My tip is to speak with your own self (when you are home alone fe) that's how I learned English (I'm Russian). When you speak even with yourself, you really get used to the language you learn like you start to think faster, notice your own mistakes, correct them and learn. If you are a bit ashamed to speak with yourself, speak with your cat or dog or Smth 😄
I always do this with english and I'm pretty fluent with 17.. I always felt kinda crazy while talking to myself but now that I saw your comment I think thats.. normal? 😂
I don't understand how someone could give you a thumbs down 😕 maybe they're jealous. Speaking all those languages and your pretty too 😀 That's too much to handle for some. I think your talented, smart, gorgeous and beautiful ☺
Those are the jealous and selfish who do not want to see others' success. No encouragement from such - it's an index of who they are not who this young girl is.
Actually, I think you don't need to learn that much grammar. When little kids learn their mother tongue, they don't learn grammar, they just listen and notice patterns and reproduce them. Like most people, I think learning grammar is boring, so you should do it a little at the beginning, but you should not only do that. Only learning grammar at the beginning could discourage some people. I prefer to listen to a lot of stuff in my target language, and search for grammar explanation when I don't understand some rule. Most of the rules can be learned intuitively. The rest of the tips are great!
I agree with you, I didn't do tha either. Little kids obviusly observe and reproduce as I also said in the video, but the difference is they're surrounded by those languages patterns every day. But as an adult often times when you are learning a language you are not immediately fully immersed in that language. That's why I think it's good to get a little grammar base to understand and built upon language patterns that you will hear later. I actually never speny my whole time learning grammar when I studied a language, my method is more listening and reproducing as I also mentionned. +M Deroin
Adults cannot absorb language in the same way that kids do. But I agree that if you can go to a country and immerse yourself in that country and culture, even as an adult you would learn much more quickly.
I've been in Germany for a year + , really had to learn German fast because I was also in school. Was really difficult, but I would say don't worry, take it easy , you'll be surprised how your brain will take in this words and gradually you find yourself understanding and speaking German. For German grammar I'll say take it easy . Honestly it's also difficult for some of my Germans friends. Viel Erfolg Leute.
you should create your own online course, I would love to have you as a teacher, you really seem to understand the foundations of learning a new language. You really are right about music, it's not only one of the most complete tools to learning new vocabulary but it's also a perfect combination of learning and playing at the same time, plus the phrases stay in your mind because you start singing the songs all the time.
These are the best tips to learn any language. I learned basic English grammar in school (Spanish is my fist language), and you're right grammar is the foundation to learn any language. I learned a lot just by reading and listening to music, audiobooks are also very helpful to improve listening and therefore, speaking skills. Now I want to learn French, so I'm going to go ahead and get myself a French grammar book. 🤓
Completamente de acuerdo, me pasó lo mismo, diría que llegué a nivel básico en la escuela y a partir de ahí adquirí vocabulario de series, música, libros, etc. Mucha suerte con tu francés :)
Dionne Irwin It's going well. I am still learning the basics and struggle with the pronunciation of the words. But I'll get through it. Thanks for asking. 🙂
Jill Litwin, hello :-) Russian language is my native language, and I want to improve my English. So we can chat, and I hope to help you with your Russian learning. 😉👍
Some tips that i think are very good are fx reading children's books. They tend to be somewhat repetitive and in a simple language. Also, watching movies. If you are learning Spanish, watch a Spanish movie with Spanish subtitles, that way you'll get it through your eyes and ears :) And one thing i also did, was I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in German, and I basically know it by heart in English, so that way, I already knew what they were saying. The same with books. I've read the first Harry Potter book multiple times, so I bought it in German, and instead of having a dictionary by my side, I just used the HP book in a language I am fluent in :)
She's THE BEST language teacher I've come across. REALLY! I've studied several languages over the decades and I can "confirm" she's SO RIGHT. BRAVO! :D
This video was so inspiring. I've been wanting to dust off my rusty Spanish lately. I was told that my Spanish was good so often when I was learning, that I basically stopped speaking out of fear of making a mistake. I'm gonna let go of the fear and make many mistakes. 😊
Hi, I'm Nisa...I am a native English speaker and have been learning Spanish...just recently started feeling comfortable speaking Spanish out loud with people. I can read and understand it pretty well though!
Would you be able to do playlists for the music in the languages? For example, a playlist of the spanish music that helped you in your learning process? That would be so helpful!
Hello. Do you want to Learn or improve your Spanish?. I can help you and each other can practice. My native language is Spanish and I speak English and I'm learning português
Usually I like to learn the alphabet first then learn the basics and from there grammar. Currently learning Japanese. I know quite a bit of Romanian, but am not fluent.
you should definitely check out the language learning app Mirai Japanese! :) They teach you in lessons starting with the most basic sentence structures, and just builds from there, also introducing new vocabularies in each lesson. Highly recommended!
Thank you so much... these tips are extremely helpful. I’m currently learning German and I do practice a lot of the tips you mentioned, except.... the speaking lol. When I’m in Germany I speak it a little more even though I’m sometimes shy to do so, but as soon as I’m back home I almost speak no word in German unless I’m forced to do so by my loved ones in Germany. I do watch movies & use self study books. I will take your tips seriously and try to listen to more music in German as well as speaking it everyday.
Hoy por primera vez he visto tus videos, y me encantaron porque estoy aprendiendo Inglés y los tips que diste yo los aplico también!! Al igual que a vos las peliculas, series y canciones hicieron que aprendiera muchisimo! You're an inspiration =) Congrats from Argentina!!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm brazilian and I'm trying to learn korean by myself (so hard omg). Boa sorte estudando português, você vai conseguir! 💙
Watching movies in the language you're interested in --genius. I have a short attention span, but I've watched three videos yours already, back to back. Keep up the great work. You're amazing!
i recognized a lot of accents as you were speaking and i have to say the blend is awesome. your tips are really helpful. i am currently studying Spanish and i hope it goes well for me.
God must have put this video in my feed for a reason because I've been trying to learn Spanish for 30 years and I fall short all the time. I just signed up for conversational Spanish lessons and I'm determined to achieve fluency. Thank you for the tip.
J'adore tes conseilles!! Ils sont précis, intelligents et éclairé.... et je penses que tu as tout a fait raison quand à faire des erreurs pour apprendre. C'est exactement comme ça que notre cerveau fonctionne et avance, avec les erreurs... Bravo! merci pour cette video
* I apologize in advance for the long comment* I have been trying to just learn Spanish for a while and I can not stress enough how important the speaking bit is! I have spent thousands of dollars and many semesters of my time at university and still have not gotten to where I consider myself fluent. I recently started working at a Cuban restaurant and I have a coworker who is a bit more social than I am who has never taken a Spanish class. She has been working there for around the same amount of time as I have and her Spanish has advanced much much much faster than mine to the point that she is able to speak to and understand our Spanish speaking clients and coworkers a little better than I. So speaking is DEFINITELY an important aspect to improving your skills in your target language. I also have a few other tips I think might be useful! I majored in psychology at my university and have also been very interested in the psychology of multilingualism and learning a second or multiple language. I even wrote my senior seminar paper over this topic. From what I have learned through my research for that paper was that there are a few things to keep in mind when learning a new language. In addition to the advice she has given, consistency is also key to improving a language. Watching a movie occasionally or looking at a text book every so often will not help. It’s best to try and include the target language in your everyday life or as often as you can like maybe turning your social media into your target language or finding things online to read in Spanish. Another tip is when practicing your target language make it relatable to you and things that are important to you. For example talk or write about your favorite things, your family, or your significant other or things that make you emotional (whether it’s happy or Sad) because you can remember certain things better that are connected to some sort of strong emotion. You could also see if your favorite tv shows have the option to switch it to your target language. If your are interested in it then your will pay or attention to it and will most likely retain more! I have some other tips for various other factors in learning a language but this comment is too long as it is. Also I would like to say that these tips might not work out for everyone they are just what I realized helped me in my language journey.
Thanks. Interestingly, it was when I started reading your comment that I realized I had an eye problem. The write-up got blurred. May be your essay was a good test for my eye. I've since seen an eye specialist and now using lenses so I am fine now.😊 In my case, my company paid $3500 (100 hours) for me to be taught french in my office but after 40 hours, it was clear to me I needed to take my destiny into my own hands else the company will be disappointed. I've been making steady progress since. Self-motivation and practicing whatever you learn is indeed key. My next step will be to get permission from my wife and get a french girlfriend. lol
I definitely recommend the watching movies thing - it helped me a lot with French - I think when you're starting out maybe try a movie you know well so you'll understand what's going on a bit more and that'll make you feel more comfortable and confident
Hey! :)
My english teacher recomended to wach children's shows with subtitles since they usually use more basic words and they speak slowly....and so i did, and I learned!!. Also what you said....listening to music is key!!
Wow, I am spanish and I have understood all this video, you pronnounce very well, I understand you better than a native like Adele, stand by this way because you are pretty amazing and talented
camila,zoé,café tacuva, enanitos verdes, jesse y joy are pretty good but then you have rancheras by vicente fernandez (chente) or pedro infante, bachata music by prince royce, aventura, romeo santos, are what i can think from the top of my head. ..just check them out and see what you like they are all music n spanish but different styles.
Elliphant I'll suggest telenovelas. The Mexican ones try to have the actors speak clearly. Also the acting could be over-dramatic at times too which also help with understanding the dialogue. There's usually always a couple playing on your local Telemundo if you're in the US.
Elliphant I recommend you Los Mesoneros, Viniloversus, Caramelos de Cianuro, Soda Estéreo, Americania, La Vida Boheme and there are a lot more. You could watch Las Chicas del Cable, it's a TV show that recently came out!
Jane the virgin, Frida. Que culpa tiene el niño, no se aceptan devoluciones (those are movies and a tv show) and about music I really like listening to Morat, Jesse y Joy, Camila, caifanes, reik (you can find a lot of playlist with songs in Spanish on Spotify!)
These are great tips! I've looked up a lot of RUclips videos on how to learn languages and your tips are similar to what others have said. Learn the grammar, speak it whenever you can, listen to music, watch TV or films with subtitles, and another thing I've heard is to listen to podcasts. So last month I went on a trip to France and I absolutely fell in love with it! Two weeks ago I decided to start learning so I'm going to try learning it on my own. For French the podcasts "coffee break French" and "news in slow french" have been useful. Basically what I've found others say is the key to learning is to substitute the language you are trying to learn into things you would already do. If you listen to music on your commute, change it to French music. If you spend time watching TV at home, change your language to French with subtitles. If you like to watch RUclips, start listening to French RUclipsrs. The only problem is I don't know who I can speak French with. Any tips on how to find others to speak with? And anyone here know of a good French grammar book? I also do 15 minutes a day of Duolingo
Patricia Chloé Thank you for trying to learn portuguese 😍 I am portuguese and if you want to listen to a portuguese song you should listen to "Amar pelos dois" by Salvador Sobral. This is the song that won Eurovision 2017.I'm not recommending this song because we won the competition but because the song is beautiful and it really shows what Portugal is made of:love, simplicity, talent, passion and true raw emotions. ☺
Patricia Chloé You should probably focus on just one language Im not saying its impossible but it does make it harder and you could possibly mix words up
Iconic GamerNaz Lol! It's not that am learning Portuguese from scratch. First of all, I learn languages very easily, especially roman languages because I speak french already and I have a very strong vocabulary/knowledge in Latin as well, so I even though I have never learned Italian or Spanish, I can understand at least 50% of the conversation in both languages. I have been living in a Portuguese speaking household from time to time so I basically understand everything, it's just want to learn the grammar & how to talk so I can go and visit my motherland. Japanese is what I am actually really learning right now. I hope now everyone has a better understanding why I am learning these 2 languages at the same time.
My 6 year old nephew LOVES language. He has gained family from everywhere! We live in California so he has tetes and uncles and nanas who speak Spanish, Tagalog, English, etc. He is starting first grade in a school with an English/Spanish dual immersion program. I am an ESL teacher for Chinese children and I am strongly considering enrolling him in a Mandarin online tutoring program as well. This is awesome! I believe he will grow up to be fluent in about 6 different languages.
This has totally inspired me to kick up my game with Spanish. I actually loved it at university, but when I stopped taking Spanish classes, I lost most of what I learned. Now I use Duolingo, which is good, but not stimulating in the right ways. So thank you :D
these tips seem like they'll help alot! I'm planning on teaching myself to speak French, maybe you could do a video about like basic grammar, or maybe even a series of learning french. Obviously you don't have to, just a thought I had. :)
At 11:20 into the video, you said that people need to speak and learn from mistakes. This is what I tell my students. Like you said, watching (DVD) movies with subtitles will help along with learning the grammar. I hadn't thought of listening music. Thank you for your encouraging and informative videos.
1-3 hours a day for anything is enough to learn, just be consistent and the results are sure to come. Also surrond yourself with ppl who want to learn or already know what you want to learn
Eu sou brasileira, aprendi inglês e ainda estou melhorando ele. Decidi que quero viajar para o Canadá e quero aprender francês também... estou assistindo suas dicas e CARAAA VOCÊ MANDA MUITO BEM, MEUS PARABÉNS❤❤❤
Tusen takk, merci beaucoup, mil gracias, thanks so much. Tip #1 Listen to audio books whilie simultaneously reading along, then go back and read the text aloud to yourself
I love your videos! To this day I have learned and currently speak: Spanish (first/native language), English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Norwegian, and a little bit of Arabic. Culture and languages are amazing and beautiful all around the world! :)
My problem is learning.. I notice I can understand but I can't speak... when I hear someone talk I can understand most of what they say but can't remember any words when I want to speak... also love this video because I didn't know if I should buy this television channel that only shows shows in the language I want to learn. But after watching this I will definitely buy the app
thats me but with my country's mother tongue. whenever people speak it i know what they're saying but i can't reply in the language. the thing is, my mother said i spoke it fluently when i was really young but now i dont remember how. :/
aveatquevale yeah I wonder why we have this issue... it's like I can't form the sentence in my head or convert my English to the language but can convert the language to English... so weird ugh.. guess I'll keep trying. What's language can you speak?
Icanhavethemall just practice a lot, it's usually only like that in the beginning, once you get used to French, you won't really have that problem anymore
hey, I know this problem... Since I am a visual learner and always have to see how the word looks instead of hearing, I like to work with color. So for spanish for example, the text book was red and so this language for me is "red". I also try to have a red notebook or write vocabulary in red. Then, when I need spanish and other languages come to my mind, I try to think of red to trigger the right parts of my memory. Don't know if this makes sense to you? If you are more an auditory learner, you might combine each language with a different tone, so speaking higher or lower, or try listening to more males or females, and when you think of the french word, remember the greek tone and your brain will hopefully find the greek word for the french one^^ If you notice specific words that you mix up, learn them together/contrast them with each other. As we humans learn a lot from mistakes, try analyzing which mistakes/mix-ups you make and correct yourself to help your brain remember :)
Glad to hear someone emphasizing grammar and book learning. It's like every expert out there thinks it's beneath them to mention it. A lot of us would love to learn several languages but unless we use it, just not worth the time and effort. Fortunately, the internet offers new opportunities.
Great video! Admiro muito o teu interesse e amor por aprender línguas😄. I'm also very interested in languages. Although I only speak portuguese (my native language) and english, I am starting to learn mandarin. From one of your videos, I saw that you also speak chinese so I'd like to know if you suggest any grammar textbook for beginners. Obrigada por partilhares os teus conselhos, vão de certo ajudar-me bastante😉.
For me I really enjoy watching RUclips videos of many different kinds so I can broaden my vocabulary. Another thing I really liked out of what you said was: Not being affraid of going out and talking to natives. In fact this was something I still do up to now. As soon as I see an opportunity I try to engage on a conversation. whether it be Spanish, English, even French which I'm not super trained at... Well, I mean, talking to people is also a way to learn. Congrats! I love your channel! I will be sharing with friends.
+RickboyH that's true sometimes but often there is more than one local language in some countries so a language like French or English is useful because you can communicate with anyone, no matter their local language.
+RickyboyH That wouldn't be as useful as the chances of you remaining in that area all the time is very slim. If you were to learn French in Senegal for example, it would be much more useful and is spoken in many other countries.
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm French, I learn Japanese and Russian, tes conseils et ton parcours me motivent encore plus! I'm now certain I am able to learn these languages, even if they can be difficult.
When watching telenovelas in the beginning, did it all run together? I watch them but can only make out bits and pieces and I wonder if I need to focus on one regions dialect or just try to learn to listen to everyone at once.
It's normal at the beginning, if you continue to watch it every week/day it will get better naturally . You can incorporate the language more into your everyday life, change your phone language for example
which language are you learning? I am currently using edX to learn italian, the videos have transcripts and translations, and you can speed up or slow down the videos, they also have podcasts. Not sure if there's also french, but I've seen they also have courses in portuguese
I am so proud of you! I'm a language lover as well, but unlike you, I only speak Spanish, English. & French, (also, a little Italian is in progress). I'm a language teacher and your advise is exactly what I preach to my students. I am concern, however, whenever I go to language teachers conferences because black teachers are a very few and far in between, and I wonder if black people don't believe in learning this wonderful skill. I am happy to see a beautiful and powerful young black woman representing. Continue spreading the word that this is a skill that everybody can acquire. Thank you!
Music keepmy motivation up. The more I learn Spanish the more I understand reggaeton tunes which keeps me excited. Super video and thank you. I too know quite a few languages but Spanish is my current language
Wow, I think you are my linguistic twin! All your tips and foundations are exactly what I believe and how I learned my foreign languages. You actually speak all my languages. My undergraduate degree was in mathematics. So structure and abstraction are very second nature to me. I also knew that grammar is not going anywhere. So, the only way to really conquer a language is to confront the grammar on the battle field. I have found music and television to be highly effective means to acquire skills almost subconsciously. I did as you mentioned and would watch movies in my native language but activate the subtitles in the language I was studying. It was a great means to see the language used in context and to acquire new vocabulary almost effortlessly. It was so much better than trying to learn vocabulary from a list. Music was again a wonderful means to learn structures contextually and further acquire vocabulary almost effortlessly, and learning lyrics is so much easier than learning vocabulary. Music just makes language learning more fun than it already is. I had one technique that I call "Drill to kill." I found many students would study a particular structure and then learn it well enough to take an exam but then would lose it or forget it soon thereafter. So, when I studied I always emphasized being able to identify the structure in question in one's native language so that I would be aware of when to use it in the foreign language. Once I was comfortable with being able to identify the structure in questions really well, I would spend all day using that ONE structure in my head through out the entire day. I would use the structure when I saw or heard anything. I would think of an example sentence and pop it out. Once I was successful with one sentence, I would complicate the sentence that I just formulated. I would then use that same sentence in the perfective tenses, then in the subjunctive mood with it tenses. I would then use it in the passive voice and then the passive voice with a modal verb... I would simply continue to escalate the difficulty. By the end of a single day, I literally killed all my difficulties with that one structure. You would think that did not amount to much, but at the end of academic year, my speaking ability was excellent. I had great fluency and high accuracy. Because I had those structure so well integrated in my daily usage, I could focus on other aspects of second language acquisition. I was definitely never scared to make mistakes, and I loved imitating people with their accents. I think the pronunciation. My attitude was make your mistakes now so that you can speak exceedingly well very soon. I have a couple more tips, but I need to cut this short. I always believed that you you need to have verbal forms memorized to the point at which you can recite all the verb forms with their associated pronouns in less than two seconds. It is a sure way to increase your oral comprehension, your fluency and accuracy. Plus, I always think verbal errors are among the worst errors. Shoot, one other point about actually learning grammar: If you take it upon yourself to actually learn grammatical concepts, it makes it far easier to learn another language because you have already learned what the concept is. Now, it simply becomes a matter of learning the correct forms, practicing pronunciation and building speed and accuracy.
Luna Showalter if you like rap, you should listen to Nekfeu, he has a great vocabulary even if he's sometimes a little vulgar, if you listen to pop or something like that, listen to Vianney, his songs are pretty good
I'm Chinese and speak English as well, now I'm learning Spanish and I feel like I rly relate to what ur saying! I definitely think it's super helpful if u keep making these videos, subscribed!
Yes you've lost some of your Ghana accent . Good video . I'm familiar with several languages Russian , German and Spanish . I work with Mexican's all day . Sometimes it's difficult combining languages and understanding but they help me get their lingo .
That's hard because many germans only listen to english/international music. But there are still many popular artists Idk if you like rap music but I recommend sierra kidd, raf camora, ufo361.. some other musicians of other genres are Rammstein, Mark Forster, Silbermond, Xavier Naidoo, Tim Bendzko, Nena.
A lot of popular films from hollywood are in german. Of course it's not as authentic as with the original english voices but it might help. Also Harry Potter might help because the german voice actors aren't too bad in my opinion x)
Great tips!! I am learning French, and just a tip and you can do this with any language. When you watch any movie, especially Hollywood ones in English, you can download subtitles in whatever language you wish, just Google the ".SRT" file and then import it into your video player on your PC. For example you can get French subtitles playing whilst watching Avengers, and now for every English sentence uttered, you get the French equivalent written on screen!
@Urban Eve i learned portuguese three yrs ago by singing a garota de ipanema i learned it when i was 61 yrs old also songs as;" flor de lis" "concorvado" " eu sei que vou te amar" "chega de saudade" & many more sang by talentes singers & musicians ! Youre absolutely right when you say one learns to speak a language by imitating native speakers the way children do learn also by making mistakes i have improve my french although french is not a phonetic like my native spanish is more nasal & usually the complexities of grammar makes it more compliquated to pronounce like le garcon ,des garcons, la fille les filles, & other words, & the genders male & female, but if you are passionate & motivaded to learn one can do it it takes time , discipline & effort, eventually you get to reach certain plateau where you are able to communicate , the # one key is INTERACTION now tjat iam retired im trying to go to college & university to improve my french & my portuguese, but family issues have to be taken care of First youre not only intelligent , but very beautiful young lady, God Bless you & good luck always!!!
Great video ! Another thing I wanted to add as you speak a lot about how children learn their native language, is that a thing they often do is repeating any new word they discover. So a great way to remember vocabulary is to use it the most you can, try to put it in your next conversations, and if you can't, try to write down a few sentences using that word to see it in context and to practice your use of it. Thank you for all those tips!
Yes, that's another great tip I used myself! Writing everything down and then applying it makes things so much easier to remember. Thanks for watching!
I am so stunned by your capability😃😄. I am currently learning Ukrainian language and I keep telling my self it's supper hard. after watching a few videos of you now I am positive and so encouraged to learn...thanks 👌👌👍👍
My offer extends to you as well Clarke :) and it wasn't half bad, I understood what you meant. If I may, it's on the verbs you've gotten it a bit off, the right sentence would be "Si necesitas alguien que te enseñe inglés, puedo ayudarte si me ayudas con mi español"
I also learned a lot of my Japanese and Korean from songs and movies! I learned to basics first and then I started picking up words from songs and then recognized those words when friends spoke to me or I heard them in movies ! :) And when I stop speaking a language I forget it so easily, so you should keep using it!
what a great video! I need to practice your tips and let the shame of speaking go because I care about what people think when I speak English. I'm Brazilian, from a city where just few people speak English and when I speak in a place such as in a supermarket or at a bus stop with my teacher or with a friend, people usually look at me as if I were strange because they can't understand and I feel very uncomftarble. I need to stop caring about it.
I'm currently learning polish because my boyfriend is from there and I'm so motivated to be fluent but it's supposed to be one of the hardest languages! anyone recommend any good polish tv shows or singers?
Julia dziękuję bardzo dziewczyna! Tak, i already knew a lot of vocabulary because I have do nich motivation to learn but only recently I've just made a Netflix account so I can watch cartoons with polish dub it's been amazing! watching currently watching magiczny autobus And Świnka pęppa hahaha its realny helping though! dziękuję za the artists i will listen to Them:D skąd jesteś z Polska kochana?
I watch your videos to listening the english pronunciation and then I feel safe to pronounce by myself! Thank you, I love this kind of videos.. Greetings from Argentina! ♡

girl you could make some good money tutoring people and it would also keep all your languages fresh
I did tutor when I was in Uni. But I keep my languages fresh by speaking with friends. I'm lucky to have friends from all over :)
girl you better make that coin. i agree with @dominique007
My tip is to speak with your own self (when you are home alone fe) that's how I learned English (I'm Russian). I mean the age sksksk
Me too, that’s how I got my Spanish to be fluent after two years of studying at highschool
ı really agree with you! ı learn English with this method. And ı will learn German and Spanish! Wish me luck !!
@la mamie. I was talking back to the tv a lot, reading a lot n checking the dictionary.
I don't understand how someone could give you a thumbs down 😕
maybe they're jealous. Speaking all those languages and your pretty too 😀 That's too much to handle for some. I think your talented, smart, gorgeous and beautiful ☺
they probably have better tips how to learn a new language (but I doubt that they know 8 languages)
Josephina Simwa true
Those are the jealous and selfish who do not want to see others' success. No encouragement from such - it's an index of who they are not who this young girl is.
I think sometimes people accidentally press the thumbs down instead of thumbs up, especially if they are on their phone.
And her sweater is soo cute🐮
I'm so obsessed!
+aww thanks so much!💚Simply Shanalee
Simply Shanalee soothing yes! I was wondering why she was so easy to listen to... that's it !
which one do you want learn first? you have to start with one!...and listen to this gal..she´s 100 percent right...
Armenian is my matertang. I lern english, german and i can good russian.
I actually never speny my whole time learning grammar when I studied a language, my method is more listening and reproducing as I also
mentionned. +M Deroin
Adults cannot absorb language in the same way that kids do. But I agree that if you can go to a country and immerse yourself in that country and culture, even as an adult you would learn much more quickly.
Base grammar
Your makeup up is on POINT!!!!

she is on point and beautiful

😄😄😄😄😄👍🏼
May I suggest something to make your channel grow. I think you should show more about your life in and around Paris
Prima 😊😊😊
you should create your own online course, I would love to have you as a teacher, you really seem to understand the foundations of learning a new language. You really are right about music, it's not only one of the most complete tools to learning new vocabulary but it's also a perfect combination of learning and playing at the same time, plus the phrases stay in your mind because you start singing the songs all the time.
That is a great idea, hope she does it!
I second this. I would definitely love her as a teacher
True.
I totally agree with you. And also when I listen to the music, I feel myself so happy and relax
Do it! Bonne chance!
Angela Soto Same! I recommend you a lot Alter Ego A1!!!
yes grammar is important! I want to learn how to form a grammatically correct sentence in Mandarin but my teacher barely taught grammar
+Hvnnvhc Check out the channel named "Yi Zhao" on RUclips. You'll learn grammar in a very fun way :)
Do you think you could do videos in French German or Spanish teaching the language. By the way ilysm ❤ your so cool !
Lolees horse I agree
great idea!
I am currently learning Russian and your channel has inspired me to not give up! Thank you
Dionne Irwin It's going well. I am still learning the basics and struggle with the pronunciation of the words. But I'll get through it. Thanks for asking. 🙂
Русский язык не такой сложный, желаю вам удачи в изучении :)
Сложный но красивы.
Ажар Кабдоллина I am trying to learn Russian! :) English is my first language
Jill Litwin, hello :-) Russian language is my native language, and I want to improve my English. So we can chat, and I hope to help you with your Russian learning. 😉👍
She's so beautiful!! I thought this was a CoverGirl ad.
Jermaine Jennings but did you read the title
Jermaine Jennings ikr
ikr yes that's very true she is very beautiful(yes ik I'm 3 years late
Wait what 😆 this was posted 4 years ago
I'm so confused with yhe title😂! I was literally like, 'She said 2021! And it's 2021 now!!'😂😂😂😅
Some tips that i think are very good are fx reading children's books.
I so love your added tips!!
Gems ❤
This is so smart!!
I'm Brazilian. I loved your videos.
obrigada!
Estou adorando seus vídeos. Parabéns!!!!!!
She's THE BEST language teacher I've come across. REALLY! I've studied several languages over the decades and I can "confirm" she's SO RIGHT. BRAVO! :D
I have to conquer my fear of trying to speak. Thank you for sharing!
Most definitely, thank you!
My eyes water in awe at such beautiful excellence.
Would you be able to do playlists for the music in the languages? For example, a playlist of the spanish music that helped you in your learning process? That would be so helpful!
Ingrid lou yes yes plz
Melody Hope I am Romanian and I try to learn Japanese :))
Melody Hope yeah I also do that and also learning Japanese :)
you should definitely check out the language learning app Mirai Japanese! :) They teach you in lessons starting with the most basic sentence structures, and just builds from there, also introducing new vocabularies in each lesson. Highly recommended!
Melody Hope I agree 👍 I find easier too tbh
You're my biggest motivation I still can't believe that someone's really able to learn more than 2 languages goals
please show us how your learning language routine is.
That is exactly how a Russian coworker of mine said that's how she learned Spanish on her own. She speaks fluently and very well. Good tips!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm brazilian and I'm trying to learn korean by myself (so hard omg).
Boa sorte estudando português, você vai conseguir! 💙
I love Portuguse
* I apologize in advance for the long comment*
I have been trying to just learn Spanish for a while and I can not stress enough how important the speaking bit is!
A polyglot, and an autodidact. Impressive and inspiring. Thank you. (Danke, merci, gracci, gracias, xiexie, obrigada)
Hey!
Giiiirl I find French grammar so difficult and I'm French ! Love your videos x
My english teacher recomended to wach children's shows with subtitles since they usually use more basic words and they speak slowly....and so i did, and I learned!!. Also what you said....listening to music is key!!
Wow, I am spanish and I have understood all this video, you pronnounce very well, I understand you better than a native like Adele, stand by this way because you are pretty amazing and talented
can you create a playlist or give movie suggestions for spanish ? :)
camila,zoé,café tacuva, enanitos verdes, jesse y joy are pretty good but then you have rancheras by vicente fernandez (chente) or pedro infante, bachata music by prince royce, aventura, romeo santos, are what i can think from the top of my head. ..just check them out and see what you like they are all music n spanish but different styles.
Elliphant @TheUrbanEve and for every language you speak, basically, 😅 Please.
Follow me on Instagram @msurbaneve on my travel adventures and see how I keep my languages fresh. This time I’m learning Arabic in Morocco!💚
TheUrbanEve welcome to Morocco 💕
Yeols__Bear thank you!
Great tips, I want to learn French...I already know some words. However, I'll apply your tips.
bienvenue au maroc
Awesome!! Share your Arabic learning tips as well plz..
I had learned a lot of French vocabulary through friends , music and tv... Now I am taking classes for the grammar.... GRAMMAR is everything...
Thank you for sharing those awesome tips 🙌🏽 I am in the process of learning portuguese and japanese!
awww thank you very much! I will listen to it 💕
Patricia Chloé You should probably focus on just one language
Im not saying its impossible but it does make it harder and you could possibly mix words up
Good luck with learning Japanese & Portuguese tho
where are you from? if you're an english native thats cool. I speak french as a native. maybe we can help eachother
At 11:20 into the video, you said that people need to speak and learn from mistakes. This is what I tell my students. Like you said, watching (DVD) movies with subtitles will help along with learning the grammar. I hadn't thought of listening music. Thank you for your encouraging and informative videos.
Thank you so much for this video. How many hours a day did you study grammar?
1-3 hours a day for anything is enough to learn, just be consistent and the results are sure to come. Also surrond yourself with ppl who want to learn or already know what you want to learn
Eu sou brasileira, aprendi inglês e ainda estou melhorando ele. Decidi que quero viajar para o Canadá e quero aprender francês também... estou assistindo suas dicas e CARAAA VOCÊ MANDA MUITO BEM, MEUS PARABÉNS❤❤❤
could you pls make videos about learning Spanish 💖💖
Audrey Collins Hi, I am native in spanish and I want to practice with native people in english.

Yes, kellyberkey85 and Instagram too :)
I just followed you on twitter check it out haha
I'm also looking for a friend to practice English with , I can help you with Spanish , that's my first language. My email is meillanes7@gmail.com
Tusen takk, merci beaucoup, mil gracias, thanks so much. Tip #1 Listen to audio books whilie simultaneously reading along, then go back and read the text aloud to yourself
how long did it take you to learn and speak fluently?
Depends on how much time and effort you put in chica!👍🏼👍🏼
What's language can you speak?
ladydede88 what app is it?
N'Yasha McAfee Tandem is the app I use and I also you the website conversation exchange dot com
ladydede88 practice reading something then commenting in the language it helps flow your convo
WOWWWWWW!!!! IMPRESSIVE!! 👍 I'm so inspired to learn Italiano as my 3rd language...can't wait!! ✌
Gleich mal Notizen gemacht 😅 Ich versuche schon seit Jahren portugiesisch zu lernen und englisch spreche ich leider auch nicht perfekt 😩
You can just SEE how passionate she is for learning languages. nǐ jìao tīancī 😱😱I LOVE bisou bisou😘😘
how do you not get confused with so many languages? when I try to speak french I can only remember greek words
Icanhavethemall Im starting to learn greek, any tips?
Icanhavethemall just practice a lot, it's usually only like that in the beginning, once you get used to French, you won't really have that problem anymore
Icanhavethemall I have this problem too. I speak Spanish and I'm trying to learn Portuguese but since they are so similar they start to get mixed up.
hey, I know this problem...
😂😂😂
This was so helpful!!!! I am moving to Senegal so I need to get my French. I think tip 2 will really help!!!
Bonjour!
I'm French and this language is kind of hard to get! Hope you get through!
Learn the local language and not the colonial one, trust me, everything will be easier.
+RickboyH that's true sometimes but often there is more than one local language in some countries so a language like French or English is useful because you can communicate with anyone, no matter their local language.
So just learn the native language of the region you're staying in then. Problem solved.
Even the subtitles are too fast sometimes.
It's best to find a Skype friend. Just post that you'd like to talk to a native of the language you want to learn on RUclips. I did it.
Also, if by any chance you are learning spanish, I can help you out, it is my native tongue
Congrats! I'm brazilian and your portuguese is awesome!
absolutely amazing very helpful
I am so proud of you! I'm a language lover as well, but unlike you, I only speak Spanish, English. & French, (also, a little Italian is in progress). I'm a language teacher and your advise is exactly what I preach to my students. I am concern, however, whenever I go to language teachers conferences because black teachers are a very few and far in between, and I wonder if black people don't believe in learning this wonderful skill. I am happy to see a beautiful and powerful young black woman representing. Continue spreading the word that this is a skill that everybody can acquire. Thank you!
Which books did you buy for Portuguese - or are there any particular ones you know of that you'd recommend? x
Thanks so much dear, I am Learning Deutsch for 5 months now but I am really enjoying it.
hey i want to start learning french but i do not know anyone that speaks french, so how can improve my speaking skills ?
Music keepmy motivation up. The more I learn Spanish the more I understand reggaeton tunes which keeps me excited. Super video and thank you. I too know quite a few languages but Spanish is my current language
This is with my Twi (Ghana) I understand perfectly but speaking it is another matter 😂
Do you have any recommendations of French artists to listen to?
SHY'M / tal / maitre gims
Luna Showalter Stromae!
Luna Showalter if you like rap, you should listen to Nekfeu, he has a great vocabulary even if he's sometimes a little vulgar, if you listen to pop or something like that, listen to Vianney, his songs are pretty good
Luna Showalter tartofraises is a French nail artist youtuber, I like listening to her!
Stromae and Indila are very popular
I'm Chinese and speak English as well, now I'm learning Spanish and I feel like I rly relate to what ur saying! I definitely think it's super helpful if u keep making these videos, subscribed!
I put my default phone language in Spanish so I can learn a lot more difficult words that are used in my social media apps and such :p
diaxbla that's actually a very good idea, I'm going to do that now 😅 Thankyou
Just did the same thing :)

katiecat thank you so much! that is really helpful - thank you for taking the time to do that!
Im so happy in watch your videos! Portuguese is my mother language and English is the second. Now I'm trying to learn Italian by myself.
Yes you've lost some of your Ghana accent . Good video . I'm familiar with several languages Russian , German and Spanish . I work with Mexican's all day . Sometimes it's difficult combining languages and understanding but they help me get their lingo .
doublejack Haroldlüke it's a German accent not *Ghanaian btw
She also is from Ghana 🇬🇭 & stated that in one of her episodes btw .
doublejack Haroldlüke she said her parents are from Ghana, she grew up in Germany.
doublejack Haroldlüke I never realised she's from Ghana at first until I read the comments.
with your video, you really achieved an exchange of the different cultures in the comment seccion and thats so awesome!
Hey do you recommend any german novels, tv series, movies and music? Btw I really like your videos, it helps a lot xx
I like Herbert Grönemeyer: watch?v=1SG5A3PYaUs
Great tips!! I am learning French, and just a tip and you can do this with any language. When you watch any movie, especially Hollywood ones in English, you can download subtitles in whatever language you wish, just Google the ".SRT" file and then import it into your video player on your PC. For example you can get French subtitles playing whilst watching Avengers, and now for every English sentence uttered, you get the French equivalent written on screen!
What do you think about learning 2 languages at once?
Cealeena Bowers You can do that, but I say get a lock down on the first language then go on to the second one.
Overload....unless they are similar like Spanish and Portuguese
How long did it take to learn Portuguese on your own, fluently?
DoctorBoogles I'm Brazilian. I can help you with portuguese If you help me with English.

On my way to finally understanding Kim Taehyung!
lol xd
HAAHAHHA I can’t 😂😂😂😂
I am so stunned by your capability😃😄. I am currently learning Ukrainian language and I keep telling my self it's supper hard. after watching a few videos of you now I am positive and so encouraged to learn...thanks 👌👌👍👍
I'm currently aprendido Espanol 😊
Hi! If you are interested in a tutor I could help you out with spanish if you help me practice my english
Si necesite alguien enseñarse ingles, puedo ayudarse si ayudame con mi espanol (sorry if that was bad)
Its Clarke Si necesita alguien que le enseñe inglés, le puedo ayudar si usted me ayuda con mi español**
Can somebody recommend me german singers?:)
tarbulolo 123 Silbermond
tarbulolo 123 Wise guys
tarbulolo 123 AnnenMayKantereit
Vincent Weiss, Sarah Connor, Alligatoah
You should listen to Mark Forster he has good songtexts and not that much of an accent which might be good for starting :-) good luck!
what a great video!
