Sorriso Colgate be careful to don’t mixed up cette and c’est. Cette is use for showing off something. Like pointing it out. For example if you wanna say ‘look at this scarf’ you’ll have to use ‘cette’. C’est is the verb ‘is’ so when you use the form ´this is’ in English, you have to use ´c’est’. Also something I’ve noticed about ppl when they learn French is that they usually use only masculine or feminine adjectives or articles. We are really annoying on gender I know but if you don’t specify it’s just really weird for us

Hey! I saw that you wrote in your notebook "sono eccitata " and just wanted to tell you that the word "eccitata" is mostly used in the sense of "horny". So if you want to say "I'm excited", I suggest you say something like "Sono emozionata, sono molto contenta, entusiasta" or something like that! I'm Italian and wanted you to know so that you don't make this mistake with a native speaker. Good job 👍 (I don't know if others pointed out this mistake already)
Omg thanks so much for letting me know this. I talked to someone about this on HelloTalk but it's always hard to understand the little details like this. So thank you!!!
Spanish and French are the same. excitado/a and excité(e) mean horny. Spanish would be like "estoy emocionada" and French would be like " j'ai hâte" which kind of means I'm looking forward to..
@@skylarm570 this is just an inside joke. In all towns, small villages they have a different dialect. The accent of the dialect gets transferred to Italian when they have to speak it. For example, it's more than 20 years now that I speak Italian, I still find it extremely hard to understand people from Veneto when they speak Italian,.
Think and grow up if you don’t have any reason to learn french you’ll likely give up due to lack of motivation, but of course you could learn french first so that it will be easier when you pick up Chinese so that your motivation would be that once you’ve got french nailed you can move on to the language you care about more
As a native Italian speaker, you are going really well but you need to slow down and really pronounce every letter. By slowing down you can focus on using actual Italian pronunciation and eventually you can speak at a normal pace with excellent grammar!

When I heard you say “I know Spanish”, I was like “here's another Nathaniel...”, but how you speak at the end is an actually believable result after a month of daily practice without a tutor and real-life immersion. With Nathaniel, he obviously knew enough basics when he started, and although his advice is legit, the results aren't a realistic benchmark for people starting from scratch. So thanks for a realistic benchmark :)

Thanks, u seem soo cute, u got a new subscriber!

Although this was from 4 years ago and I’m sure your Italian has exponentially improved, your Italian in this video was great! Super happy for you. I’m learning Italian now for a trip coming up soon. I love the journal idea. Grazie!
Thank you! Yes, now I live in Italy and am still learning. It’s difficult but it’s such a beautiful language and I’ve come a long way! 😊 Good luck with your studying!
@@katrinadomi1 Not precisely, for instance you say "ho corso per un'ora stamattina" (I ran for one hour this morning)... What you said, namely that verbs of motion always require "essere", is often taught as a rule in language schools, but it is rather a statistically preponderant case. De facto, there is not a 100% rule on how to determine the auxiliary verb. In most cases, you use "essere" with intransitive verbs and "avere" with transitive verbs, but there are some exceptions.
Italian is the easiest language to learn for English speakers, and one of the most fun languages to speak imo! Great tips and I totally agree about learning words that will be used most. I am learning Greek now and when I observe my conversations in Italian I notice I use the same 20 verbs quite a lot so now I am focused on learning these verbs first!
Yeah it’s super fun! The grammar is really hard for me cuz the word order and some structures are different from English. That’s where I struggle. But that’s awesome you’re learning Greek, that must be super cool. Good luck with your learning! ☺️🙌🏼
Shea Jordan oh yeah, when I said “easiest” I didn’t mean “easy” haha! Getting used to a different word order is the part I find hardest too, I am lucky that I live in Italy so it got easier over time. Best wishes and thanks for your reply! 🌷
Oh of course, I understood what you meant. There are way harder languages out there, Like I lived in Hungary for a bit and Hungarian was unbelievably difficult! That’s awesome you live in Italy, I’m planning on going back in a year or so to live there for a few months to practice and put my knowledge to the test.
This a great video, really eloquently put together. I think the number one most important thing to learn a language is to not be embarrassed. I remember when I was in Spanish class in high school nobody wanted to improve their accent because they thought it sounded tryhard or weird, but now I'm here in Spain and those same kinds of people sound completely American when they speak. At first, your sentences will sound like a child speaking, you won't know every verb tense, you will feel uncomfortable talking with natives, etc. Once I learned to get over my fear of these things my proficiency skyrocketed. Ciao!
Hi, I’m Italian. Italian grammar is much more complicated than the English one, so I guess it’s much more difficult learning Italian from English than the opposite. On the other hand, I think that we have an easier pronunciation. So listening is harder in English. Just to say that you’re doing a very very good job, keep it up!! 💪🏻💪🏻
i’m trying to learn french right now, im hoping in my lifetime to become fluent in atleast 3 languages ( besides english which i’m a native speaker of )
Nice video. I am german and I already started learning italian 3 years ago in school. Now I am going to live in Sicily for a year and need a little more training.
Thank you for the tips (I'm currently learning Spanish)/// What a lovely young lady you are - your mum, dad & both sisters must be very proud of you! Well done!
I recommend watching “skam Italia”, a remake of Norwegian series and I think it would be not that difficult to understand since the topics treated are not too conplex. I’m Italian and literally every teenager loves it😍 by the way, I really do love your voice
I’m a year late in finding this but: thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been studying for a long while, and a lot of the tips you mentioned here were some of the ones that helped me most! And you mentioning your progress also confirmed to me that some study ideas I have may actually pay off the way I’m hoping. I’m currently learning the most common 1000 words in chinese, cause a long time ago when I was learning French - learning the most common words boosted my ability to read/watch/speak basically a ton. In chinese I kept hitting walls of very little comprehension, so I rethought my strategy and decided to go through the most common words and characters before diving back into the grammar/listening etc that id been working on. Hearing you did exposure to the 1000 words in the beginning first makes me hopeful my plan will help a bit too. Also I just started using hellotalk and I can’t agree more! It got me to start practicing speaking a lot more! Your tip to do a conversational workbook to work on good sentences is something id like to include in my plans. I was debating I’d rewatching chinese shows I’ve seen with only chinese subtitles would help at all, and hearing you did this with Italian makes me hopeful it might help somewhat. I love that all your tips in here consider trying to approach learning while practicing all of the areas of writing/listening/speaking/reading. For a beginner starting out, this video really lays out a good starting idea for making a study plan!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like you found this helpful and I definitely think you're on the right track! I'm sure Chinese is tough to learn so as with any language, be patient and keep going!

Its complicated at the beginning so frist memories words and meanings then forces on grammer Few sub tips- 1.how to pronounce the words 2. A,E,I,O,U and the other alphabet letters 3. Male, female, singular, plural 4. Double letters, accents 5. Verb and tenses Hope this tips will be helpful for a bigner and this video was my first vedio I watched when I didn't knew a single word of italian.
As an italian a would like to say that that was a good effort. I know you have done great progress in 3 years but just an advice for everyoneelse; keep practicing those double consonants people, they are very important and make the difference between one world and another. For example here 14:13 Shea said "l'ano scorso" = "the last anus", instead of "l'anno scorso"= "the last year" with double N which is what she was trying to say. There are words such, cappello (double p) and capello (one p) carro and Caro, etc. Make sure those doubles can be herd. Baci e abbracci a tutti.
There's a podcast on Spotify that I used and helped me a lot when I was studying italian, it's called coffee break Italian, they focus a lot on the conversational part, it's great to help you get started with the speaking :)

Since I have a lot of time because of the quarantine I decided that it's finaly time to learn italian. My whole family (mom, auntie and gradma) all know italian and my grandpa is italian, but I never got enough time somehow to learn the language. Some days ago my grandpa called and told me that he practised English, so we can communicate (I am bulgarian, but he decided that it's easier to learn English) and I realised that this person, a grown up person is talking his time to learn a language just to talk to me, that is not even my native language and I got kind of dissapointed in myself for not doing anything for him so now I'm trying to learn italian, so we can talk more often and so it could be easier for him, I know that he will be very happy and now I'm doing it!

@Lorenzo Passero oddio, per 1 mese è veramente tanto non lo metto in dubbio, ma sinceramente non è fluente il suo italiano e ha un accento american veramente forte e si nota che il suo modo di pensare le frasi non è da italiano... @@skylarm570 this is just an inside joke. In all towns, small villages they have a different dialect. The accent of the dialect gets transferred to Italian when they have to speak it.

Thank you for the tip! I will definitely slow down and take my time. ☺️

Agh, yeah in the beginning I ALWAYS messed up sono and ho with andato. Thanks for catching that!
Shea Jordan Trisha Elizabeth All the verbs that imply movement go with the auxiliary verb “essere”. Easy.
@@katrinadomi1 Yeah I know that's why I pointed it out
actually it's sono andata bc when you use essere in the past, you have to pay attention whether it's female or male ;) so in her case it's sono andata
Yeah learning a language during lockdown is a super good thing
Italian is the easiest language to learn for English speakers, and one of the most fun languages to speak imo! Great tips and I totally agree about learning words that will be used most. I am learning Greek now and when I observe my conversations in Italian I notice I use the same 20 verbs quite a lot so now I am focused on learning these verbs first!

Ciao!
Yes that’s so important, I’m so glad you wrote this and I hope many others see this too. Great tips! ❤️❤️

We can practice English speaking
The way I learned Italian
1. I used memris website to practice words
2. I found a tandem partner to have small conversations
3. I started going to school
4. Its complicated at the beginning so frist memories words and meanings then forces on grammer
Few sub tips-
1.how to pronounce the words
2. A,E,I,O,U and the other alphabet letters
3. Male,female, singular,plural
4. Double letters, accents
5. Verb and tenses
Hope this tips will be helpful for a bigner and this video was my first vedio I watched when I didn't knew a single word of italian.
Awesome! This is great!
@@SheaJordan 😘, in the future will upload some tips on my RUclips channel too.

Thanks for this tip. I'm trying to learn language other than English and my native language. This is going to be helpful.

@@Aurajdjebn3677 Hi! Ich bin Italiener und wenn dich interessiert, ich kann dir Italienisch beibringen aber zuerst hab ich eine Frage und zwar in welches Niveau bist du? Noch
Anfänger?
Laura Löslein that would be soooo helpful for both of us!
You're literally saving me. I'm already fluent in multiple languages, but all of my learning methods so far have taken years to show some efficiency.
However I wonder if anyone has a good app or website to improve in grammar? There sure are many ways to learn vocabulary, conjugation, speaking, writing and listening, but I've never found a good support for learning grammar.
Happy to help! For Italian, I really like Online Italian Club or the McGraw Hill Practice Makes Perfect workbooks.
I'm glad a ran into your channel by accident. I am currently about to begin my Italian journey. I feel like I'll have an easy time picking the language up since I know Spanish and Portuguese as well, but my challenge is to catch up to my dad who also speaks french. It is amazing when you switch between languages effortlessly. You have some useful tips(techniques). Keep up the good work
Thank you! Glad you just happened to find my channel!
Your information was so valuable. Thank you for creating and posting this video.
You're welcome! Glad you found it helpful :)
I want to learn as many languages as possible. Right now I'm trilingual, with Spanish, English, and French. My next options are Italian, Russian, and Japanese
Wow that's awesome!

Wow, I wish you all the luck with Russian, that's so great! As a Russian, I'm just happy that I'm a native speaker because I can't imagine how tricky learning Russian might be :)
HELLO THERE! I AM FROM SRI LANKA AND I RECENTLY STARTED LEARNING FRENCH. WOULD YOU MIND HELPING ME TO IMPROVE MY FRENCH LANGUAGE SKILLS? THANK YOU, NIUMI
I'm Vietnamese and I'm starting to learn Italian. Thank you for your tips, it's really helpful!
Awesome! Glad you're learning Italian and I'm so happy you enjoyed my video!
For one month this is incredibly good Italian! Keep it up! My only constructive criticism is to work more on your pronunciation! :) it’s very important to take into consideration how different letters in different places in a word are pronunced by native speakers. You are doing incredibly well so far! Just wanted to say what I think you could improve on to become better faster! Ciao bella 😘❤️
Thank you! Yes this was a year ago and I definitely feel like my pronunciation has improved! Thank you so much :)
I am Brazilian 🇧🇷 and I am learning English. I love your channel and I love to hear you speak English because your English is very clean and I can understand 60% of what you speak helps me to train listening. Thank you very good the video.
Wow, thank you! That's great :)
