A use for a ring like this, made out of round stock was a saddle ring to attach a stirrup to a saddle, had to make a replacement ring for a saddle once like this. And did it the same way no scarfs.

Need to go practice the chain welding... I’ll go rewatch that video again. I do Like this series. Do you know if there is much difference between coal vs propane? I also noticed your “pointer hand” is a left hand, but you are always using it in your right hand...

Was noticing in this video how easy your blower turns and continues to turn after you release. I just purchased a hand crank blower and mine does not turn near as easy nor does it continue to turn after released. Any help you would be willing to give? Thanks. Also a hoop that I forge welded I also slit and drifted holes and passed a second hoop through and forgewelded both. Kind of cool.

@@ChristCenteredIronworks simpler way to try and do, weld in a bit into mild steel to make an auger. Rowan Taylor did a good video on that.

Thanks for this series Roy! Been reading about and practicing many forge welding techniques lately. It's been very helpful to see them in action and hear your explanations about issues at the same time. Seems like alot of folks are slowly stepping away from the instructional videos lately. Thanks for Not jumping on that band wagon! Love what you do!...Keep doing you!
