  • Beginning to now (2021.June) in 10 minutes.
    Project began in 2015 due to a simple fact that I wanted a cheaper track car. At the time, I was driving a e46 m3, which was great, but needed constant expensive maintenance. I wanted to build a cheap car that I could drive to the track and come back. This does exactly not that... It's a trailer queen that is expensive to operate... But nevertherless, it's a really fun car to drive and has 240sx character all intact. Wish I had kept the m3 haha.jk..

    Ik this is already an old video but what an impressive build right there!! btw, quick question, since you've already swapped your inline 4 with 2jz gte engine (i6), is it advisable to do this kind of swap especially for track racing? does it have any drawback to your car's handling, center of gravity, balance and etc.? I was planning of doing an inline 6 swap to my future s15 time attack build someday but I'll do it with an RB26dett. I was wondering if it'd be a wise move or I'll just keep the SR20DET under the hood. Please let me know, thanks!!!

      Thank you! I would keep the sr unless you are putting on r compound tires and doing track days every month. But if you are, you will run into oiling issue eventually and will spin rod bearings. I would look into accusump at very minimum. As far as adding weight, it works well for higher speed turns but lower speeds will be little more challenging. Hope that helps!

      @@Sub2club thanks for info man!!! Yes, I am completely aware about the oiling issues of RB26DETT and I'm not really sure if I'd go with it or not. Addressing those issues would be really difficult for me to deal with especially if I'm looking for a reliable engine. And also, the weight, as you've stated a while ago, there would be a little imbalance for the handling as well especially when dealing to sharp turns. And not just that, i6 like RB26DETT and 2JZGTE are really big engine especially for S-chassis and those kinds of swaps are normally used for drift build application. I guess SR20DET is the ideal engine especially for versatility like track days, drift, touge (canyon run), and street. Besides, the main things you should do for platforms like S-chassis are usually power to weight ratio, suspension, handling, and brakes setup. Don't forget the aero kits, cooling systems, fuel systems, oil system, and tires setup. Anyways, thanks for the info, there were really helpful to me, atleast, I already have a basic guidelines when it comes to track racing. And lastly, please give some any further advice for building a track spec/time attack S-chassis, thanks!!

    Have you ever seen a ka24det ? I haven’t seen anyone use it for grip builds mostly drifting , I wonder how it would hold

      @Sub2club  11 дней назад

      I haven’t seen ka turbo on track before but I would think they would be a good choice as long as oiling and cooling is solid!

      Haha great question.. I’m constantly trying to figure out how to improve that😆 one is my foot, the other is geometry of how the front and rear arms move as they compress up and expand down

    What diff are you running? I got a nismo 2 way but I feel like it might be a little aggressive for grip driving

    • @Sub2club
      @Sub2club  10 дней назад

      Yeah 2way will understeer a bit depending on ramp angle and spring rates. I used 1.5 carbonetics but os is king from what I gather
