, it is quite hard to translate from one language to another language. Translation skills are beyond to speak two languages fluently. Being bilingual in two languages is just the beginning of your journey to translate from one language to another language. One language is quite complicated. I speak 6 Tongues to a certain extent. If I have to translate them, I'll fail. If I have to hold a conversation, I will succeed. If I have to give a speech about a complex topic: Robots, diet, how does the education system work? How to deal with toxic people, I might be able to do that.
Thanks for the video, it is so helpful! I'm learning Spanish and Turkish at the same time cause i like both and i couldn't choose which one i start with.

(Btw I also grew up being trilingual just like you)
I’m going to learn Spanish and Persian and practice Turkish
You inspired me thanks 💕💕😍
I can help you with your Spanish
I am learning Spanish, German, and Swahili along with American Sign Language. I was told to learn languages that were similar but I didn’t even try because I KNOW is get confused. The vocabulary is soooooo different and it gives them their own identity and a different learning experience
Thank you so much for the video. I learned a lot, I am learning Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese. For a while now I was juggling with learning both languages at the same time but after watching your video I am confident now that I can do this. Thank you , Obrigada ありがとうございます!
very logical and most helpful.
I practice these languages with my fiance who is Arabic and also in his country french is spoken.
i really like all of your hairstyles, but THIS one is superior omg you look extremely beautiful
I’m currently trying to learn Spanish and Chinese (Mandarin) I’m trying to come up with a study routine to best study both at the same time. In your personal opinion, which of these languages (Spanish, Chinese) would you focus on most of you were learning one at a time?
Podrías hacer un video sobre películas/series para practicar cada idioma que sabes? Porque quiero practicar mi portugués y alemán pero no sé con qué
Thank you so much ☺🌹
Me learning spanish and Igbo :) please keep me motivated! :D
Can you give books or suggest tips for spanish?
Your hair😍😍😍😍 obrigada pelo vídeo! Eres una inspiracion!
Currently I’m trying to learn Spanish and Japanese from Duolingo and communication through language exchange.
I can speak German English Russian and now I’m learning Korean :D
Im currently taking French in schools and am also picking up Spanish on a cyber course 😁
I'm gonna learn Mandarin Chinese and Russian. I'll throw Mongolian in there too, I already have experience in Russian but also a little bit in Mongolian. Wish me luck folks :)
Thank you, so I think I have to wait to learn more Italian because I have Spanish at school now 😅
But I can learn Greek for my next holiday :)
I want to learn:
Mandarin Korean and Japanese
But i have to learn my mother language:
Kurdish Turkish
And even for school I should continue learning:
English German
I’m learning English and Italian
i’m focusing on learning japanese (as i plan on moving to japan) but korean is the second language i’m learning. i’m planning on doing maybe an hour or so of korean a day and doing two or three hours a day of japanese (as i’m homeschooled and have a ton of time)
My level in Spanish is B1.3
Can I start learn french now ?
And if yes ...what do u think it's better to learn french from english or Spanish
I am currently learning Spanish, Arabic, German and Japanese. Its easier because to learn these because none of these languages are in the same family. I tried to learn French but ITS way too similar in Spanish. Once I Master fluency in Spanish then I'll study French. Learning 4 languages NOT in the same language family makes a big difference
i'm learning russian and japanese :)
i kinda differ, I think it's best (at least for me) to focus on different topics when studying multiple languages at once.
I'm studying Japanese and French at the moment. Next, I want to learn Latin and Mandarin or Korean
Thank you for this great tips!!
I speak 6
Tongues to a certain extent.
Very helpful! I’m currently on year 4 studying French and I’m beginning to learn Russian :)
Thank you, glad the video helped;)
I’m learning Turkish and I find it Challenging but my interest is big so I hope I don’t give up. I’m fluent in Spanish and English.
At about intermediate level Swahili.. Gonna start Korean 😎😅
Thank you sooo much for your advice!!!
