Robert Smith has a very unique signature way of not rushing a song. He writes music carefully, with thoughtful intros and deep melodies. He takes his time getting to any catchy chorus or memorable lyrics. He will not be forced or pushed by commercial pressures. It is very rare and very uniquely his own style.
One of my favourite song by The Cure ever. I don’t know if I prefer this one or the one with lyrics, but I would probably say this one. This one just cuts into you and you feel the emotion so well. If I were to ever have a theme song this is exactly what I imagine it would sound like. Raw, full of emotion and moving while being beautiful and peaceful at the same time. Simple incredible.
The Cure consistently impress me by their Imaginative ability to cross sub-genres with impactful arrangements, melody lines and overall sound, without losing identity from the dark theater.
Very beautiful. Robert Smith and his style are still amazing. I love The Cure forever and ever. Again and again and again and again and again and again....
Brilliant Version, everyone has said it before me, this is breathtaking.....yes...The Cure for ever........Thank you MrBelorix. Absolutely Beautiful. I'll be spreading this around to my friends.......absolute magic.
OH wow. I have just gotten into Joy Division finally, and they are fantastic. But, I have been missing The Cure, and this just takes my breath away....
Gak pernah bosen denger lagu ini, tiap kali gue dengerin musik kuping gue selalu berenti disini, dengerin bolak balik padahal lagunya sendiri dari awal sampe akhir bolak balik 😂
Gothic or not, Friday im in love or not....Gothic is so different nowerdays. And once in an interview Robert himself said he hated it to be labeled a Gothicband. Cure is sincere in it's emotions, in joy, depth and sorrow.........in Wish, Desintegration & Faith or whatever art he/they produced. Artistic emotion..........hm.
Agree with you. Love Robert Smith and The Cure. Amazing voice, amazing guitarist, amazing and beautiful soul. Love you Robert Smith. Friendly from France 🖤🎼🎶🎸👍🌙⭐🌟🌠
i love the cure since i´m 15, i remember the time of "disintegration" as something magic, and moments which never can be repeated. my love to this music is a bond which never can be undone..
I agree, and disagree... Disintegration was the culmination of The Cure until 1998, and might have been the end of The Cure, after a short, but very intense journey. As it is, The Cure went on, and after a rudderless journey the futility of trying to be something you're not, was laid bare in Bloodflowers. We await the much talked about new album, which is supposed to be a return to The Cure's roots, and which should make the trilogy into a quartet....
A superbly written piece of music. It takes you to recounted moments, reflections and dramas. Certainly does all the talking. It tears at the heart and seems to allude to episodes perhaps in one’s life that are challenging or adversities faced but which have been successfully conquered. There is tension and relief and the music I feel echoes these emotions. Just some thoughts.
The Cure have been my favourite band since 82. I’ve never thought of them as a Goth band. They’re a pop band really. Even on Pornography ( my favourite album of all time ) it’s really rooted in pop. Ok One Hundred Years is quite heavy but there’s still a tune you will hum forever.
nobody ever called Robert Smith a great guitarist, yet his sound technique is truly wonderful. The cures are one of the best dark new wawe bands of the past 30 years
I wouldn't say nobody, it just seems like he was not give proper recognition for his ability. He was featured in the Guitar Player magazine at least once that I know of. Perhaps because The Cure's music isn't considered to be rock and roll.
Why do we always have to categorize things. The cure is beyond categorization. They aren't goth, they aren't anything ! They are simply extremely talented musicians, in my personal opinion. They take me to different worlds, experience feelings I've never experienced before. And I think that's a job well fucking done. :)
This is the version that is played during the end credits of the VHS "The Cure Play Out." This was the first one I knew of. Darkforest121, you get around. : )
I’m almost 60! What on earth happened , all so fast …. I missed out on the Cure as I was into mainly electronic music , idolising Numan . I discoverd the beauty and depth of this music whilst on the treadmill two months ago.. It’s just so good..,
The big hand makes all of your favorite things Like all your dreams go small And all your friends run away Until your memories fail And the words don't fit But the way the big hand smiles You just won't care about it The big hand makes all of your favorite things Like all your days run out And all your hopes disappear And your smiles just stop And your eyes go dead And the shadows start to crawl In the back of your head But when the big hand speaks It's like fireworks and heaven So you listen Don't think And wish for nothing at all And when the big hand sings It's like fireworks and friends Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Leaving alone I'll never Leave alone again So when the big hand holds up all your favorite things And with a touch like glass Starts to squeeze You don't ask "Why me?" You just slip to the floor Just slip to your knees But when the big hand speaks It's like fireworks and heaven So you listen Don't think And wish for nothing at all And when the big hand sings It's like fireworks and friends Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Never leaving alone Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Leaving alone I'm not leaving alone again

Their B-sides can knock out other bands’ popular songs.

Siempre THE CURE... Javi soriano
i love the cure since i´m 15, i remember the time of "disintegration" as something magic, and moments which never can be repeated. my love to this music is a bond which never can be undone..
Disintegration was their last great album, Bloodflowers was good, the rest after Disintegration were patchy at best...
I agree, and disagree...
Disintegration was the culmination of The Cure until 1998, and might have been the end of The Cure, after a short, but very intense journey. They performed this song the first time in Town&Country club in London 1991. Secret gig, the announcement said 'Five Imaginary Boys'.
Il mio ascolto è sempre ad occhi chiusi...

Lovely artistry in the photos with all that make-up. It goes well with the music. Peace, Flood!

The cure you re in my soul love
The cure....the perfection
The big hand makes all of your favorite things
Like all your dreams go small
And all your friends run away
Until your memories fail
And the words don't fit
But the way the big hand smiles
You just won't care about it
The big hand makes all of your favorite things
Like all your days run out
And all your hopes disappear
And your smiles just stop
And your eyes go dead
And the shadows start to crawl
In the back of your head
But when the big hand speaks
It's like fireworks and heaven
So you listen
Don't think
And wish for nothing at all
And when the big hand sings
It's like fireworks and friends
Leaving alone I'm not
Leaving alone
Leaving alone I'll never
Leave alone again
So when the big hand holds up all your favorite things
And with a touch like glass
Starts to squeeze
You don't ask
"Why me?"
You just slip to the floor
Just slip to your knees
But when the big hand speaks
It's like fireworks and heaven
So you listen
Don't think
And wish for nothing at all
And when the big hand sings
It's like fireworks and friends
Leaving alone I'm not
Leaving alone
Never leaving alone
Leaving alone I'm not
Leaving alone
Leaving alone
I'm not leaving alone again
Always and forever!!
I love this song.I love instrumentals but with the cure I love both i & v.I had to learn this song on guitar .Its a must
Grandissimi 🎩🌹
You jumped ship
Deep reflection time. Aww yes! There she is. I can see her face now...
you have no idea how hard it was for me to find this song title again especially since Shazam couldn't identify it at all.
beautiful
How this, and "This Twilight Garden" were not included in "Wish" ...?
