My native language is Spanish and I've been learning italian with Duolingo, podcasts, books, every resource I can find! I've been studying for around 5 monrhs and I can understand almost everything I hear, speaking on the other hand ... That's harder
Great great advice! So funny how much people give/gave you a hard time. I found your channel years ago, when I first started my Russian language learning journey. I’m so impressed with how far you’ve come! 🙌🏾. Did you EVER think 3 years later you’d be speaking Italian as much as you do now? I hope you stop and appreciate for a second the monumental accomplishment. 👏🏾 Bravo!
Thank you so much! I hope Russian is going well for you! I'm so proud of my progress, and sometimes when I do get frustrated, it's nice that I have these videos to look back and realize just how far I really have come. Thank you for the kind words!
Yes! I just added it to the description, I accidentally forgot while I was uploading it. Here’s the link too: open.spotify.com/playlist/7bBsHVQL4NdZrCRlses34R?si=QfuF5XWbRRm6tbyiadwiHg
You've improved so much! (Not that I'm one to judge, haha.) I'm still a beginner, I'd say. But I made that anni/ani mistake once when I went to Rome. I said something to everyone at the front desk of my hotel, thinking I was talking about years...I was NOT. They tried not to laugh, but I almost died. LOL.
I saw your video years ago despite having a good grasp on Italian. I think the tips are still useful but of course depend on the learner and where we are at in our language learning journey. Some people will pick and choose what they hear/take from what you have to say 🤪 I recently found your channel again (through Alyssa) and love your content! I still dream of Italy and hope to return long term 🙂 for now, I will live vicariously through your videos 😄
There's a RUclips video with the title "Learn Italian in 4 hours", so learning it in 1 month is awfully slow! Your pronunciation and accent has definitely improved a lot. FWIW, that anxiety when speaking to strangers affects everybody and is definitely a hindrance but it gradually goes away. In my case it was very gradual; it took 4 years for me to be relaxed when speaking French to strangers (but I don't like speaking English to strangers, either).
Haha ok then a month is plenty of time! And yes, little by little I’m getting better, but I envy the people who are totally shameless and don’t worry about embarrassing themselves or making mistakes.
@@SheaJordan I know a few people like that and their speaking definitely improved faster than mine but I notice that they make a lot more mistakes than I do. So, maybe slow and steady is better in the long run..
Great video!! ❤ also, how do you color correct/filter your videos? I really love the tones you use, I have a canon 80D and I’m thinking of filming videos and starting up a channel. Is it through the camera itself or processed in Final Cut or a program afterwards? Thanks Shea!!
Thank you! Nice! I have the Canon 90D 👍🏼 I use Adobe Premiere Pro and there’s an effect called “Lumetri Color”. They have built in presets or you can download some and import them. I usually try to keep my camera settings on very neutral settings when I shoot so I can do more with the color later on 😊
Hey! Thanks for this reflection video, super interesting to see your current thoughts on your progress! I have my own language story and might put it on youtube, though I def do not expect 1.5m views! But I am curious - did you make much money off that one video by itself? I'd love to know if it's worth doing.
Yeah, I have a video like Rachel said, although I'm still making some ad revenue from it. But back when I made it I had NO idea it would ever get that many views, so I definitely wasn't doing it for the money. It's better to create videos because you enjoy making them, otherwise you might be disappointed because the ad revenue from RUclips videos can be pretty low (honestly this year mine has dropped a TON and I barely make anything from them). But if you want to share your language journey, making videos is super fun and can be a great way to document your progress. And who knows, maybe you will have a video that gets over 1 million views! You never know!!
🤔 otherwise u're gonna hear bunch of random sounds and u're wasting time. Ad ogni modo, that was epic 😁👏👏
As a language teacher i dont really recommend learning 1000 words by flash cards to be honest. Words should be learned in context, otherwise they lose a lot of their meaning and can have you using them in the wrong contexts. You are then kinda just learning a translation. Maybe its better to focus on vocabulary around situations rather than divorced from their context. Its a bit brute force and confusion! The rest was pretty good though well done!
@@SheaJordan omg 😱😱 I can't believe this you replied me .... Oah I watch all your videos , you're great. Actually I am learning italian too and your videos helped me a lot.. I hope you keep making videos for us ... Thanks, love you 💜

Nice, just started my Sunday with breakfast and your video 🤗 I'm learning French but I love to use your tips for learning a language ❤️ Thanks!
Aww thank you! Hope you have a great Sunday! 🥰
This was so fun. I'm still undecided on workbooks as well. I love watching French children cartoons though. I also talk to myself in French.
Haha I'm glad you liked it! French children's cartoons sounds fun :)

Hah yes it’s so embarrassing but it’s a common mistake that happens to a lot of people, so we shouldn’t worry too much! 😂
I ordered a table of cheese in France once 😂 instead of saying a plate of cheese 😂
Hahahah I love that 🤣🤣
Grazie signora 😊
i remember watching this video !!! I Took some of your tips for my russian learning
Oh good! I’m glad 😊
I agree with you: I prefer Tandem over HelloTalk.

There are a lot of creepers in Tandem too and girls never actually talked to me for more than maybe an hour :/
Yeah I’m sure no app will be completely creeper-free unfortunately 😞 I’m sorry to hear that!
